NFL 2015 Season (1 Viewer)

What a massive overreaction.

Goodell is the best thing that ever happened to Gary Bettman.

The team was cleared of wrongdoing in the report, but they still get clipped for two draft picks and a million dollars.

Well, this is one way of leveling the playing field in the NFL and bring the Patriots back to the rest of the pack.

Ray Rice got two games for knocking his girlfriend unconscious, Brady gets four games for possibly, maybe, sort of being involved.

No solid proof, but the people wanted this, so Goodell caved in and appeased the public.

What a Hell of a commissioner.

He's still pissed at the organization over spygate, so he whacked them again.

Guess I won't be making that trip to Dallas now..........................................

Wow!!!! Just got a break here at work and read the ruling....must say I feel the Pats pain as my Ravens went through all this media craziness last year with Rice, my opinion the punishment doesn't fit the crime, but Brady better hope a video doesn't surface or his career is over!! Hang in there George, the Pats like I know they are will rally around Brady and that team is to good to roll over...Sammy

The ruling is in; Brady suspended four games, Patriots lose a first round pick and a fourth round pick and the team is fined 1 million dollars.

So even though the Wells report found the organization not responsible, they still got whacked.

Hope everyone is happy; as a fan, the 2015 season just got flushed down the toilet.

Wonderful.

Had Brady just admitted that he Oked the deflation and did not realized that they were illegal, and apoligised, the actual stated league penalty is $25000.00 and nothing else. This is all on Brady and no one else. MORE THAN LIKELY, HE HAS BEEN CHEATING ALL YEAR. Just got caught by a team not coached by " I know nothing " Harbaugh of the Ravens..Michael

Sammy. how do you know that Brady did not cheat during your team's playoff game with them. Some of your own players thought there was a ball problem, but your know it all coach dismissed them..Michael

If your coach had not fostered an atmosphere of corruption in the administration, maybe Brady plays the games straight and loses like he might have otherwise. Amazing how the Pats lost almost no fumbles last year with less than all star running backs . A smaller, softer football does that for you. Michael

Right; the Ravens tipped off the league, so the league should have then contacted New England and told them to knock it off. Or, better yet since other teams have done it, at that point, send out a league wide letter.

Just like they did before spygate.

And if New England got caught, then fine, punish them just like they did with spygate.

This was a sting operation set up by the league to nail them.

Just suspend Brady and get it over with; four games appealed down to two, they'll start out 0-2 and go from there.

If they miss the playoffs as a result and teams like the Ravens and Jets miss the playoffs because the Steelers and Bills won two games they probably wouldn't have won had Brady played, I'm sure their fans will understand.

Their teams will miss the playoffs, but it's all about the integrity of the game afterall............:rolleyes2:

Oh and one other thing; since 2006 when the teams were allowed to doctor the balls prior to games, in 65 home games, Brady has thrown 131 TD passes, in 64 road games, he's thrown 138.

Can any of you Wyle E Coyote geniuses who want to see Brady shot in front a firing squad for this heinous offense care to explain those stats away to me?

Ya'll do know that they do not bring their own ballboys on the road, right; the home team supplies them. You fellas know that, right? I hope you do.

And as far as the fumble rate; same thing, I forget the stat, but they fumbled more over that time period at home than on the road.

And as someone else had mentioned; QBs are quirky creatures of habit, much like MLB pitchers who want the mound and the ball a certain way; if Brady DEMANDED balls with lower PSI in them, how could he possibly perform under opposite conditions on the road?

Wouldn't his stats be off the charts in the opposite direction on the road?

Again; I'll wait for any of you geniuses to put your pitchforks and torches down and take a break from storming the castle and explain the stats, the stats don't lie, you can't fudge the stats...........................

I just realized, why do we even care what you think about all this.. You are the only one defending a crooked coach and a crooked quarterback..Together, they might have impacted any number of games into wins for them...They have made their own bed of astericks and question marks when their names are spoken in public, from this moment on. My work is done. The Patriots' virtue, reputation, and honor will always be tarnished.. Red Sox nation, next. ,Michael

That's quite an award winning string of posts there Michael.

I think your tin foil hat is on a wee bit too tight.

BRADY HAS BEEN CHEATING ALL YEAR; explain to me how you define cheating.

Before you answer, did you see the post I made where I quoted actual STATISTICAL FACTS; Brady threw 131 TD passes in 64 home games since 2006, 138 TD passes in 65 away games.

You do know that when on the road, the ballboys are supplied by the home team right?

Jesus.

Somehow I missed this gem of a post.

Yep, they cheated their way to four super bowl wins, six trips to the Super Bowl and nine AFCCG's in the past fifteen years.

Cheated every step of the way.

I love you too Mike.

I don't know if any footballs were deflated in the Raven/Pat playoff game and I refuse to get caught up in the 'what ifs" bull, even if the footballs were lighter that game it was decided on running, passing, tackling and a lack of a real defensive backfield (Ravens D. couldn't stop one drive in that second half) so other fans of other teams can get riled and all fired up about the "my team would have won if not for yada yada" I'm not one of them 2014 is in the books the Pats are the NFL Champs, this is now 2015, let's go Ravens!!!!!!!...Sammy

Although some sort of punishment was anticipated (notwithstanding the lack of clear and convincing evidence) four games is excessive and may get knocked down to where the NFL may have wanted it to be, 2. However, the sanctions against the Patriots make little sense, based upon the conclusions of the Wells Report. I'm sure the Patriots and Brady will find little satisfaction from the person who hears the appeal, Roger Goodell, which is why it may wind up in the judicial system.

Maddadicus speaks like a true NY fan -- probably a Giants one -- but has let his passion get the better of him. As a Jets fan I have no love for Brady but this is just another cock up by Goodell. Amazing that he is the son of the former Senator, an honorable man and hard working Senator. Too old for most of you but I remember him from the 60s.

Sorry Brad.

He's no Giants fan.

He's one of yours.

Best of luck with that one.

I thought Brady and the equipment lackeys were employees of the Patriots? Just because no one else in the organization was apparently involved doesn't mean this has nothing to do with the Pats. Employers are often held accountable for the actions of their employees. The Pats certainly benefited as an organization from winning a Super Bowl by having Brady on the team. The only goof by Goodell was not suspending Brady from the Super Bowl or erasing that game from history like the NCAA does. A four week vacation to spend in his palace with his supermodel wife (ok spending time with her might be a form of punishment) while his sycophants fly him around in a helicopter to pep rallys is not the end of the world. I wouldn't waste too many tears on that. I do agree that anything short of mass murder is subject to a reduction in penalities in the NFL. So I wouldn't be surprised if Shady doesn't miss a game. It's also "more probable than not" that the equipment managers will also be driving some nice cars soon.

Based on a thorough analysis of the deflategate tragedy, and in the context of other historically momentous events, the highest probability outcome from this gruesome spectacle, resulting from what can only be described as grotesque, heinous and obscenely offensive acts, is that the world comes to an end as we know it.

Enjoy what little time left there is of humankind.

If and when Brady appeals this…and I don’t think he should…(I would prefer he would just fess up…give a sincere humble apology…and lets move on)…

I think one of the first things they are going to ask him for at his appeal…is for access to his texts…as he has refused to release these before…I don’t see why he would now…but this may be a great thing for him and the NE organization...if he can offer up texts that prove he had nothing to do with this…then everybody can apologize to Tom…Kraft…the NE fan base and all penalties can be rescinded…and maybe this is what will happen…

His refusal to make his texts public seems so extremely incriminating to me…I think Goodell is incensed that Brady refuses to give up his texts…thus not cooperating in this investigation…Goodell gave up his personal texts in the Ray Rice case and I think he believes Brady feels he is above the law…the league has guaranteed “extraordinary measures to safeguard and protect Brady’s unrelated personal information”…

I don’t text…but I email…and sometimes I make comments that I don’t want public…they are for the reader’s ears only…I wouldn’t want to disclose my personal emails…but as they said they would only make texts pertinent to this issue public…if Brady is innocent…he should be willing to offer these up…and he should expect this to be the first thing the appeal official will ask for…

Brad…I asked you a simple “yes or no” question a few posts back…if you thought Brady was in collusion with the ball handlers prior to the game…which I gave you the option to refuse answering…and you did…which I kind of expected…I’m pretty sure I know why…and please don’t feel the need to respond now…

but I just want to say…if I ever do anything wrong…I want you on my jury deciding my fate…your reluctance to ignore overwhelming evidence and rely on your ratio of guilt to innocence theory…I need you on my jury...

I will just rely on my defense of denying any wrongdoing and with no video of a smoking gun…I think you’ll let me off…

I saw your question Mike but I'm not on the witness stand so if I choose not to answer it, well, I don't have to; I don't report to you.

The question for me is whether there was sufficient evidence to show that he colluded with the ball handlers. I don't think there was or if there was, the judgment was based on a very weak evidentiary standard. That being the case your question is not able to be answered.

You and others argue that he should have turned over his phone to the investigators. That is equivalent to making a defendant take the stand. Under our system, a defendant can't be required to testify against himself.

If he has the right to appeal he should, if that's what he wants to do; that's his choice.

Now, about whether you would want me on a jury in a case involving you, you most definitely would not:wink2:

you certainly don't report to me Brad...and I wasn't asking for your report...it was just a simple question...you seem so opinionated on the topic but won't commit to an answer...after a half dozen posts with a lot of repetitive rhetoric...I was curious of your opinion...but it's cool...I understand your reluctance to pick a side......:wink2::wink2:

and that was poorly worded by me...no...I would not want you personally on my jury...just 12 people that think like you...:wink2::wink2:

So you want to hold the NCAA up as a bastion of truth, justice and the American way?

Yeah, the NCAA is so on the strait and narrow.:rolleyes2:

I really don't get the Brady hate; here's a kid who wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth like the Mannings, was drafted in the 6th round and was lucky his rookie year the team decided to carry four quarterbacks; if he was cut, he'd be selling insurance today.

The only reason he got a shot here was because Mo Lewis almost killed Drew Blesoe (HEY MICHAEL; THANKS FROM A PATRIOTS FAN TO A JETS FAN.......THANKS TO THE JETS, BRADY GOT HIS SHOT) and the rest as they say is history.

So he married a super model; what did you want the kid to do, marry some mutant with a horn sticking our of her forehead?

Jesus.

You don't think he should?

So he should leave 2 million on the table?

Would you man up Mike and leave 2 million on the table?

Yeah, I didn't think you would.

You only want him to serve the full suspention because the Patriots play the Cowboys in week 4.

No agenda, right Mike?

And are you seriously back on the "he should hand over his phone" horse?

OF ALL ORGANIZATIONS, the NFL is the ONE organization I wouldn't trust with my phone records.

Mortensin reported this deflategate pile of BS story the MONDAY morning after the AFCCG; it took the league less than 12 hours to leak that out to Mortensin.

I wouldn't trust the NFL with a potato peeler, nevermind my phone.

The NFL has covered themselves in glory here; no smoking gun, no hard evidence, so they resorted to the "You didn't cooperate enough in the investigation, so suspensions, fines and loss of draft picks instread."

What's the million dollar fine for Kraft all about; the Wells report CLEARED BOTH THE ORGANIZATION AND THE COACH, so what's with the fine and the loss of draft picks?

What's the million for; to help pay for the cost of the investigation, what else?

This was nothing short of a sting operation and a witch hunt by the NFL to catch the Patriots doing something; when they didn't come up with hard evidence of wrongdoing, on to plan B to appease the masses who were screaming for Brady's head on a platter. Goodell shows as usual, he has no sack, he caves in and goes overboard to look like a hard ***.

He's nothing short of a moron, he's no hard ***, he's an idiot who was born on third base, he couldn't run a taco stand, never mind the most powerful sports league in the United States.

Like numerous people across the news and the internet who are not tied in to sports said; it's not about the actual crime, it's the percieved cover up.

Awesome; so they got hammered for what the NFL views as lack of cooperation.

I hope Kraft goes Al Davis on the league and sues their ***** off.

The only people who are happy about this are opposing teams fans, opposing players, owners and former bitter players, all of whom couldn't beat the Patriots on the field.

So the NFL did it for them off the field.

Pretty aggressive George…you just rolled this off a hill for you and me...

Between Giselle and Tom’s net worth…is 2 million really that big of a deal to him?

what is his net worth?

$410 million....................

My hidden agenda???

I would like to win that game…I would be lying if I said different…but I would prefer to play Tom Brady over Garoppolo…I’m not like you…I don’t live and die over Sundays score…it’s just another day in my life…I still eat dinner and sleep when the Cowboys lose...I'm not like you...

The NFL offered to have Brady’s lawyer inspect his messages personally and turn them over to the league…his own lawyer…Brady declined…his own lawyer…do you think Brady trusts his own lawyer?

The million dollar fine…the draft picks…I know you told me that Kraft is gonna have him fired for this…in fact you said Goodell doesn’t have the balls and you personally dare him to chastise NE…

but Kraft was pretty arrogant…he demanded an apology after Brady was cleared…when he looked TB in the eyes and TB said he did nothing wrong…Kraft’s blind faith got the best of him…he stood by his side like a lovestruck girlfriend…well Brady wasn't cleared... he made a fool out of Kraft...and the fans were made fools of too...

The million dollar fine against the club was because these flunkies were employees of the club…they were employed by the club…the club is responsible for their actions…

The million dollar fine was because the organization did not cooperate…NE refused to even notify the ball attendant for a fourth interview…smart move…thumb your nose at the league…brilliant…

This is why the million dollar fine and draft picks were levied against the organization…

The cost of the investigation…yep...what a waste of money...Brady should of just fessed up and saved the league that $$$…that’s on Brady…he forced them to investigate…

Yes…I think you are beginning to finally understand now…it’s the lies…it’s the lack of cooperation…it’s the cover up…it's the run around...Brady caused all of this...Brady personally...

The people happy with this decision…yep…every group you stated…and one more group…

people like me…who now think Brady is a liar and a cheat…

It wasn’t that long ago that I told you I loved Brady…twist it anyway you want now…that man is a liar and a cheat…

Blind Faith…

Just heard the Wells interview.

Stunning.

My favorite part; asked about which gauge Walt Anderson used, Wells associate Reisner said "It doesn't matter, it doesn't change the science."

Wait; what?

If I step on one scale and it reads 250, then step on another and it reads 248; I haven't lost two pounds, now have I?

The referees from the AFCCG also stated they had no idea that a ball set at 12.5 PSI would lose pressure in cold weather.

So these are the stooges who remeasured the balls at halftime, boobs who have no clue about the science of PSI?

This appeal, if nothing else, is going to be interesting.
