This game is in record territory. 12 Td passes between Manning and Brees and it still ain't done with the Giants leading 49-42 with 2 minutes left. -- Al

Brees just threw his 7th Td pass to tie the game at 49 with 36 seconds remaining. 13 combined Td passes is the NFL record for a single game. Brees also has 511 yards passing. Norm Van Brocklin holds the single game record of 554 yards, set in 1951. Brees can set the record in OT. -- Al
Nevermind. Saints win at the gun with a FG, 52-49. Like I said...Pinball.

The Saints scored 52 points. The Niners have a total of 109 points this season. That is just about 13 points per game. You can blame part of it on Harbaugh's departure but you can't ignore Kaepernick's poor play any longer.
 
I told my son he needs to go but he said the backup is worse. How much worse could he be? What, the Niners will only score three points?

That is the third time this season where Coughlin's inability to manage a clock in the last two minutes cost the Giants a game. It is also yet another game where the lack of talent on the New York Giant defense became glaringly obvious. I think it is about time that both Coughlin and Jerry Reece were cut loose.

It was more a bad punt and facemask penalty on the punter that lost this game as well as porous defence..Michael
 
Just when you think Peyton is about washed up, he comes up big and shreds Green Bay. Impressive win for Denver who I thought had been a lucky winner prior to tonight but they obviously have something going defensively. -- Al
 
I watched a couple of minutes and was surprised at the result.

Great day for NY sports yesterday: 0-3 {eek3}

And that's why they play the games!!!!!!!!!!!! the Broncos looked like the all world team last nite and the Pack looked like a bunch bottom feeders!!!! Rodgers looked terrible as the Denver defense was on him all nite, Super Bowl rematch???? who knows in this league anymore??? my Ravens did win one yesterday, only 8 more in a row to grab that last playoff spot possibly??^&grin...Sammy
 
yea...there pass rush defense was pretty formidable last night...

Rodgers was under pressure every play...

first time I have seen Denver play all year...

but...the guy that y'all refer to as "noodle arm"...and keep telling me his career is washed up...

he looked pretty friggin accurate anywhere he chose to put the ball...

and is now 7-0...

Mike, while we're waiting, got a book recommendation for you. Authored by a sportswriter named Steve Perkins, the title is Next Year's Champions. It was written before Dallas won its first super-bowl. Nothing else that I've come across more deftly captures the hype surrounding a team that so rarely lives up to the expectations of the media and its fans. In the meantime, we're in for a rough-patch. Things are gonna be particularly ugly, because the team has been scheduled into so many featured time-slots for television. The horror!:redface2:

Moe...

so somebody wrote a book about the Cowboys...
and the theme of the book is...
that they rarely live up to the expectations of the media and its fans?

and it was written before they won their first Superbowl?

the first Superbowl was in 1967...

4 years later...in 1971...Dallas played in Superbowl V...but lost...

then in 1972...the very next year...
they won Superbowl VI...

since then...Dallas has won 5 Championship trophies...

only bested by the Steelers and tied by the 49er's...

some fans and the media are tough to deal with...

a lot of people have that...
"what have you done for me lately" attitude...
I'm guessing the author of this book included...
the author sounds a little impatient to me...
I don't think it's a book I would enjoy...

some teams have never won a Superbowl...

Dallas and New England are probably the two most loved/hated franchises in the NFL...
and there is a reason for that...

but...they have given me years of entertainment...
plus the 5 Superbowl wins...

if they were healthy...
I really feel like they are a much better team than the last 5 games indicate...
they have a better than average pass rush...
a mediocre secondary...that will improve as the pass rush improves...
a solid running game...
decent receivers...but they run God awful lazy routes...

and 2 of the worst replacement QB's you could ever find...

the team's internal problems are amplified by the media...

if Jerry Jone's fart smells funny...

it's a headline on the sports page...

it's like kicking a man when he's down...

people love to hate the Cowboys...

perhaps the expectations of the author...the fans...and the media is a little unrealistic...

all I can do as a fan...is grin and bear it...


"we're in for a rough patch"...

hahaha...

I have already had a rough patch...

I was so excited to get this year started...

a 2-0 start that is now 2-5...
