Martyn: What do you think of LL's dhow just posted on the website?

Hi Tommy

I saw the prototype in March, it did not have figures then. I will have a good look at it on Saturday and get some pictures

Cheers

Thanks Martyn. It looks large enough to add another six piece set.

It looks very nice, but it's not Trophy quality... "Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery" :) ...I think that one problem I have with LL : I expect something "original" from such a great company, no just copying 20 years old ideas...

Boreboy I'm sure you'll agree that the following buildings done of the Hospital and Storehouse are original and not copies of Tropy's or others that have been done. What's unique about the both is that unlike others done their doors and windows are correctly placed on their verandas and are featured where they should be as they appear in Chard's drawing of The Mission Station. As I've said in the past a picture is worth a 1,000 words. Mike's once again is providing his LL collectors of the period some outstaing choices to be added to their Zulu War Collections.....The Lt.

The Lt,
I agree, their buildings are fine and I was thinking about getting them for my collection but other then that with an exception of the camel gun team... they are pretty much "the same" like many made by many other companies...I wish that every their set has "a story" the way Trophy did it, but maybe I am asking too much
LL own Military Pageant's moulds and could make one of the best range of civilian figures...

I will probably get this one too. I still like the old Trophy one better b/c it is Trophy of course! That said, this looks like a great effort! Also, the price of LL Sudan series is much more affordable than Trophy!

I agree with Lt., the hospital is not a copy of Trophy's Hospital, but LL's own take on the hospital. After all it is hard not to make the same sets as Trophy as Trophy made such a wide range of figures for the AZW. I just wish I was collecting during Trophy's hey dey.

Now that Mike has made a rocket battery set and a heliograph set, can a pontoon set and a water cart sortie set be far behind.

I picked these sets up today at the Toy Soldier Shoppe.

Very nice Brian, I saw them at the last London Show

Cheers

Martyn:)

Agree Martyn wish I had been at the show with you to see them up close. Looking forward to seeing you at play with them Brian......Joe

All the Zulu stuff looks great. Thought I would post a few that Mike sent me, and, because I like to cause trouble, post photos of an ATS Napoleonic mounted figure of Major von Schill. I was very impressed with it, what do you think?

JW,

The figures look great, but all LL figures look great.

I saw the weathered Sudan boat at the Toy Soldier Shoppe, I thought it looked god in the photos, but in person it is a great set. Can't collect everything.

Wrong thread but the K&C FW190 looked great.

Brian

Brian,
I was actually curious about the FW190. I would like to get one, but like you said, you cannot collect everything.

JW,

It is very nice. I looks great in the photos, but to see it in person and to pick it up. Wow. Let's not even talk about the Mustang. If K&C would only make Pacific Warbirds. I would not hesitate in buying them.
