Colin Kaepernick

Jason...
I don't think I have ever seen one of his post game interviews...
I did see a picture of him on Fox Sports shoving away a camera man after their Oakland defeat...

that action spoke a lot louder than one word...^&grin

Mike:

His press conferences are embarrassments to the franchise and the memory of the late great Bill Walsh. He gives one word answers and has a terrible attitude. Worse yet, there are grumblings on the team that he may be doing it to get attention.

Another December, another hat and tee shirt game for the Patriots vs Miami; AFCE Champions once again, 12 times out of the last 14 years, not bad.

Beat the Jets next week, secure a bye.

Beat Buffalo the following week, secure HFA.

Make it happen.

And I'm shocked that the 49ers are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs; this has to be the end of Harbaugh in San Francisco.

Harblow is one of the biggest alpha hotels in the history of sports. I wouldn't be surprised to see him jump ship to Michigan.

It's not a question of jumping ship. The GM has an issue with him, although the only thing Harbaugh does is win. Harbaugh will probably be going to the Raiders because his family doesn't want to move. It will probably cost them a minor draft pick as Harbaugh has only a year left on his contract.

Well Flacco may not have the glitz and glamour of Rodgers, Manning but he's right on their heels on overall qb rating system which takes in a lot of info, tds, yards, ints, etc...no doubt that Kubiak has helped him in 2014, shame that Kubiak will be one and done at Baltimore then heading back to head coach some where in 2015.

I'm not a big Chicago fan...

and I'm watching everybody blame Cutler today for his poor performance last night against New Orleans...

and in the past...I have questioned Cutler's enthusiasm and desire by the way he reacts to interceptions and mistakes on his part...

but when you have a offensive line that is so porous...and that's to the hardly vaunted Saint's defense...

allowing 7 sacks and I can't tell you how many hits and hurries...

I can't blame it all on Cutler...I don't think any quarterback would have had a good night with that offensive line providing protection for them...

fans are quick to heap the blame on the leader of the team...but I think most of the credit for his performance last night goes to his lousy offensive line...New Orleans is not what I would call an overwhelming shut down defense...but Chicago's line sure let them pad their stats and pound Cutler...

I'm a Bears fan and I agree the offensive line is not very good (and hasn't been good for awhile) however Cutler with his personality doesn't do himself a lot of favors. Defensively, they're not very good either.

The HC needs to go. He's a good offensive coordinator but I have no confidence in him as a coach.

...no doubt that Kubiak has helped him in 2014

Yes he has, that's for sure; Kubiak is the guy who installed the brilliant go to play for the Ravens on third and ten; heave the ball 40 yards downfield into double coverage, pass interference on the defense, first down.................

no he's the guy that took a 29th rushing offense (last year) turned them into a top 5 and got Flacco back on track after a terrible 2013, you can call it anyway you want George...Sammy

Hey Sammy, nothing wrong with taking what the NFL will give you; so far this year, there have been 24,670 ticky tack BS hands to the face/illegal contact/pass interference/personal fouls calls on defenses around the league.

The NFL has basically legislated defense out of the league; guys like Ty Law, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Ronnie Lott, Lester
Hayes, Mel Blount, Mike Haynes etc, etc would be penalty machines in todays NFL.

It's a watered down farce of a game.

Trestman will apparently be fired at the end of the season. Maybe they think they can get Harbaugh.

Watching ESPN highlites a week or so ago and some defense gives up close to 300 yards and the commentators talked about how great that defense played???{eek3} 300 yards giving up by a defense is sadly become a "good game" for the defense, and farce is sounding like a pretty good title...Sammy

Harbaugh’s act never took off in the Bay Area, even when he was winning. He was hot and cold with the media at best and many Niner fans who grew up with Bill Walsh never liked his “in your face” style of belittling opponents etc.

In the San Diego/New England game last week, a San Diego receiver came over the middle, was bobbling the ball and Browner lowered his shoulder, popped the guy and the ball popped up in the air.

It was intercepted and ran back for a TD; flags flew and I knew it would be coming back.

Sure enough, 15 yard penalty on the defense for targeting a defenseless receiver, blow to the head, helmet to helmet when it was CLEARLY a clean hit, shoulder and not helmet.

Phil Sims, who hates the Patriots said it was a bad call, a game changer.

Luckily, the Patriots who were trailing at the time rallied and won the game.

You can't play defense in this league anymore, it's all about scoring points and like you said, if you "hold" an offense to 300 yards, that's a good game.

No, it's a pathetic shell of a former great sport.

George has written two very true posts. The NFL is no longer the game I grew up loving. I guess some change is to be expected but the grab for the almighty viewers and their dollars has pushed the present NFL game into a pinball/arena style of play that I personally care little about watching. The virtual elimination of the running game and the banishment of any kind of defense makes the current game, as George says, a farce. Teams are throwing 50 times a game for a 4 yard per completion average (boring!) and Qb's have a bad game if they don't throw 3-4 Td's. It wasn't that long ago that a Qb with a 25-30 Td pass season was considered a glorious freak and was idolized as an all-time great. Nowadays, a Qb who doesn't throw 25-30 Td's in a season might start fearing for his job or at least might expect to hear questions about his ability. The passing game is just completely out of hand and totally over emphasized in today's NFL and combined with the rule changes that cripple the defense the result is a watered down game that is losing the finer points of what the NFL used to be known for, the running game and defense. How long will it be before the NFL Hall of Fame just does away with defensive inductees and goes strictly to Qb's and receivers? I don't expect anything will change very soon but I know that today's younger fans are being treated to an inferior form of the game than what we older fans remember from the not-too-distant past. I shall now climb out of my way-back machine and return to my cave. ^&grin -- Al

I've said this before, but it's worth repeating; this is all due to the explosion in interest of fantasy football, this has 100% to do with that.

It's not my thing, but it's a huge business/hobby/interest/whatever you want to call it and it has changed the way the game is played, the emphasis is on offense as a result.

I guess this whole fantasy thing is part of the huge gaming trend that is so in vogue these days. I spotted the end of civilization as we knew it on Gumbel's HBO Real Sports show the other night. Accredited colleges are know offering gaming scholarships. Money to go to school and game yourself to a degree in...what? I quit. -- Al

I've never seen the point of gambling. To me, it's a waste of time and money. We went to Atlantic City once on one of these bus trips where they give you $20 to spend. I went into a casino, dropped the $20 in the slots and walked out. We were in Las Vegas last year as we flew in there before renting a car and going to see my son at St. George's, Utah. We stayed at the Tropicana. But for that I wouldn't gone there.

If you were wondering what the point of this ramble is, the point is that fantasy sites like Fan Duel and Draft Kings are for pure gambling, enticing people to try to make an easy buck. No such thing.

I remember when fantasy sports got started, it was a way for fans to have fun with stats but no or little money changed hands. It's been corrupted by people who just want to fleece the gullible.
