NFL 2015 Season (2 Viewers)

The Patriots have issued a rebuttal to the Wells Report, in what can best be described as taking the offensive. The Patriots have decided not to go quietly into the good night but contest this full head on, mincing no words.

What you have is one of the most powerful owners taking on a Commissioner that he has strongly supported, friend vs. friend.

This has the potential to get ugly very fast.

A lawyer on the tube said that it may not be in Brady's interest to push this matter into federal court, as he and others would have to turn over all texts, tweets, calls ,etc. and not be able to stonewall as he has. Plus his potential lies would have criminal penalties attached...Michael

Since George keeps all of us toy soldier customers, ( sports enemies ),close, buttering him up will not get you any discounts. We would switch team loyalty in a heartbeat if it did.^&grin Michael

Michael:

Sorry but I buy from Sierra. I am pretty sure Mike is a soccer fan and I would butter him up by cheering for his favorite club but I don't understand most of the names of the teams.

Mr. Kraft has taken the high road and reluctantly accepted the penalty given to the Patriots by the NFL, reasoning that they're part of the NFL, are there for the greater good and wish to end the rhetoric on this matter.

I suppose the next mood is up to Brady. I'm sure if the NFL offers to reduce his suspension by a game or two, he will drop the appeal.

Maybe he found out that his quarterback did have the ball doctored and it was time to just shut down any further investigation. Excuse my anti Pats cynical reasoning..:redface2:Michael

It could be a little of that except that I heard he had a heart to heart with Brady, who said he didn't do anything wrong. No, I think it's more in the nature of wanting to move past this for both the League and the Patriots' sake.

Brady said he din't give his phone because they
would ask for it for any reason jn the future to anybody
that's why the players association is backing him up
It's protecting the players in the future

is anybody following the Aaron Hernandez trial?

this is turning into the most bizarre story...

forget the surreal trial for a second...and it is unreal...

but since he has been incarcerated...

he has been sent to segregation for acting as a lookout for a fight...

now has gotten an illegal prison tattoo that says...

"Lifetime"...

I'm sure the judge loves his new ink while Hernandez is defends himself in court...

this guy is absolutely crazy!!!

Brady din't give his phone because the players
association asked him not to.
Anybody want's to read the Wells report will
find out that the colts had deflated football
Well well where is the integrity of the NFL
We know that the NFL has no integrity just
greed. Go ahead NFL charge 5 millions to
honor the veterans and war heroes
If it wasn't for them there might be no NFL
Goodel is a piece of s--t

I'm surprised that his attorney hasn't alleged he is the victim of concussions or brain injuries from playing football. Try to make him the victim. Or maybe he has and they didn't buy it. The guy is clearly a few fries short of a happy meal. Things are not likely going to end well for him with his attitude. He will PO the wrong guy there. Football and basketball players are brought up in this country from childhood like celebrities. Guys with NFL talent are taught from 8th grade on that no rules apply to them. It's no surprise that more than a few turn out to be arrogant jerks or worse. Maybe not often to this level, but still criminals, liars and all around jerks that are constantly in trouble. You don't see that as much in baseball and hockey because those sports don't have the same high money stakes and media coverage at earlier stages that corrupt these guys in their formative years. A sad story for everyone involved.

First bountygate, now this, second offense for the Aints.

Good old Rog will now drop the hammer, loss of a first and a fourth round pick, suspend the player for four games and fine the team one million dollars. That seems fair to me as there is a pattern now afterall.

OR, because it's not the Patriots, he'll just sweep it under the rug..................:rolleyes2:

Not sure the story behind the story there, but it looks like self defense to me, he's getting attacked from all sides; again, not sure what happened before the camera started rolling, but it looks like an all out, full on brawl.

Been in the middle of a couple of those in the past, I swung at anything that moved towards me not wearing heels or having long hair................

I saw a beach ball in the background being deflated for use in the fight, clearly the NFL needs to begin an immediate investigation.

Let's hire Wells again, he did such a brilliant job building a house of cards of a case over deflategate.

Guess the clueless boob never heard of the ideal gas law.

Effing clown.

Nice 1970's porn mustache he's sporting too by the way.

OK, let me first say I am not a Cowboys fan.

However, every player in every professional league should take notes from Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain on how to deal with being suspended for using performance enhancing drugs. Here is his quote in reaction to being suspended for four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy:

''I apologize to my family, the Cowboys organization, my teammates and Cowboys fans for my mistake,'' McClain said in a statement issued through the players association. ''I will not break the rules of my profession in the future, and I regret my error.''

No magic and no excuses. He didn't say that he cut himself shaving and the razor blade was tainted with PED's, he didn't blame the testing company or the messenger who took his sample, he didn't throw anyone under the bus. He stood up, accepted the blame for his mistake, apologized to those that were affected by his actions and said he will not do it again. Imagine that?

All those statements sound the same. I'm sure that the PR department has a form they use (just like I do for various types of agreements); Sheldon Richardson was suspended for four games today and his statement sounds remarkably similar. Nothing really unique there.

yea...that's kind of "standard apology 101"...

what else can he say...

the league will bury him without a sincere apology...

and exhume and bury him again if he screws up again...

This is McClain's second problem with failed drug tests during 2015,
as he was faced with a four-game fine for a failed test back in February.
At the time of that report, McClain faced a four-game suspension if he failed another test...
which appears to be what has happened.

so....he can say what we want to hear...but it doesn't mean anything if he doesn't change...

when will these young men learn?

Hopefully it is a new trend in the NFL as there have been many recent suspensions that were met with excuses such as cancer, fertility drugs and chain of custody sample tampering.

As the story indicates, they're still free to use the name. They just will not be entitled to the protections that come with an actual registration. You still have Common Law protections.
