Farnham just took a haymaker to the chin but went out still punching. This game is like Slapshot.

Bruins beat the Kings tonight 3-1, Bruins up 1-0 then some tomato can named Jordan Nolan scores his second goal of the year, first since Christ was in a crib, then the Bruins score on a nice tip in by Kelly, final goal on an empty netter.

Boston defeats the defending champion; has a nice ring to it, hope it continues tomorrow..................

The Kings continue to sink out of the playoffs. Awful game last night losing 4-0 to the Caps. Ovi is having a great season for Washington and George's favorite goalie Holtby is playing lights out. This could be their year in the East. Out West the Preds are playing some great hockey. Once they get Rinne back they are going to be tough. Chicago has really hit the skids though.

Combat have you taken notice of the Blues? We do have a big problem, Shatenkirk is probablly out at least until the playoffs, their second best player behind Tarasenko.
Tampa Bay outplayed them badly last night however St louis still found a way to win for their 6th straight and they have gotten points in all of their past 12 games.

With Chicago and LA going in the tank your Blues are looking good. For some reason though they always seem to come up short in the playoffs. Not unlike the Caps in the East. But I think this is the best StL team in many years. I put them right behind the Preds with a healthy Pinne.

Three teams in the AHL are moving from the East coast to California to be closer to their NHL affiliate. Manchester, Binghampton and Norfolk. It makes sense given the difficulty of making quick personnel changes over those distances but a tough blow for the local fans. Also a reflection of hockey growing in popularity on the west coast with the success of the Kings, Ducks and Sharks.

Huge win for the Kings last night in those crazy retro unis. Hanging around the edge of the playoffs. Minnesota has suddenly caught fire. It's going to be scramble for that final spot. Trade deadline is coming up. If the Kings had not closed the gap, they likely would be cleaning house.

Did they honor Barry Melrose last night too?

Saw the highlights, love those retro uniforms, then should ****can that mess they wear now and go back to the old purple and gold version, Rogie Vachon and Charlie Simmer would approve.......

Yes, those are iconic. I remember Jack Kent Cooke would never refer to the Kings and Lakers uniforms as purple. He made everyone call them Forum Blue. When the Kings were struggling to get fans in the stands and JKC was told there were 300k former Canadians living in Southern Cal, he said they must have moved from there because they hated hockey.

I too love those old Kings uniforms. There was a 80,s purple on ebay a week ago went for $900. I had 67 - 71 Blues I was buying from the same seller so the Kings was out of the question.
If I won the lottery my first "go for" would be jersys from the old World Hockey Association (WHA) they all start at $1000 up to $2500 for no name players, you can imagine what a star like Bobby Hull would sell for.

George- your Bruins are killing me. Up 3-0 last night and they managed to lose to Calgary. That's a killer for my Kings who are trying to get that last playoff spot. Five wins in a row for the Kings though.

The Kings-Sharks outdoor game this weekend is shaping up as a big one. The Sharks are two points up in the standings and holding the last playoff slot. Unfortunately the game doesn't even start until 10pm EST.

If they're killing you, imagine what they are doing to me.

This team has officially bottomed out.

They suck.

The weather here in the Bay Area is unseasonably warm, low and mid 70's. Hopefully it will drop into the 50's at game time.

Huge win for the Kings in front of 70K fans. They jumped the Shark so to speak by bumping ahead of San Jose and into the playoff tier. The Kings are a machine when they are playing their game. Darryl Sutter may be the best coach in any professional sport over the last several years. Keeps an even keel with this team. No panic when they are down.

Great game in a great atmosphere. The Sharks seemed to be pretty listless at the start of the 3rd while the Kings had an extra gear. My hats off to them, they deserved the win.

I saw Sabban last night playing in goal for the AHL Providence Bruins. He is so big I thought it would be difficult to get a puck past him even if he didn't move, but that wasn't the case. The pucks were flying into the net. The P Bruins have a couple of excellent looking Russian prospects though. Completely unpronouncable names which means they must be good.

The other night in St louis Subban started in goal for Boston, he was pulled in the 1st period after allowing 3 soft goals. In a way I felt bad for him as the TV showed his parents at the game. They came to St louis from Toronto to see his debut.
