Is the Penguin defense really THAT bad, is the Flyer offence really THAT good and more importantly, is Hartnell really the Gieco caveman? What a creep!

Rangers got slammed with a three game penalty on Hegelin for elbowing Alfredsson. Considering that this was his first offense and that Matt Carkner of the Senators received only a one game for pounding Brian Boyle for a first game hit (to which Boyle didn't respond), the severity of the penalty is absurd.

Yea, I don,t understand why some guys get suspended and others, Shea Weber, get,s fined!
Hartnell may be a caveman but that caveman would be welcome on my team.
Love Blues coach Hitchcocks comment referring to Blues defenseman Roman Polak and his pounding of that Sharks player, "You don,t want to open that door".

The one refreshing thing about the NHL is that they have not gone completely PC crazy like the NBA and NFL. It's a violent sport. The Bruins goalie stood up and smashed some guy in the face after making a save. No penalty called. Life is tough. Play on. The NBA needs lawyers to sort out the flagrant fouls and suspension rules. It's ridiculous.

Rangers win a tight one; Lundquist with 39 saves. They're back in control of the series, at least for now. Generally clean. Rangers couldn't do anything on the power play.

Bruins win 4-3, regain home ice, that thud you heard was the Washington goalie falling back to earth, pretty amazing what happens when you keep throwing the puck at the net and banging home rebounds.............

That was a good game. The Caps are keeping it interesting with their Hershey Bears goalies. That Lucic guy is a wild man. He reminds me of Happy Gilmore. LOL.

The next thud you hear George will be a nose breaking as Lucic's (aka Happy Gilmore, good one Doug^&grin) fist slams into Alzner's, or maybe Backstrom's, face. {bravo}}

Wasn't that brilliant last night; Alzner comes into the middle of a scuffle and grabs Lucic in a headlock and throws him to the ice and Lucic gets the penalty? Seriously? Then Alzner mocks Lucic with the crybaby face; hope your head is on a swivel Alzner or you'll end up with alzhiemers..............was wondering how long it would take for the Caps to take on the personality of their ultimate goon of a coach Hunter, his cheap shot on Turgeon was the dirtest play I've ever seen, he ruined Turgeons career with that hit.............and don't dump on Lucic, his girlfriend is a total smokeshow...............

Road teams are now 16-8. Nashville outshot 40-20 and win tonight despite the refs calling off an obvious goal. Hockey is a strange sport.

Ughhh!!!!!! Curse you Nashville!!!!! Its gonna be tough for Detroit to take the next 3. Some boneheaded defensive plays by Detroit shut the door on this one.

Gary if the Wings lose Im gonna root for your Blues to win it all unless they play the Bruins. Even though Im from Detroit I grew up watching alot of Bruin hockey. Some good memories watching the Bruins and Habs go at it with my Father.

Looks like the goaltenders are taking the night off in the Flyers Pens series: Penguins 9 Flyers 3.

One of the most bizarre playoff series that I have seen. The Pens blow big leads twice at home. Hundred's of penalty minutes. Then they put up 10 goals on the Flyers last night. Whoever wins this series is in big trouble with the poor defense they are playing.

Pittsburg got the extra point and made it a 10-3 final.

If Fleury had played halfway decent in the first three games, the Penguins would be the ones up 3-1; the Flyers goalie is terrible, the way to beat him it get him to move as laterally he is as slow as a glacier.

Rangers lost last night too, series tied at 2-2; luckily for you Brad your goalie stood on his head the other night or you'd be down 3-1.

The Canucks stayed alive last night as well; there are no gimmies in the NHL playoffs and no fluke 9-7 teams getting lucky and winning games, you earn every series win with them all being a best out of 7 affair.

IMO, there is no other sporting event like playoff hockey.

The Rangers had a 2-0 lead after the first period but couldn't hold it. Onto Saturday.

With the utter stupidity of the hit on Alfredsson, I'd have given him more. Yeesh, keep your skates on the ice and check with the shoulder. Shaw should have gotten more games too. You don't hit the goalie. Plus, I can't think of a better way to tick off the other team and invite retribution on your goalie or in this case, star player. Shanahan can suspend Torres as long as he'd like.

This has been such a weird playoffs so far. Pitt and Philly's abysmal defense (I swear they agreed amongst themselves to try to break the record for most goals in a playoff series), while for the first couple games, Boston and Washington couldn't score goals. Now that Pitt scored 10 again Philly, they've probably used up all their goals and will lose the next one. And all series unusually fight-filled. Used to be fights would be rare once the playoffs started and games would be tight-checking. I knew SJ-STL would be a rough series, but they've all been. Strange, strange playoffs.

Generally, I have no team allegiances since I like individual players instead, but here's hoping for a Boston-St. Louis final and a Boston win again. Boston because I like Timmy and I really, really dislike Hitchcock, plus, I'll win money from my hockey pool. :D

I've seen plays on par in dirtiness, but not during a goal celebration like that one. That's classic, in a bad way.

I just watched that video of Hunter mugging Turgeon. Incredible. What a scum. That franchise can't lose enough to suit me.
