I am one happy collector. :smile2: While visiting Ken Olsen in Madison, IN recently he mentioned the conversion of a Confederate gun crew he was working on. I asked if he would do one for me and he sold me his own set. Uniforms were modifed with buttons and jacket details. He and Ericka delivered it with the 40 x 48 ACW base they had completed. Will post more pics later but wanted to give a sneek peak of his amazing work. They have so many projects going at once, I'm very grateful to be able to add this to my collection. Chris

So many artillery sets (from all vendors) have the figures that are not posed realistically in the environment of a pitched barrage. This set does this perfectly.

I love the way that the soldiers are bending away and covering their ears, while other are posed in movement around the gun, busily doing their jobs.

Wonderful display and soldiers -- Larry

Very nice set-up! I like the way you have the stone wall and rail fencing meshed-in with the bushes and terrain. Very natural looking.

Britains has done such a great job with their ACW range, the reason why I only collect their figures and accessories for this range. Nice action poses makes for a wonderful diorama and it shows in your set-up. {bravo}}

And {bravo}} to Britains for making it all happen! :salute::

You've just gotta love a gun line - really stirring stuff. Great work.

Thanks Kaap, Larry, History, and Fitzgibbon

Agree that WB makes the most realistic and diverse ACW figs on the market today. They work well with Ken Olsen's beautifull dio bases. The details are amazing. Hope to post some pics this weekend of the rest of the base. Waiting for the limbers to be released to complete the battery action. :smile2: Chris

That's a very nice grab Chris-for me the battery looks better in blue than gray -I want one :smile2:

Thanks for the kind remarks Rossim and Napoleon1er.
Bob, I was lucky to get this conversion set from Ken. He and I both commented on the great figs comining off your work bench. As one who is artistically "challenged", I'm in awe of what you can do. :smile2: Chris

Here are a few more pics. Working on a suitable backdrop. Chris

Very nice indeed, I can see why you are so pleased. Ken has made a grade A job on the display board. well done all round. {bravo}}

Jeff :salute::

Thanks Jeff.

Fitzgibbon, it's a Hudson and Allen dio base by Ken and Ericka Olsen. Chris

Thanks Chris - another new item I've never tried - dio bases...it certainly looks a treat. (you mean I really can't put this on a cork floor tile? {eek3})

So you were the lucky collector who got the conversion artillery crew . . . good for you Chris and congratulations. Your new crew and your new dio base are just super and I know you are very proud of both. Too bad we don't live near each other . . . it would be fun to be able to combine both our collections and dio bases for a full day of ACW . . . .
:smile2: Mike

Hi Mike and thanks, I'm excited to receive both bases and the new gun crew. The frame edge is removable so additional base sections can be connected in the future. I can only imagine what great scenarios we could construct with our "combined" armies. :smile2: Regards, Chris
