you kind of feel he's really squandering his second chance...
Hi Mike,
Lee's a great athlete. However, I simply don't see him as being physically capable of surviving a season at middle linebacker. They could move him to the weak-side, but wouldn't that make it harder to justify his salary? Should it come to pass that he's still on the active roster at the end of the season, I'll make a concerted effort to spell his name correctly!:wink2:

Sheldon Richardson is Exhibit A as to why I do not believe in second chances.
Jets are looking into him having not play this season. What looks bad is that a minor was in the car.
Mike,
A lot of these young fellas have been extended second chances since they were in middle-school. Many have been showered with attention, gifts and second chances by coaching staffs, school administrators, booster clubs, etc., for the majority of their lives. In that kind of environment, they don't have to grow up like the rest of us. Mercifully, most of them DO mature and lead productive lives on and off the field. But those that simply can't or won't sometimes run amok until they lose everything. Man, can you imagine what a shock it must be to them when they run out of second chances?
-Moe
I'm sure somebody will eventually take a chance on him.
My son, who may be as big a fan as you are Jason called me; he told my wife to throw away his Aldon Smith jersey. He thinks Aldon is a total jerk, the West Coast version of Sheldon Richardson, and who can disagree with them.
Brad:
Your son was speaking for all Niner fans. Now that Smith has been released I hope the franchise can leave all of this behind and focus on the upcoming season.
-Jason
PS: I think I have mentioned this before, but I think that it is really cool that your son is a Niner fan!
Jason,
I've mentioned to him how you are a Niners fans. The Niners are going to playing the Giants here in NJ this year and we're planning to go. He's pretty pessimistic about their chances this year, what with all the retirements and now this. Being a fan is never easy!
No tattoos Michael!
Brad:
Tell your son I think the Niners are going to be better than people expect. I am not going so far as to say they will make the playoffs but I think they will win a few more games than the experts are predicting.
-Jason
You beat me to it. Another chapter in the You Can't Make it Up Department. Unbelievable.
Brad...
you're right...
as teams struggle to get through training camp and pre-season without any injuries...
this is just off the charts stupid...
nobody could have ever expected this...
I feel sorry for the Jet's fans...
this is a hellified bad break...
the line backer that sucker punched him and broke his jaw...has been released...not sure if any charges have been filed...
