New figarti from chicago. (1 Viewer)

BS! As an historian of the reichsbahn and collector of HO scale Reichsbahn for many years, the figarti range was a joke! The tracks had too much gravel,, the helmets in the figures looked like First World War helmets..The rolling stock lacked decals.. Series should have been 1/32 scale to be compatable with Marklin, etc..

You make some good points and that why I've done away with using using Figarti track with my Figarti Tain set

Wondering if it's too much to expect these 2 rail guns to surface in 2017? The war will be over it seems before they arrive^&grin, Robin.

15 months and still no rail gun or did i miss it ^&confuse^&confuse^&grin

Dragon made a very accurate 1/35 rail engine with a Panzer IV turret in 1/35. They also made a 1/35 Thor but without the rail carrier. The Dragon models make nice display pieces until some manufacturer comes along with 1/30 models. I do not see Neo-Figarti doing trains or rail guns ever again; both Thor and Leopold were magnificent one off models, very expensive for a very limited market. Shock and Awe X10 IMO.

So when and where can we buy these rail guns ?

Who had the in Chicago ?

JPB

They were sold many years ago when Figarti was under different ownership and management. There are no indications these will be produced again.

I think the Rail Guns Wayne is referring to are the Armored Railcars with Panzer IV turrets mounted on them that were displayed as prototypes in Chicago. Over the last several years all Figarti has produced is reworked Panther Gs and repaints of previously produced models. The repainted Winter JS-2 does not have opening hatches and I expect the ISU-152 is the same. The last fully new tanks from Figarti were the Pershing, KV-1, SU-85 and SU-100; to my knowledge. I was an avid Figarti armor collector prior to the sale of the company. The SU-100 which I recently purchased is an excellent model, the cupola hatch opens and the dimensions are a correct 1/30; it looks great next to the equally excellent T34-85. I still hope the new owner gets his act together; but so far nothing really new or interesting IMO.

I apologize. I forgot about the railroad guns. That was just a blip on the radar for me.

Matt of Hobby Bunker posted elsewhere that Figarti "are in a state of limbo...they need to cash to make goods...So be patient and things will get made."

In other words, they are short of working capital. As they develop working capital, things will be made but until then, don't count on them.

Matt at Hobby Bunker commissioned a number of Figarti's late pieces i.e. the Winter JS-2 and ISU-152. A serious design fault of some of the late Figarti armor and the Thomas Gunn Hetzer, was not having open or open/closing hatches to display figures. I had to ask the seller I bought my SU-100 from if the cupola hatch opened; if it had not I would not have bought it. Today the question always exists as armor is sold without figures in order to lower or maintain cost. Perhaps Matt or a consortium of dealers could comission a Figarti Kingtiger to get Figarti moving foward.

Is Figarti still alive ?

I want to buy these new railroad release!

I would consider Figarti a Zombie company; not quite dead and not quite alive. Lots of money would revive them. A contract from a large distributor for 500 pieces of a Figarti Kingtiger with a 50% prepayment might just get things moving. Another way to proceed would be for Figarti to produce a prototype and take orders for it from interested collectors with a 50% prepayment to fund the molds, materials and labor. Risky for the collectors though!

I was planning to have these rail cars back in 2015, but they are now long forgotten, just a pipe dream. Robin.
