I love the look of this tank, but not at the " same size as the Wittman model ". It is a shame as I am fast becoming a big fan again of CS vehicles. For me ,I am still a stickler of models being reletive size to one another, at least within a mfg. own range.:redface2: Michael

Nice looking desert tiger, and timely too, as I was just contemplating getting into Afrikakorps stuff. I think an order for this and the Steyr Command vehicle with Rommel are in my near future. Using the below photo as inspiration, the size of this Tiger will look quite nice indeed.



My only minor gripes are the center headlight and monocular gunsight which aren't really accurate for a North African earlier Tiger, but those are easily remedied. The rest of the thing looks amazing, and the paint looks great.

Although the Tiger is nice enough to say I would buy it sadly, the same applies for me the scale is the same as the Wittmann and, that for me, was the reason I skipped it and, will skip this one. It will sell out for sure but, will pass this one. I hope a grey version will be scaled differently but, not holding out on that one.

What a beauty! Will be pre ordering this. I love the scale of the Wittman Tiger and I know there is some people that are not to happy with it. All I collect is TCS and I think the scale of the tiger is perfect with all the TCS armor and soldiers.

I also liked the scale of the CS Wittmann Tiger and as this new one really is quite nice looking, I am thinking it just might become my first desert war purchase. ^&cool -- Al

IMHO this Tiger is inferior to K&C's limited edition in 2008

K&C's 2008 is my favorite Afrika tank ever. I always hope that another will come along and top that one but not so far and I dont believe this is the one that is
going to do it either. That being said im still going to be getting this one

Very Good Point.....With K/C and CS figures being closer to 1:28th scale then 1:30th.....I belive that CS "oversized" Tigers will be in better balance with figures..... CS is definitely on the right track with slightly larger AFV's{bravo}}.....Definitely more realistic when the figures are balanced with AFV's.

Not wishing to start the whole debate about scale again, but, as its been brought up you cannot have it both ways. It was shown that the last Tigers Brian released were not 1/30th by a number of people and, were in line with the larger figures they and other make. This was not the case with their other AFV's like the jagdpanther as I clearly showed.

The question is why only the Tiger I? why do we seem to feel the need that this AFV needs to somehow look bigger or fit with the current release of figures?

I really don't understand the mentality of this way of thinking. Either release everything to be compatable with ones larger sized figures and state thats the direction but, don't really just do it for one AFV does not make any sense to me at all why this is still bumbling along in this hobby. Scale is absolute and has no variation when applied to AFV's that is a simple undeniable fact. Scale can be less rigid in terms of figures and is easier to play around with. Its the figures that are the issue in terms of size but, address that leave the AFV's in a hobby that clearly and, repeats many many times its 1/30th alone

Capturing sales by scale enticement. Or the scale of the Tiger 1 was due to miscalculation during the mold making process and later lack of shrinkage causing to much excess costs to redo the project.

I often thought this is what happened. No mfg. can just throw away an entire production run because of factory error..I love CS last Sherman and have preordered the Stuart. The size on the Sherman seems right next to most any CS release except the new Tiger. I have the earlier CS Tiger, which seems OK as to size, vehicle to vehicle...Michael

Well something has to change because no manufacturer is producing true 1:30th scale figures except First Legion....since it is very likely that 1:28th scale figures will continue to be called 1:30th....the only other alternative is to make 1:28th scale AFV's and call them 1:30th (oversized) as well.....That will at least will be consistent across the board.

I very much agree with this. Either downscale the figures to the correct 1/30 to match the vehicles (don't think this will happen), or upscale the now undersized vehicles to match the 1/28 figures. With the exception of the CS Tigers, I don't think this will happen either. Most collectors (with the exception of a few of us), seem to be happy with the vehicles at 1/30 and the figures at 1/28, for some reason. I've stated many times that I really like the new 1/28 CS Tigers, as the current figures match up with these new, larger Tigers. Nothing bothers me more than having figures that are a head taller than the deck of a Tiger instead of the more correct reverse proportion. Granted, men are all different sizes in real life, so some may be as tall as a Tiger deck, but most will be shorter, and very few would be taller. I just want my Tiger model to project it's massive size when next to the figures. No model did until the new, upscaled CS Tiger showed up. The best solution to the size problem (as I see it), prior to the new CS Tiger, was to use 1/32 scale figures with the 1/30 scale vehicles. This wasn't possible for me as I don't have any 1/32 figures, so the new up-scale CS Tiger was my wish fulfilled. Now all the manufacturers have to do is fall in line and do as Vezzolf suggests. While I agree it would be nice to have the AFVs the same scale as the figures, I don't expect it to happen. I've been told that most WWII collectors have mostly 60mm figures already and prefer that size to the 54mm figures. I know I do. It is easier to see the detail. And it is supposed to be more expensive to paint the smaller figures. At the same time most collectors don't want the AFVs to get too big which increases the material cost and takes up too much space. It seems having 1:28 figures and 1:30 AFVs is a compromise (as opposed to 1:28 or 1:32 AFVs) Right now, most AFVs being produced are 1:30 and most figures are 1:28. CS gives some alternative choice by having some AFVs in 1:28 to go with the 1:28 figures. To me that is a good thing for the collectors who want the figures and AFVs to be the same scale.

Not singling out Mitch, but it looks like the scale issue has grown legs again so I'm starting with an early thread...

In response to these statements about the Tiger which others are supporting, wasn't it discussed around the same time that the Easy 8 & the new PzIV were also scale enhanced? And later as new releases came out, I recall someone posting a comparison pic of the new CS King Tiger with the newest K&C that also showed scale enhancement. As for the newest CS Sherman, I don't think anyone has provided any comparison photo with a recent K&C Sherman to get a sense of scale. All I'm saying is that it seems to be general policy, not just Tiger I. I can tell just by looking at the new CS arty like the Pak 40 & Nelbelwerfer that they are on the large side. The new 88 sure was (that's a good thing).

I do like my arty on the large side. Don't need a 1/28 Jagdtiger, but arty is nice.
