Hi all, finally got my Normandy dio up and running with enough troops to fill in with a decent battle scene, Hopefully in the near future I will be adding some accessories and really hoping Matt and Co. will release some vehicles this year for this range which will really bring the dio up to speed....Sammy

Thanks to all the nice comments fellows, I wish I had the photography skills to really show the detail in this dio ( actually these pics were taken on my I phone)!! But you can get a good idea how the work in the detail and craftsmanship David Marshall puts in his product, I do look forward to adding some vehicles and village accessories to it soon, as it just a little to neat and tidy for me, once I get the accessories
added I will add some more photos...Sammy

I could have a lot of fun photographing that scene {sm4}

What an awesome Dio, there's so much you can do with that. I'll look forward to new updates!

Sammy great dio did you make did you make the buildings and if not which company made them. I'm asking because I'm starting a 4 foot by 4 foot dio. Thanks Greg

Hi Greg, no I only wish I could make these buildings!! A gent in the UK named David Marshall is the builder also can find him under TMterrain, if you need his number let me know...Sammy

Sammy,

A superb diorama and with the best figures made in the toy soldier business-First Legion, of course! I love the machine gun nest and the artillery piece the U.S. paratroopers need to dismantle. I understand that the diorama is to be loaned to First Legion collectors who also collect the Battle of Normandy range. I have someone in mind and he said he would be glad to display it in his home for the next "several" months!:wink2: And no it's not Gebs!!!

Now all we need is some armor for our troops! Matt, make some armor for us!!!

Thank you for posting pictures of your marvelous diorama on the forum.

Best,

Alex {bravo}}

Sammy, I love your Normandy dio! It's very well designed and I love how it has beautiful French structures and a wonderfully realistic bocage as well. David Marshall's diorama work is my favorite. He recently constructed a castle scene for me. I will post pics when I get a chance. Your dio works so very well with your FL figures. David's work and FL are a perfect compliment to one another. Thanks for sharing the pics- great stuff!!!!!

Sammy:

Spectacular scene! I like the way you used a village and I love the way the Germans are running towards the fight. It captures the true essence of so many battles that took place within the Normandy time range.

Hi Sammy,
What a beautiful piece of work David has created :salute:: I'm sure your really happy to have it in your ever growing collection of master works. Looking very nice:salute:: now all you need is for First Legion to produce some Armor for Normandy, who knows maybe an announcement is coming soon. If not I'm sure Figarti would love to take some of your hard earned cash:wink2:. regards Gebhard

Hello Joe, thanks for the comments, and I look forward to your Castle Wall photos, was the castle in the toy soldier collector magazine awhile back?? I know David has done some great castles/walls for a few collectors and they look spectacular!!

Also thanks for the kind words Gebs, I'm holding out on the Normandy First Legion Armor right now, as I'm sure all in time we will see some great releases for this range but I do like the Figarti Tiger, we'll see, hell I would be happy with a jeep and some accessories for my Paras but a Sherman would look delicious in those hedge rows :)...Sammy

Hi guys

Thanks for the nice comments. I really enjoyed doing this dio for Sammy. I had most fun with the vegatable garden and adding all the detail.
We have designed the layout so it can be extended with new boards as necessary as well as the boards interchanging with each other so you can get alot of variety in the display.
I am looking forward to seeing some new FL armour on it.
David
