NFL 2015 Season (2 Viewers)

Jets are looking into him having not play this season. What looks bad is that a minor was in the car.

you kind of feel he's really squandering his second chance...

Mike,

A lot of these young fellas have been extended second chances since they were in middle-school. Many have been showered with attention, gifts and second chances by coaching staffs, school administrators, booster clubs, etc., for the majority of their lives. In that kind of environment, they don't have to grow up like the rest of us. Mercifully, most of them DO mature and lead productive lives on and off the field. But those that simply can't or won't sometimes run amok until they lose everything. Man, can you imagine what a shock it must be to them when they run out of second chances?

Hi Mike,

Lee's a great athlete. However, I simply don't see him as being physically capable of surviving a season at middle linebacker. They could move him to the weak-side, but wouldn't that make it harder to justify his salary? Should it come to pass that he's still on the active roster at the end of the season, I'll make a concerted effort to spell his name correctly!:wink2:

-Moe

hey Moe...

just kidding about the spelling...

I knew exactly what you meant...

and yes...he is a great athlete...

he has gotten little acknowledgement due to his injuries...

I think he's one of the Cowboy's best kept secrets...

2010 won NFL Defensive Player of the Week...

2011 won NFL Defensive Player of the Month...

2012 led the team with 131 tackles and 4 interceptions...

2013 won NFL Defensive Player of the Month...

he's had 11 interceptions in 4 years with limited playing time due to injuries...

he is a bona fide...hard hitting ball hawk with a great ability to recover fumbles and interceptions...

has his career been hampered with injuries...

yes...big time...

but a healthy Sean Lee can really add to their supposedly improved pass rush...

I thought they had already decided to move him to weak side linebacker this season...

I really can't see his presence or lack of make them drop to 4-12...

I hope you're wrong...it would be a long year to watch them win just 4 games...

Sheldon Richardson is Exhibit A as to why I do not believe in second chances.

you are all right...

it's hard to swallow when someone squanders their second chance just 2 weeks after their first one...
that just shows you're not taking this seriously...

Richardson is a very good example of that...

when you're lucky enough to garner one of the multi million life changing contracts...
you need to make the most of it...

when you screw up...you have to re-examine what a second screw up can do to your gold mine...

I still believe in second chances...we're all human...we all do dumb things...

I think second chances are deserving...

third chance...

I dunno...lol...

Fool me once...
Shame on you...
Fool me twice...
Shame on me...

that's twice for Richardson...and the worst part is...in just 2 weeks...

even though it's only a 30 minute drive from Galveston...
I'm not a huge Texan's fan...

hard news today on Arian Foster...

they are gonna miss his talent...

but then...

maybe they can put JJ Watts in as running back...^&grin

Aldon Smith is in trouble again. He is on his 17th chance now. From the Washington Post:

"Santa Clara police have confirmed that the San Francisco 49ers’ Aldon Smith was arrested on Thursday on charges of driving under the influence, hit-and-run and vandalism.

This is not the first time the 25-year-old has gotten in trouble with the law. In April 2014, he was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport for making a false bomb threat. In October 2013, the player was charged with three felonies related to the illegal possession of an assault weapon. And in both September 2013 and January 2012, he was arrested on suspicion of DUI."

For those of you keeping score at home, since January 2012 he has been arrested for 3 DUI's, 1 bomb threat and a weapons possession charge that included 3 felonies.

My son, who may be as big a fan as you are Jason called me; he told my wife to throw away his Aldon Smith jersey. He thinks Aldon is a total jerk, the West Coast version of Sheldon Richardson, and who can disagree with them.

The 49ers have released Aldon Smith. As George has said about these guys, a million dollar talent, with a .05 brain. I'm sure somebody will eventually take a chance on him.

Brad:

Your son was speaking for all Niner fans. Now that Smith has been released I hope the franchise can leave all of this behind and focus on the upcoming season.

-Jason

PS: I think I have mentioned this before, but I think that it is really cool that your son is a Niner fan!

YEAH Brad..nothing wrong with him getting a Kapernick tattoo or two or three...^&grin Michael

Jason,

I've mentioned to him how you are a Niners fans. The Niners are going to playing the Giants here in NJ this year and we're planning to go. He's pretty pessimistic about their chances this year, what with all the retirements and now this. Being a fan is never easy!

No tattoos Michael!

Brad:

Tell your son I think the Niners are going to be better than people expect. I am not going so far as to say they will make the playoffs but I think they will win a few more games than the experts are predicting.

-Jason

even if it's Pre-season...

it's nice to see Pittsburgh and Minnesota on tv...

good things are coming soon...

You beat me to it. Another chapter in the You Can't Make it Up Department. Unbelievable.

Hope you're right Jason. He told me he'd be surprised if they win more than 4 games.

Brad...

you're right...
as teams struggle to get through training camp and pre-season without any injuries...
this is just off the charts stupid...
nobody could have ever expected this...

I feel sorry for the Jet's fans...
this is a hellified bad break...

the line backer that sucker punched him and broke his jaw...has been released...not sure if any charges have been filed...

Through no fault of his own, this might be it for Geno. He was going to be on a short lease anyway. If Fitzpatrick is moderately successful, I doubt they will change QBs.

Well, in the world of litigation happy USA, I am sure Geno will be bringing a multi million dollar lawsuit that will say the altercation ruined his future earning potential when he is released. Sounds like they both are juvenile and Geno's big mouth wrote a check his rear couldn't cash......................bet we find out it had to do with a mother/wife or girlfriend comment..................
