Could not agree more on Miami. That was a classic ACC replay booth reversal to save their best team. Just absolute horse crap.
As to the shoot out, if Texas plays to their talent, I think they will win. That said it is a bitter rivalry and anything can happen. I will say after seeing Arch in person, I was impressed. One thing I don’t like is his lack of care for himself. Took a few hits, one should have been a roughing but as they say when running that boy don’t slide! Not a good thing IMO.

FSU has officially hit the bottom. Ouch.

USC showed resilience, great second half. I am not sure on Ohio St in that I know they are good, just need to see them really challenged. And of course Dumbo at Clemson is trying to be relevant again, I only have 1 question, when is he going to dance again, inquiring minds want to know!
Tom:

Great post.

Va. Tech won that game.

Great to see a Vandy and its #18 academic ranking best Alabama with its #1 football ranking.

On the flip-side, Alabama will still make the playoff and Vanderbilt will continue to be an academic powerhouse.

Vanderbilt beats #1 Alabama? Have we crossed over into some parallel universe? Congrats to the Commodes.

Navy, and Army, are both 5-0. Get 'um Goat as Lancer/Al would say.

Vandy beating Alabama is about as big an upset as possible. Post Georgia game letdown. Would never have happened under Saban. He had an incredible record against non-ranked opponents.

Crazy Day in NCAA yesterday. Aggies blow out Missou, Vandy flat out beats Alabama, TN loses to Arkansas and Miami should have lost again, but somehow pulls it out. They are not as good as their ranking.

And Dumbo beats FSU, quite honestly FSU is just about awful, yet they didn't let Clemson blow them out. I would like to see Clemson play another real powerhouse and see how they do.

Makes the Texas OU game more interesting. As I said before, from seeing Texas live, they have some holes, but a ton of talent, if they play fundamental football, they should beat OU.

TD

Watching the AL - Vanderbilt game. Looks like at least half the stadium are AL fans.

Again, I can’t get used to realignment, in the latest episode of the Rose Bowl, Oregon plays Ohio State this week.

It's been another rough spell for LA fans this last week with the Rams, SC, and UCLA all losing and Dodgers circling the drain. I'm taking USC over Penn St this weekend as an upset. USC lost a tough one last week. They are playing at home and Penn St hasn't shown much on offense. This is a must win to salvage their season.

USC 24 Penn St. 20.

Apologies, I should have mentioned this game as another Rose Bowl.

No better example of conference refs fixing a game than the Penn St USC game today. Two obvious PI calls not called in OT to keep Penn St in the game. Shameful.

UT destroyed Oklahoma but I think this was a case of the Sooners being over rated as opposed to the Longhorns being dominant.

I shut it off when the Longhorns player fumbled on his way to the endzone and with 3 sooners around the ball, some Longhorn player comes out of nowhere and recovers it for a TD.

Ballgame.

3 points does not constitute a shootout in my book.

Texas played sloppy on offense, Ewers had a whole lot of rust and they looked lethargic in scoring 34 points. Texas Defense appeared to settle in and play decent defense. I also think Oklahoma after watching that has serious offensive issues, why not put the other QB back in, he must have really PO'd the coaching staff. The guy who played had zero accuracy for the most part. Texas will need to be much more fired up to deal with Georgia at home next week. That game scares me, GA is much better than their performances as of late, they can be explosive which makes a team very dangerous. For the Red River Rivalry, Texas appeared almost too cool for school on offense, lots of errors and no enthusiasm IMO.

Ole Miss really disappointed me, they gave away that game to the donkey in LSU. Sad.

Tennessee is extremely lucky, they almost threw away the season to Florida.

Oregon, bad news for Ohio State, they are now behind the 8 ball.

USC - ugh, I agree that they didn't get any benefits on calls, but you can't let Penn St back into it when you are at home. Somehow they lost the momentum and then it seemed like nothing could go their way, they should have won that one.

Clemson - Dumbo is still dancing, cupcake schedule.

Notre Dame - ugh. they won again, they will make the playoffs barring another stumble in their schedule which they shouldn't but one can only hope!

Maryland - Butt whoopin. The coach needs to find new employment, he got blown out and IMO this trend will continue for the rest of the season.

FSU - Fortunately they had a bye week so they could punt future embarrassment to next weekend. Ugly in Tallahassee.

I'm going with Bama over TN and Georgia over Texas this weekend. Two road picks.

Can someone remind the refs of the TN AL game that Sabin is no longer the coach of Alabama and you don’t have to give them every call??

It's a pattern repeated in every conference. The conference refs are giving the calls to the teams in playoff contention. There is big money at stake for the playoff teams. USC has been robbed three times in the Big Ten.

It's great to see MD beat USC. As a USC alum, the soft, woke team that USC has become needs to bottom out before there is some change. I only wish Al was still around to enjoy it.

Learned a lot about college football tonight watching the Georgia/Texas game.

Never knew after a really bad call, your fans can pelt the field with bottles, NOT get a penalty for it and give the refs 10 minutes to overturn a NON reviewable call.

Also, when you score a TD with neither knee touching the ground, the refs will still say it's not a TD.

Lastly, when you get tackled out of bounds but never touch the ground and get to the line to gain for the first down, you still don't get the call.

And wowza, the QB for Texas blows; Manning can't beat that stiff out? How the Christ were they undefeated prior to tonight?

All the sad sack long faces in the crowd; they do know it's a 12 team field this year and your team is now 6-1 and has 5 tomato cans lined up still to play; no worries, last time I checked, 11-1 gets you in.

Geez.

Texas lost, Georgia was the better team last night.

That is completely secondary to the acts of the fans throwing bottles onto the field after a controversial call.

What an absolutely shameful and pathetic act.

Georgia played a great game and UT fought back, both teams are worthy playoff teams.

UT students proved that while a team might have a championship pedigree, drunken fans deserve a loss.
