Papa...I remember reading a very well written passage some time age...

that I wish I could find...

about how fearful the Zulus were of the 25" bayonet of the Martini-Henry rifle and the skill of the British soldiers in utilizing it in battle...

the article I'm referring too gave a great description of the intimidation and respect for this weapon...almost saying that the Zulu...were less fearful of the bullet itself to the bayonet...

it was an amazing weapon in the right hands in "one on one" combat...
 
Michael it was at Rorke's Drift that the Zulus fear the bayonet more so than the Martini-Henry. Martyn the washed his spear for the last time..........PapaZ
