This is the new range replacing Arnhem. It was close, but unfortunately the Seminoles weren't selected as the new range. Maybe next year Ron. ^&grin

Well that's ok, good for those who like something a little different, I will get the 'Charlie Tommy'.....:)
Wayne.

Well...........this is bizarre..........I actually had to go to the KC website to believe it. I thought for a minute this could be one of those photo-shop jobs.

Talk about a strange move. I have always been a Chaplin fan and will never forget laughing endlessly at runs of the 1940 picture the Dictator. His first talkie I believe. There was an actor that I cannot remember that did such a great caricature of Mussolini in the film as well.

I for one will pick up both figures for the sheer nostalgia and memory of Charlies work. However, I doubt they will be much sought after and certainly not new Collector Club member material. Unfortunately for these two figures there are too few of us old men and old film fanatics left.

John,

Since it is Charlie Chaplin as a Tommy couldn't it be correct for Charlie ? If there is a particular movie I guess a movie fan might know if this is based on a Chaplin movie. Anybody have a Chaplin DVD collection ?

They are not bad looking figures and resemble Charlie Chaplin but here are the problems I have. Charlie Chaplin can be made to look like the real him but Franklin Roosevelt & Winston Churchill aren't even close. And also Charlie Chaplin gets made before other personality figures like Frost and other single figures that could go with existing ranges !? I know the usual will bash this post but to me its a waste of a figure. Keith

I suppose you make a valid point about the facial similarity. sack the yalta sculptor and keep the chaplin one. Maybe?

Not my cup of tea however they do look like Chaplin. If K&C do some OPERATION MARKET GARDEN personalities maybe I'll return as a CC member.

I think these are kind of neat and are good "one offs" for a club release. There are enough ranges out there to find something, so I always welcome the offbeat in club releases.

Likely not getting. The resources have to be allocated to end of the year in anticipation of watch on the Rhine.

Just another note on club figures in general. Sometimes they signal a range as a test item, but on many other occassions, they are one offs that Andy wants to personally make (this information culminated from several Q&A sessions over the years). I don't necessarily think that making any of the club figures actually take away from any current or former ranges. Again, I kind of like seeing the one offs, they make an interesting collectible series on their own.
