NFL 2015 Season (1 Viewer)

best play of that game...

was in the 2nd quarter...
when Will Hill annihilated Arizona's big tight end...
with a monster hit that made him drop the ball...
and not get a first down...

Basically every week we have the ball trying to score the winning touchdown in the final drive.....and so it goes

They've lost 6 games by a combined 30 points, which works out to 5 points a game, which proves your point.

Just like with horse shoes and hand grenades, close isn't quite good enough; 1-6 is a huge hole to crawl out of, especially in that division.

Like Jason and Freddie Krueger, don't count the Ravens out nevermore..............

wow...

that was a blatant missed call on pass interference to LaFell...

defender hit him in the head and then grabbed hi arm before the ball reached him...

I need a big make-up call to rectify that...

yea...

it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things...

poor Miami couldn't cross the 50 til the 3rd quarter...

at 36-7...that call really didn't hurt...

How's about we just skip the formalities and just play the Super Bowl next week???????there are 30 other teams and then there Packers and Pats, yea I know Carolina, Broncos, Falcons but lets face it if the Pack/Pats continue to play the way they are right now no one will challenge them come play off time, Pats made the fins look like canned tuna tonite after the fins had made some good adjustments these last 2 weeks, the only thing this is going to stop by Pack/Pat Super Bowl is any serious injuries to Brady/Rodgers, other then that I can't see anything stopping these 2 teams, would be a good Super Bowl for sure...Sammy

I'm buying what you're selling; the only thing that would make it sweeter is if both teams go into the game 18-0 so that no matter what, the Doofins and their undefeated season are nevermore, forever shutting that fossil Shula and that fruitloop Mercury Morris up forever.................

I hate to be Captain Obvious again but the Dolphins are terrible.

Any professional journalist who had them even making the playoffs should be banned from any form of journalism forever. Forever.

I wouldn't mind witnessing a team going undefeated, as I was only 4 or 5 years old for the fins perfect season, like it to be the Ravens but if not them it would still be neat to see any team do it...kinda like pulling for the opposite pitcher when he's throwing a perfect game against your team :)...Sammy

They won two in a row after firing blood and guts Philbin to two tomato can teams, the media around here whipped everyone into a frenzy and made it seem like the 1972 Doofins were coming to town.

Once they were down 7 zip and they gave up that safety on that boneheaded snap, they were all done.

Just like the media here the week before made the Jets coming to town seemed like the 1969, 2009 and 2010 versions all rolled into one.

The media in this town loves to built opponents up like their going to come here and destroy the Patriots; good, let them keep doing it, I've tuned them out a long time ago.

Going undefeated in this water down of talent enviroment vs the year of the Dolfins means nothing. Going back to the old rules of engagement then, with the quality of the thugism then, the quarterbacks and players of today would be huddled in a corner, calling for their mommy or superstar model head of household to fix their sizable booboos. No 450 yards per game passing stats, and since no one can rush today, no running game, no reciever running free but running for their lives, dead quarterbacks on the field, since scrambling is no longer required nor practiced. No, nothing to see here today, when folks talk about how great a team is today..Michael

Several excellent points here. This product the NFL offers today is certainly inferior to what was on the field 3 or more decades ago. Going undefeated is, however, quite the accomplishment, even if it is a watered down league. Witness the simple fact that it hasn't been done since '72, even in the current offensive happy environment. Might not be as impressive but undefeated is undefeated. Still, a little defense, a little up-the-gut running game, and maybe even a QB that can call his own game without microwave technology, I would find a welcome development.:wink2: -- Al

I don't care how watered down the league is, or how wimpy its rules are, any team that goes undefeated (and there are 6 candidates right now) has to be considered great. Additionally, frankly, until the rise of the Steelers in the mid-1970's, I thought the league was pretty watered down when I was a kid too. The Giants stunk on ice. The 49ers stunk on ice. The Jets got awful right after 69. The Packers were in the tank too. With the exception of the Cowboys, Steelers and Raiders, the league was pretty bad when Miami went undefeated, but they are still the measuring stick.

For me the high-point of NFL product was the 1980's and early 1990's. There were unbelievable defenses on the field, and under the old rules, the way football was meant to be played, todays quarterbacks, running backs and receivers would melt like ice in the desert. Could you imagine how quickly most of today's quarterback would be out against ferocious pass rushers like Lawrence Taylor, Bruce Smith or Reggie White, who could hit you in the head, or the knees, or anywhere they could get their hands on you? Or the undersized fast slot receivers of today trying to catch a pass across the middle against the likes of middle line backers like Mike Singletary and Harry Carson, or safeties like Ronnie Lott, Steve Atwater or Myron Guyton? If they had the guts to even try, they would have been carried off the field in the first quarter, never to return.

The only team today that would have bee a winner in that era, playing by the old tough-guy rules is the Patriots. I don't know that the Patriots would have been a dynasty like they have been in this century, but Brady and Belichek would have found a way to win back then, except maybe against the 49ers, Giants, Raiders and Cowboys of the 1980's to early 1990's.

OK, let's hear some opinions...let's say the '58 Baltimore Colts (Unitas, Berry, Moore, Amache, Donavan, Big daddy Lipscomb, Marchetti, Parker etc. took on the Super Bowl winner New England Patriots of last year, with the NFL rules/regulations of the 58 game in play..who would win??? could Brady take the head shots as Unitas did in some of those games??? or would the Pats offense with the size/strength of todays players kill Donavan/Marchetti up front and the speed of the receivers to blow by any secondary of the 58 Colts?? I think most folks think todays NFL would destroy the 50s-60s teams, but I believe it would be a lot closer then most think...Sammy

as a football fan...

I think you know when you have hit rock bottom...

when you host a 3-4 team in your own stadium...

and you are still a 7 1/2 point Vegas dog...

then things are pretty bad...

granted 3 of the 4 Seahawk's losses were to 6-0 Green Bay...6-0 Cincinnati and 6-0 Carolina...

so maybe their record isn't indicative of how good/bad they really are...

but still...this looks to be 3 hours of TV torture for me today...

hopefully Dez Bryant back in limited action will draw some double coverages...

and maybe the Cowboys can put together a strong running game to control the clock...

but all I have read is that Sherman will cover him solo...

maybe Hardy will pick up and throw the special teams coach at their punt/kick off returners...

and we will get a stop...

Todays much larger, stronger faster players would destroy any team from pre-1980, including the great Steelers teams of the 1970's. However, putting the Patriots of today against the 49ers or Giants of the 1980's, or the Cowboys of the early 1990's, under the old rules? That would be a contest worth seeing.

not seeing it Lou...todays athlete are on the bench for 2-3 weeks for a nose bleed, or broken finger nail so the way I have seen those guys hit and how they were allowed to hit back in 50s, 60s and 70s..I don't think you would have 50 % percent of your starters of todays players left by the 3rd quarter, no doubt the modern player are faster, stronger, bigger but the rules of the NFL today would be their biggest asset, wish there was some sort of time machine to see a few match ups for sure,..give me the Lombardi's ''60 Packers vs. the 80's 49ers!!!...Sammy

Sorry Sammy, its men against boys size and strength wise. The average lineman weighed 215 lbs in 1950. The weigh 315 lbs today. The quarterbacks today are bigger than the linemen were in 1950. It wouldn't even be a contest.

For the pinball football fans out there, I hope you are watching the Giants/Saints game. No defense, no running, but lots of passing and scoring. Both Qb's have more Td passes than incompletions to this point in the game, which the Saints lead 35-28 with 9 minutes left in the 3rd. -- Al
