Nfl season 2017-2018 (1 Viewer)

George...maybe you guys got rid of Patricia at the right time?

Yeah, that's not a good situation for him at all...............remember that clown shirt he wore after the Falcons Super Bowl with Roger's face on it.............that might come back to bite him in the backside.

yea...you don't poke the bear...

Irving just dodged a bullet with the Cowboys...

woman recanted everything saying she was just mad and lied...

could of ended his career...

girls are killing the NFL...:rolleyes2:

what are you gonna do?

He is learning that in this day age there is no due process, a mere accusation is enough to destroy your life. A denial just makes it worse.

It may not be right but it is the new reality.

EXACTLY....

the NFL is no democracy...
it's a dictatorship...

This has to be a first: TO is skipping his induction into the HOF.

Brad...
the way I read it...
he is not declining induction...
he's just not attending the ceremony...

I remember many times in the past...
he has shown public frustration by not being inducted...
now that he has been...
he won't attend the ceremony...

he was always a weird guy that marched to his own drummers...

Michael, I should have been clearer that, yes, he’s just skipping the ceremony. I find skipping it hard to fathom. It’s supposed to be a big moment in your life. Well, I guess for him it’s not.

He is simply reinforcing the position of his detractors who will say that he cried about not getting into the HOF and now that he is in he scoffs at the induction.

The NFL can't get out of its own way.

Jameis Winston gets a 3 game suspension for their findings in a sexual assault investigation, Nigel Bradham of the Eagles gets a 1 game suspension for aggravated assault but Julian Edelman, Robert Turbin, Mark Ingram etc. all get 4 game suspensions for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing drugs?

So that's:

4 games for taking steroids
3 games for groping someone against their will
1 game for punching someone in the face and breaking their nose

David Irving got his "regular season two years in a row" 4 game suspension a few weeks ago for substance abuse...

throwing his hopes and dreams down the commode in grand fashion...

or maybe he dreams about drugs...not football and money...

What a joke the league has become, your 4/3/1 scenario showcases it perfectly. I don't know how you can justify 3 games for what Winston did, it's shameful.

I feel dirty being a fan of this league; how much longer for me is open for debate.

They could have suspended him for six games. See Winston Suspension.

When you give a person like Winston, who has a checkered history, a big contract this is what you get.

Mike:

He would have been better off punching someone in the face.

Again, where is the common sense in the NFL?

49er's linebacker Reuben Foster was suspended for 2 games for his arrest on weapons charges. He was found to be in possession of an assault weapon (AR-15).

Tom Brady received a 4 game suspension for deflate gate.

Clearly a deflated football is more dangerous than an AR-15.

are NFL players not allowed to own guns...why is that illegal...or is there more to this story?

Below is the NFL's stance on weapons as they pertain to those employed by the league:

Guns and Weapons Policy

(This policy applies to all employees of the NFL and its member clubs, including players.)

BELCHER: Legally owned gun

Prohibitions. Whether possessed legally or illegally, guns and other weapons of any kind are dangerous. You and your family can easily be the losers if you carry or keep these items in your home. You must not possess these weapons while traveling on League-related business or whenever you are on the premises of the following:

• A facility owned, operated, or being used by an NFL club (for example, training camp, dormitory, locker room, workout site, parking area, team bus, team plane, team hotel/motel);

• A stadium or any other venue being used for an NFL event (for example, a game, practice, or promotion);

• A facility owned or operated by the NFL or any League company. Put simply, the League, the Players Association, and law enforcement authorities urge you to recognize that you must not possess a gun or other weapon at any time you are performing any service for your team or the NFL.

Mike:

He was arrested in California for the possession of an assault rifle which is illegal as defined by California law.

Jason...

it broke NFL policy because it was an illegally owned firearm as designated by the state of California...not the NFL?

so...in a state where it's legal to own an assault weapon...the NFL would have no issue with a player possessing it?

that's funny...cause the NFL has blatantly disregarded the position of the state law and state rulings on many occasions...

if you play in the NFL...you must despise the collective bargaining agreement the union accepted...

Mike:

I think if there is no law to break (state, federal etc.) then you are not subject to the good conduct policy. Foster possessed the weapon in a state that bans that type of firearm. I don't think the NFL could look the other way and say that it would have been ok in another state. Especially with firearms (certain ones in particular) being such a hot-button issue.

The NFL disregards state law when it comes to marijuana. It is legal in some states that have teams but if you test positive for it then you get suspended. Can you imagine the NFL allowing players in states where it is legal to use it but not allow players in state where it is illegal to do the same?
