Go Broncos AND Go Dallas!!!!

I will cheer for Dallas now that Romo is gone. Ever since that kid fumbled the place kick...he ain't been right.

John from Texas

He's the anti-Rex, who is actually looking pretty good right now.

They were an embarrassment last night, unprepared or seemed to be so. Fault for that has to lay at Bowles' feet. When I watch the Niners or the Bears, they may lose but at least they're trying.

This week's game should be a snooze fest: Niners vs Jets.

According to the Daily News, Bowles didn't even tell Fitzpatrick that he wouldn't be starting the rest of the year; he had an assistant do that. Poor decision making.

It appears time to blow it up again.

I don't follow the Jets all that well but think Bowles is a solid coach, but I saw a high light of his press conference yesterday after the jets loss on Mon. night and must say the guy seemed a little lost:confused: other then saying 15 times (seriously) that his team "got their ***** beat" which I get he's upset about the team's performance but there's a line of being pissed off and letting everyone know about it versus the sound of giving up and throwing the team to the media wolves, and agreed that the call to replace Fitz. and not even tell him shows piss poor handling of that situation which I believe goes back to the Raven game when the Jets beat the Ravens, Fitz. came off the bench to play a great game and called his owner/coaches out for not believing in him.

The team didn't show up on Monday; that reflects poorly on Bowles, particularly because the defense is his baby and they were awful. On top of that the Stadium was half filled. That's not directly his fault but poor play, his responsibility, is the cause of the fans not showing up. As Mike said you could have had great seats for $7. That's season ticket holders and re-sellers bailing on the team: taking anything they can get.

There's nothing that will get an owner mad than poor play and poor attendance. To top it off, Woody got embarrassed in front of the Vice President Elect.

In most cities you can deal with a low personality coach when the team is winning but not in this town.

Unless Bowles can turn this around and start developing a personality, it's adios.

is he alive...is that a card board cut out?

he never moves...never talks...I have not seen him blink...

how does he coach?

This laugh out loud funny.

I do a great Bowles impression when my and my crowd get together for games; here he is when he's mad, sad, upset, annoyed, happy,.............for each one, I just do a blank stare.

He does seem to talk to himself a lot, muttering under his breath is more like it.

Funny as when they finished 10-6 last year, people were raving about how he's an up and coming coach, the right man for the job, a great new coach, now I saw on Gang Green his nickname is "toilet bowles".........................

George was right about Revis...at least for last night...I have not watched them enough...but he was beat often last night...

He's basically mailed it in.

I saw an article where he's quoted as saying "I don't want to play anymore"................then do the Jets and their fans a favor and retire.

What a fraud.

With this guy, it's always been first and foremost all about the money; when he left New England and went back to the Jets, his comment was "I'm going back home where I belong".................when the Patriots had a party to celebrate the Super Bowl win (of which he was a huge part), he sent his mother to get his ring, he was a no show.

What a class act.

My goodness the Ravens should just call in sick for the Monday night Patriot game, I'm off today and catching up with some NFL shows and it's not if the Pats will win but will they cover the 7 point spread!! Ravens beat the Steelers, Bengals, Dolphins over the last few weeks and get zero chance of winning Monday??? Why do I even watch this stuff.

Sammy...Baltimore is a tough team...with Gronk out...Brady maybe still hobbled some with his knee...and your defense...it should be a good game...I'm definitely watching it...you need "good Flacco" to show up...I think Baltimore is one of the few teams that can give them some trouble...

The last 4 trips to N.E. have gone 2-2 split including playoffs but you are 100% correct that a good Flacco has to show up, he seems to have found a rhythm with the offensive line playing much better and confidence in his receivers, the Pats are on a roll and have a good defence as well and it's going to take a solid effort to beat them in their place but I believe this Raven team will put up that effort.

...you need "good Flacco" to show up...

Or if not, he'll just throw a couple of 30 yard bombs down the sideline and draw DPI penalties........FIRST DOWN RAVENS!!........they're the only team I know that runs that play as part of their weekly offensive game plan.

And as much as I love Harbaugh (for my money, it's Belichick, Harbaugh, Del Rio as the three best NFL coaches, Del Rio is a shoe in for coach of the year for what he's done with the Raiders, although Garrett will surely give him a run for his money for the brilliant job he's done in Dallas), I love how he whined about the Patriots using the ineligible receiver tactic in the playoff game a few years ago, yet in a win a couple of weeks ago, he had his players mug all the defenders on a punt at the end of the game while the punter danced around in the end zone until the clock ran out.

That was a "brilliant move", but Belichick using the ineligible reciever tactic was "cheating"........yup, got it.

I'm going to the game Monday night; can't wait.

In my opinion what Harbaugh did was anti-competitive. At least the Patriots were trying to win the game with a novel approach while Harbaugh was preventing the game from being played. I hope the Competition Committee takes a look at that play and outlaws it.

Harbaugh used the rules to his advantage just as the Pats did in the playoff game, Ravens didn't want to take a chance in having punt blocked so took the holding call\ safety for the win.

I wouldn't expect you'd agree but from my perspective as a neutral fan (between the two of you), it should be outlawed.

It may very well be, but if the tables are turned and the Bengals used the same play to win, tip of the hat to them for using what is to their advantage.

If another team had used it, I would still think it's wrong as in not being in the spirit of the game or its rules. However, I guess I'm old fashioned.

Right Sammy; the talking heads out there raved about how brilliant it was.

The difference is Harbaugh whined about what the Patriots did.

Both were well within the rules.

And who can blame them; as much as Louis rails against the Giants ownership and management, they've won two Super Bowls in the past eight years, four overall.

I happen to be very appreciative of the Giants ownership and their management practices. In this case, however, one of their better attributes, their patience with coaches and GM's, is actually hurting them, as they have kept Jerry Reese, given him chance after chance, and he has consistently done an awful job with the draft. When you look the Giants his first round picks since Reese took over in 2007, the majority are either not on the roster (Aaron Ross, Kenny Phillips, Prince Amakamura, David Wilson), or have under performed (Ereck Flowers, Eli Apple). In fact, the Giants have the lowest percentage of draft picks on their active roster of any team in the league.

Last season, they got rid of Coughlin and gave Reese another chance. Everyone in football knew the Giants desperately needed offensive line talent, but Reese passed on Offensive Tackle Laremy Tunsill, who most experts indicated was the best overall player in the draft, let two teams trade up and pass the Giants to get the other offensive tackle and defensive lineman the Giants intended to draft, and inexplicably drafted Eli Apple, a corner back most experts had as a mid-second round pick, with the 10th pick in the draft. Apple has been burned so badly that the Giants have twice benched him this season. Flowers, the 9th pick in last years draft has been another "left tackle of the future" (like Justin Pugh, another of Reese's first round picks) who has been badly over matched at tackle. I expect that like Pugh, Jerry Reese will move him from Tackle to Guard to save face, and the Giants have to draft another left tackle next year.

The Giants are now 3-4 against quality teams, and, frankly, the offense did not even show up in Pittsburgh (I know there were bad calls and no calls by the officials, there always are, that is not an excuse for playing as poorly as the Giants did on offense). Their first year head coach, Ben McAdoo, chosen by Jerry Reese, has been overwhelmed by being both head coach and calling plays, and the offense has suffered accordingly. If the Giants miss the playoffs, they will almost assuredly finally fire Jerry Reese, but this will create another problem: the new GM will not have chosen the head coach, whom the Giants will not fire for at least another 2-3 seasons. The Giants have not made the playoffs in 4 years (since they won their second super bowl with players for the most part drafted by Ernie Accorsi, their former GM), and, despite an 8-3 start, I don't expect them to win another game his season. I am hopeful that this will finally come home to roost with Jerry Reese, the worst GM in franchise history.

Sammy...I'm with you...it's within the rules...he did nothing cheesy or illegal...couple of weeks ago Big Ben pulled a fake spike on the Cowboys and scored...it's legal and it worked...I have no problems what any coach does to win as long as it's legal...

That something is legal doesn't necessarily make it right or, in this case, within the spirit of the game. When asked about this, Dean Blandino, the head of officiating, said this was something the NFL would examine.

I'm not talking about the spirit of the game...

I'm talking about winning within the rules...if Belichick or Harbaugh or Tomlin are smart enough to employ what's considered within the rules to win a game...or to their benefit...I welcome a smart coach...if you find playing within the rules offensive to your sense of gamesmanship...you're limiting your coaching staff...

if you want to discuss the spirit of the game...

you can...

and then address the 1,000 issues that take place all season...that are not in the spirit of the game...

Belichick has been criticized for not kicking into the endzone after NE scores...kicking short instead...not giving his opponent the 25 yard line on a touch back...he has used this to his advantage...smart guy...not in the spirit of the game...who cares...give me the smart coach any day...

We obviously have different ideas and philosophies so we'll leave it at that.
