New Line coming in 2010 ! (4 Viewers)

I am sure you both are correct. The civil war is not of great interest to me but I can certainly appreciate its history and that would be one fine re-enactment to participate in or even to see.

I know exactly what you are saying. I was at 125th Gettysburg. I'm past re-enacting but the 150th would be great to see.

I was at the 125th also , I was taken by my father and older brother it was pretty cool to see all the reenactors from all over the world taking part ,they were totally into it . I also remember my dad taking me through the camps . It left a Great impression ;)

I was the guy in blue!!:D;). You may already know this, but the Union camp seen in the opening shots of Glory, were from the 125th Gettysburg. I have collected ACW figures from other companies, but First Legion could do such an awesome job.

I agree 100 %, That's what scares me  The thought the ACW getting the royal treatment from First legion would be too much for me to resist . I'm having all I can handle with the Napoleonic and Stalingrad Lines . I hope the new lines will be something I'm not interested in but I'm afraid that's not going to be the case;) Thanks for the info about the scene from Glory shot at the 125th. I'm gonna go back and check it out its been a while for that one, Its pretty good flick . All the best

I was there.Unbelievable heat and humidity especially in wool. In the camp scene when the SGT. is handing out mail, I was 30 feet away hiding under a shebang trying to stay out of the sun .Our little group from the NW managed to end up in GLORY for a moment, with the Irish Brigade during the build up to Antietam. We all got killed.
Being so far behind in collecting Napoleonic' s from FL, I shudder to think of a New ACW line. Not that it wouldn't be super.Just more than I could stand.Gnawing on the walls already.ACW would strain what little sanity I have left.
FUB

Hey Fub,

I saw Aleksey at Chicago. He has given up the Napoleonic line except for special order. You can gain a little more of your sanity back!!! Now you have First Legion to contend with!!! :)

Steve

I would also have to wait on any new releases until I'm caught up with Napoleon. I think that at this point, I like just focusing on Napoleonics. It is less stressful!

Steve I had almost forgotten about the Russian Cuirassier and Dragoons by our friend Aleksey.I don't recall seeing him in 2008. I should have bought some when I had the chance.I'd probably have broken them by now anyway.
I take it you have a bunch of FL. I have a wish list a mile long.Time to order some samples.
You should head South this June and help me set up Waterloo.Bring your toys.
FubAR

June... eh... commemorating Waterloo are you? That may be a possibility for me... don't know how I can resist reliving that event in the grand "Fubar style". Should be spectacular!

My thoughts on what the new ranges might be. My fears (or hopes) are they will be something I cannot live without and would have to start collecting in addition to the Napoleonic range.

One range I would not be able to resist would be the European Seven Years War, Frederick the Great’s troops against Austria’s Maria Theresa and Russia’s Catherine the Great troops. I have always thought it strange no large Toy Soldier company produces figures for this period of history.

The other range would be the American Revolution.

Deep down I feel I am pretty safe, as I doubt if First Legion will be doing either.

King’s Man

Matt,Where's my range!Everybody's comming up with some great suggestions.Hope they don't get you to change your mind.:eek:All the best.
Mark:D

I think it is safe to say he will tell you when he is ready but you may know sooner if you keep your eye on those periodic FL TS and figure magazine adds.;):D

Its almost February and the new Line or Lines are coming soon . I was just wondering if anyone had any fresh guesses as to the type of Bomb or Bombs that's getting ready to be dropped ???? I'm hoping it something a don't have any interest in . As I'm deep into two of the current three ..and happily broke I might add :D Crap who am I kidding bring em on

I am waiting for the Highlanders to make their appearance. I am reading about the battle of Borodino, so I am also waiting for the Russian Infantry.
For bombshell, I think that Bavarian Artillery, Chaveux Leger or Saxon Cuirasier. Or Prussian Artillery would be cool.

If it has to do with FIW it won't be Monongahela,St. Francis,Quebec or Snowshoes but it could be Ft.William Henry (outside chance),Bushy Run (closer) my choice would be Ticondaroga.I base this on the wants of FIW collectors on another section. It has everything, Britsh regulars colonials,Rangers,French regulars, colonial troops, militia, INDIANS and a fort.God I hope I'm wrong. :D:D:D

My main period of interest in the Napoleonic Era is the Befreiungskriege 1813-1815 so Russian infantry would make Great allies for my Prussians :) . As you know Borodino and Waterloo are what FL have started with and that's fine I guess. These two Battles have giving me plenty to spend my money on . Bavarian Artillery, Chaveux Leger or Saxon Cuirasier. Or Prussian Artillery would have the preorders flying. all would be must haves for sure . :)

I really don't have any interest in the FIW, but when I think what FL could do with all that you mention it would be very COOL to see. :D Do a lot of people collect this period ? I hope the collectors of this period get the same chance to enjoy FL that I am . They really do Fantastic work. :)

I think WWII,ACW Napoleonics,Ancients all do better.I have interest in only The North American part of the Seven Years War but Matt could probably draw from a larger pool of collectors if he does SYW.I personally wouldn't collect it but a lot would.

1813-1815 Napoleonics are fine with me so long as they feature the battles from Spain into southern France.;):D The others you mention would be interesting to see but wouldn't rise to the level of a purchase for me.;)

I can certainly imagine the appeal of including some American troops in the new release in some fashion so FIW or ACW would seem to be strong contenders. Neither of these have much appeal to me but I am sure they would to many. Of course there is the AWI, which done by FL might just suck me in but I think that is a long shot. Before Matt's response to Mark I would have laid odds on Rome but that now seems much less likely to me.

Either of these would be great ideas, though my personal pick would be the AWI. Would love to see what First Legion would do with a Continental Line series.
