Need Help Identifying Set(s) (2 Viewers)

Well, early Trophys did not have "TM" mark on the base to start with, then it was a transparent sticker with a Trophy name on it, and then "TM" mark, at the best of my knowledge...
Early Trophys WERE skinny by the way. I will post here PART 3 of my recent findings of "skinny" Trophys :)

Dear "Boerboy":
I started getting Trophy figures in 1992. I know that Trophy started as a full time business in circa 1973. I was only going by my 1992 to about 2003 Trophy purchases. I can see that their 1970's into 1980's production of figures may indeed have been different back then.

Thank you, for your reply. I completely understand your position on this subject.

Post 1992 Trophys are relatively easy to identify because Trophy published a detailed catalog in 1991.

Trophys from 1970-1980 are "dark ages" for Trophy collectors :)....but they are great interest for my research. I talked with several early Trophy dealers and they all told me that they never had never received any early "boxed sets" from Len, most figures came wrapped in tissues paper, sometimes accompanied with a short note with a description.

I have one example of early horse mounted musical band which came in a large "castles" type box, all pieces inside were wrapped in tissues paper and box was filled with Styrofoam "peanuts".

Hi Al

These are from an early EQ44 set - Royal Marines at Tel-El-Kebir.

You can tell it is an early set just look at the size of ammo drum for the Gatling gun, they were larger in later sets

Cheers

Martyn:)

Al,
Nice piece, looks to be a Seaforth Colour bearer from one of Trophy's Command sets. Helmet band looks a bit different to me. Martyn will nail down. Nice find.

Hi John and Al

John is quite right, the figure is a SEAFORTH OFFICER from set#HLS1 - THE HIGHLAND BRIGADE - SEAFORTH HIGHLANDERS COMMAND SET - EGYPT & THE SUDAN

This set included an Officer with drawn sword, mounted on a standing horse. A Sergeant Major firing a pistol. A Drummer standing beating a tattoo and an Officer on foot, holding the Queens Colour and drawn pistol. The colour of the puggaree around the helmet is correct

Cheers

Martyn:)

Thank you, Martyn for id. Your knowledge of Trophy is exceptional...

BTW they had an interesting Dragon Crest and Indian Army set at the show...you probably can recognize them as well :)

Hi Al

Always happy to help.

Very nice sets you picture there;)

The top set is indeed Dragon Crest, set#DC20 Natal Native Contingent, I have a set and I know Mike (1879fanatic) also has maybe 2 or 3 sets, I also believe Joe has a set

The lower picture includes, I believe, Coldstream Guards charging set#SS24 at the top

Cheers

Martyn:)
