NFL 2015 Season (1 Viewer)

Jason...

one way or the other...

it should be over soon...

Mike:

I hope you are right.

In the meantime my early SB pick is the Pats versus the Cowboys.

The game is in one of my backyards this year and if the match-up is intriguing enough I might try and score a ticket.

At this point I just wish the whole thing would go away.

Jason,
Hate to break it to you, but today on the local drive time sports talk radio station they had a legal expert on.

He talked about the theory that if the judge vacates the suspension, guess what; yep, the league will appeal the decision and this thing will go on.

And on and on and on.

for real?

wow...

HBO should pick this up as a 3 Season series...

He said the league could drag this out another year.

Or two.

To which the host said "Brady...........sorry, "Shady" could retire by then."

Love the deflated football hats with the needle sticking out of them two by the way; looks like a dried out cow chip sitting on top of some morons head.

Anything for a buck; the "Free Brady...........see, there I go again, "Free Shady" hats and shirts are idiotic too.

As is this entire thing at this point.

I think this will be settled; they held a settlement conference the day of the hearing. It does not do anybody any good to continue it. At some point cooler heads will prevail.

I think this has boiled down to a test of wills...

two stubborn...misguided...poorly advised..."don't mess with me" NFL celebrities...that refuse to bend on this issue...

like him or not...

Goodell is a well paid major force in the NFL...

Brady...well his record speaks for itself...

they are both icons in the NFL...

and neither is willing to bow to the other...

Goodell doesn't want his authority tested...

and Brady refuses to take any deal that stipulates he was involved in cheating...

nobody wants to be the next Barry Bonds...

I think Brady's biggest mistake...

providing that he is innocent...

is that he trashed his "get out of jail free card"...he destroyed the one piece of evidence that could end all speculation...

I think that totally incensed Goodell...

when he destroyed his phone...he lost a lot of credibility...

the phone was his proof of innocence...

if there was nothing on the phone...all he had to do was give it up for inspection...

I'm not saying there was anything on his phone...but I think he provoked Goodell when he trashed it...

I doubt any settlement will be made out of court...this has gotten too big...two of the biggest egos in the sport are butting heads

a judge will have to decide this...and in that case...I would expect the loser to appeal...

this may be resolves in 2016...

I don't think it will take that long to resolve. The Judge indicated both cases were not airtight.

This will be resolved by September 15 or a drink is on me at the Bar.

Note: offer only good for Michael and George ^&grin

deal...

and thank you for the offer...

now I have two reasons to get this settled asap...^&grin

They will probably have an investigation that drags on for months then both sides will head to court.

Jason...

that seems to be the way it works now...
the new rule in the NFL...
don't go anywhere without your attorney...

but the way I read the article...
I get the feeling the League is gonna really crack some butt on the next two guys that do this...

honestly...
it is an embarrassment to the NFL...

I think the directive they passed down to the teams is a clear warning...
heads will roll in a big way next time...

Mike:

It seems that the league wants to head this off at the pass before the teams and players get the idea that this behavior is acceptable.

I did find it interesting that the Redskins and Texans got into it while filming "Hard Knocks". I wonder how much the cameras being there added to the situation.
