NFL Season 2016-17 (2 Viewers)

I think it should be a good game as the others, except the Houston affair. We'll get someone to wake up George on Monday; he'll probably be busy darning his socks.

Last time they played the Giants couldn't stop Aaron Rogers in crunch time, and the Giants lost 23-19. The Giants need to play better defense, as they have been, and hope "Bad Eli" doesn't show up and turn the ball over. If the Giants do that, they have a shot. It should be the best game of Wildcard Weekend.

Seattle should handle a reeling Detroit team at home, the Steelers should crush a Miami team without a QB.

The Oakland vs Houston game should be like watching paint dry, neither team having a QB. Whichever defense or special teams scores should decide this debacle.

One playoff team that I know nothing about is the Falcons.

Are they for real as the No. 2 seed in the NFC?

Whoever wins at GB next Sunday is going to be hard to beat. If Giants win, we will have to get George and all of New England anti-anxiety pills. Just imagine if it's Giants vs NE in the SB, every shrink in that region would be working overtime.

The last time Dallas was this good was 2007 when they lost to the Giants in the playoffs and we all know what happened after that.

:)

So todays barn burners I'll take the Raiders in a close one over the Texans, and in the second game I think the Seahawks will win easy over the Lions.

poor Del Rio...

he really got some bad breaks...as did Carr...

to start the playoffs without your Pro Bowl starting QB...then lose his back up...

making 3 of their 7 Pro Bowl selections injured and unavailable to play Houston...

really tough luck...

I thought Oakland was one of the few AFC teams that might give New England a game...

I think the Seattle/Detroit game will be a much better match...

Wow..thought the Raiders would make this a close game (and win) not!!! but when you lose your starting QB it's a hard pill to swallow in the NFL these days, I do think the Raiders are set for the next few years with a very good team.

Soooooo tired of the Lions losing. It's hard being a Lions fan.

I get a healthy dose of Raiders' coverage when I am in the Bay Area. The consensus seems to be that they are still a year or two away from being in the elite class of the Patriots, but they are well on their way. Years of building via the draft finally seem to be paying off.

Since we got clobbered with snow here yesterday all day and night, I watched bits and pieces of both games.

Wow.

Can't fault the Raiders as they were down to their third string QB, but Cook played like hot garbage, just awful, they had no chance.

As far as the second game; that was some piss poor officiating in that game, the one pass where the Detroit receiver got mugged but no flag was thrown due to the ball being ruled uncatchable was as bad as it gets.

The amount of holding, grabbing and mugging the Seattle secondary gets away with is unreal.

Two God awful games pretty much like I expected.

Good luck to Miami today, temps with the wind chill will be -5................................Green Bay/Jints.............................please God, I don't ask for much, do me a solid on this one.................................

I agree with you George, the officiating with regard to Seattle is ridiculous. I often wonder if it is payback for them getting rooked out of that Super Bowl against the Steelers a few years ago.

So, I take it you are praying for the Giants to win so your Patriots can have a third crack at them in the Supe Bowl?{sm4}

I thought that call on the uncatchable pass was an awful call. They also missed the face mask on the first TD call. It should have been offsetting penalties. Perhaps if the refs had called it properly, Seattle would have had to settle for a FG. Who knows? Regardless, the Lions offense was inconsistent and I doubt they would have won. Too bad; their last playoff win was in 1992 and I thought they were due.

I have a funny feeling the Giants could win. Players can say that prior history doesn't mean anything but it's hard to discount Eli's recent success against GB. On the other hand, there is no doubt the Giants defense is up to the task but the offense has been dreadful lately and unless they can find a way to do that, it could be GB's day. Don't look to the running game. Although it had a good game against the Redskins, the Giants running game is 29th. While in today's game, a successful running game is no predictor of success (Buffalo and SF were in the top 5, GB 20th and Detroit 30th), you do need to run on occasion.

Stafford had so many dropped passes...they never stood a chance...Detroit couldn't stop the run and the officiating definitely seemed to favor Seattle...but I won't dwell on bad calls as they are part of the game...still...Seattle just doesn't seem as scary as they used to be...

Seattle reminds me of both Houston and the NYG's...not the greatest offense...but their awesome defenses keep them in games with QBs that can manage the game...

Louis..you might think I'm lying...even though you have beaten us twice...I would rather face the Giants than the Packers...not saying the third time is the charm...but in the first game of the season against the Giants...which the Cowboys lost by only one point...they actually started two bonafide rookies at both QB and running back...two guys leading the team that had never played a real pro game in their life...and still only lost by one point...

in that game...Elliott was held to 51 yards on 20 carries...there was a lot of talk that he was impatient on hitting the holes and improved dramatically by their 3rd game of the season and started putting up some huge numbers...

in the second meeting...I'm hoping that the weather really affected Prescott...there wasn't much offense in the opening 30 minutes by either team...in the first half...Prescott threw for 101 yards and Manning had only 80...

in the first half...Elliott had 15 rushes for 86 yards...on track for a big day...actually 2 more yards than the Giant's whole team had in total offense...inexplicably he only had 9 carries in the second half for 21 yards...

another close game...the final was 10-7...and Dallas was decimated in their secondary that day...they lost the game on one play...a 61 yard strike from Eli to OBJ...

their secondary is as healthy as it has been all year...almost everyone will start...their pass rush has improved dramatically in the last 3 games with 14 sacks...

Randy Gregory just got a 1 year ban this week...smoking weed seems more important to him than going to drug tests...so he won't be playing...

still...I think inside the warm confines of AT&T stadium...with a home field crowd...the Giants would see a different team...at least I hope so...

Mike,

I also believe you have a better chance against the Giants then against the Packers. It is nearly impossible to beat a team three times in one season, and the Giants and Cowboys have played two very close games. If the Packers are healthy, they can score with Dallas and win a shoot out. But be careful what you wish for, whoever wins this game will be coming into Dallas red hot, on a win streak, while your starters will not have seen real game action in more than two weeks. Both Eli Manning (twice) and Aaron Rogers have ridden a win on wold card weekend to a Super Bowl victory.

Green Bay...with a win...would definitely be riding a red hot streak...the Giants lost to the Eagles just 2 weeks ago...so if they win 2 in a row...not exactly a "red hot streak"...still...I do wish with caution...I dread your pass rush...the truth...while a Superbowl appearance is perhaps a pipe dream...I think any Cowboy fan would be happy with their progress this year...Dallas did beat Green Bay (30-16)...in Green Bay this year...either game will be tough...I'm kind of excited to see a healthy defense...I touted them as horrible at the beginning of the season...they have been surprisingly good enough to help win games this year...

If the Giants win, they will have won 10 of their last 12, a fairly hot streak.
