NFL 2015 Season (2 Viewers)

So Green Bay and Carolina are the two best teams in the NFC; wow, great effort by Green Bay last night and the Colts are giving the Panthers all they can handle.

You've got three undefeated teams in the AFC, the Patriots/Broncos game is going to be epic.

The talking heads today are having a field day over Manning, he's got the cleanest balls in town today; yeah, that week off had nothing to do with his performance last night right?

That defense is very good; we'll see what they do with Edelman, Amendola, LaFell, Gronk and Lewis and when they go empty backfield, two tight end set, throw Chandler in there.

You can't cover them all and Brady will find the open guy.

Week 11 can't come fast enough.

The Kapernick Era, such as it was, is over; he's been benched.

So goes the Steelers - Ben comes back, Defense and Ben play 3.5 qtrs. of good football. THEN 3 interceptions later, lost game to the Bungles. Just great, and oh to top it off - Bell out for the season. What a year.................

TD

Real classy for Broncos DB Talib Alib, walks over to a Colts player and jabs him in his eyes with 2 fingers!!! basically giving the Colts the game with 2 minutes left and a fresh set of downs.

The Pats just keep on rollin, not much different there.

Packers have hit a mid season slump and now the Vikings are tied with them for first place...shocker!!!

Steelers are about as unlucky as my Ravens with the injury bug this year, (except they are still winning) Rothenburger out again for a few weeks.

I was waiting for Mike Zimmer to get into a rumble after the game. It's one thing to get a clean hit on a quarterback...it's another to drive his head into the ground when he's sliding. Someone's wallet will be lighter by mid-week...I wonder if a suspension is in order.

If the Rams and Vikes meet again anytime soon, it's going to get ugly.

Of the 4 first ballot Hall of Fame QB's that played Sunday, Brady, Brees, Manning and Rodgers (I am not counting Roethlisberger as he was injured and did not finish his game) Brady was the only winner. Big passing statistics are great, but winning is still the most important stat.

I am not a fan of the quarterback coddling that is the NFL today. Promotes fantasy football stats and gamblers delights instead of just how good is that quarterback in a enviroment of fear of being crushed ,as in the good old days. When the quarterbacks of the past era were scrambling, there was an expectation of getting hit, and so they at least tried to go out of bounds to avoid it. Now, these pretty boys just rumble up the middle with the expectation of nothing, as long as they would slide and say no mas..Total woose out of what is supposed to be a violent game. That is how it was concieved as a gladiator sport with armored thugs beating each others brains' out and quarterbacks running for their lives..A pocket in the old days was something to bury the quarterback in...Rant over and not directed at any particular team (except maybe Patriots) or particular play..Michael

Class vs no class; when asked about the game ending INT, Rodgers put the blame himself, saying he got spooked/scared out there and made a bad decision.

When Frankeforehead out in Denver was asked about one of his two INT's, he said "The reciever was in the wrong spot on that pass", ie, blaming him for it.

This is the same guy who threw his entire offensive line under the bus after one of his playoff losses in Indy (I forget which one; there were so many to choose from, it gets confusing).

This is the same stooge who was throwing shots at the media for doubting him after his performance vs Green Bay............guess he forgot he had two weeks to rest his noodle arm before that game.

How anyone can be a fan of this crybaby is beyond my comprehension, he of the whopping stats and one Super Bowl win, a win he got thanks to his defense playing out of their minds in the playoffs and the luck of the draw, playing the tomato can Bears in that Super Bowl...................

I was delighted to see the Colts take it to Manning and it was probably only the Broncos' stupidity that cost them a chance to win the game.

Leave it to Nike to ruin a good thing; the messed with the Jets uniform and Thursday night, they'll be wearing an all green get up that has to be seen to be believed. Just hideous; the Jets have one of the most iconic uniforms in football. Theirs, the Raiders, Packers and Steelers uniforms are not to be messed with.

Stay out of Foxboro please Nike.....................

The NY Attorney General has ordered Draft Kings and Fan Duel to stop taking bets from NY users as he considers it gambling. The ruling could have a far reaching effect as NY tends to be a trend setter in consumer protection.

Given that these sites have powerful backers like major sports and one of these sites are partially owned by Jerry Jones and Robert Kraft, the decision will be likely appealed.

But how are people in NY supposed to put up 32.00 and win 2 million like the bozos in the commercials??..........................:rolleyes2:................back to court for the NFL, oh goodie...............^&grin

It's not the NFL that's going to court but the two companies.

I hope these companies are put out of business.

As P.T. Barnum said, "There is a sucker born every minute." And these gambling sites prove the rule over and over. Sure, one or two get lucky, beat the odds, and walk off rich. It's the other 5 million suckers pouring their dollars into the system who finance those 'winners' and no one ever seems to be able to make that point clear to them. Hope springs eternal. State lottos make a fortune off the masses who believe that the next ticket they buy will be the winner. Always has been, always will be. Now, excuse me while I scratch off my winning numbers... -- Al

Brad...

from what I have read...
by law...
I don't think this is considered a gambling site...

not to be a stickler for semantics...

but I think it is considered a "gaming site"...

there is no "handicap" involved in the process...

"the house"...has no advantage over the player...

it's not like the site charges 10% vig on a wager...per say...

and it's not like the the event is handicapped by a "+ or -" on the points...

the site has no real advantage over the player...

I think it is being allowed to operate as the site basically collects the money...
something like a football board or a office pool...
calculates the biggest winner...
takes a commission for their work...
and pays off the winner...

other than being bombarded with commercials...
the site doesn't bother me at all...

and yes...
the sites have aligned themselves with some big friends...
both owners and advertising endorsements from the NFL...

I actually played one of these a few weeks ago...

after golf we went to eat and one of my friends plays it and let me do a 25 cent entry on his phone...

you start with a market cap..."X" amount of dollars...

you must pick 9 categories...

you select 1 QB...2 running backs...2 wide receiver...1 tight end...an entire defense...etc...

you use your market cap to pay for them...

you have to manage your money to get a full roster...

if you pick too many superstars...
you run out of money and have to re-pick til you have a full roster under the cap...

then press submit...

the pool I entered had over 20,000 entries...

I placed 17,000 from the top...
lower 85% bracket....
not too good...
no winnings for me...^&grin

it was kind of fun...
I didn't know what I was doing...
but I can see the allure to playing...

I'm just not so sure it's illegal as the house has no advantage...
they just manage the software and take a small percentage for that...

I don't claim to be an expert but part of the problem is that some people are trading on inside information.

Secondly, people are allowed to place bets once the games have started. That is akin to placing a bet after a horse race is started, which is illegal. That has to be stopped.

as far as me being an expert on this topic either...
I stated just about everything I know concerning these sites in the previous 2 posts...
so I'm no expert either...

however...
I caught a Sirius XM ESPN talk show with the owner of one of these sites a few months ago...

he admitted that some employees...
in the past...
have won what he called insignificant amounts...
using or having access to some company software...
that tracks logarithms of past and hopefully future results...

he claimed...
a new policy has been put in place......
that employees are now forbidden to play...
which he needed to do...

some of these employee wins were in excess of $200,000.00...
which seems pretty significant to me...
but he countered in the grand scheme of things...
that their winnings are a minute fraction of what the site pays out...

the allegations of betting after the game has started...
I have not heard that...
but that opens a whole new can of stink for me if that is true...

if you're allowed to watch Brady throw 2 quick TD's in the first quarter...
and then get the opportunity to select him as your QB...
well...
yes...that is a totally unfair advantage...

How are NFL owners allowed to be involved in this? Sounds like trouble.
