My hockey pool pick's are a shamble.

Yeah, Nashville losing put the nail in the coffin for me.

I haven't been able to watch much (no tv only get to watch games online - so only games on NBC and only bits at that), but a summation of NYR-WA that I watched: D waits too long to pass, get pressured, dumps puck out to opposing D who waits too long to pass who dumps puck out...

So far I haven't been impressed by any East team. And I don't know how St. Louis could look so bad. A lot of teams choked this year. Pittsburgh and Philly series was a display of bad D and goaltending. Boston would have cake walked through the East had their offense woken up. The first round was way chippier than I've seen playoff hockey be in a long time - thinking back to, who was it, Dallas and Edmonton series at least ten years ago but even those series were more super hard hitting than fighting. It's been a strange, strange playoffs.

I have no dog in this fight...I just want to see some good hockey.

Once more for the ages.................

Couldn't agree more, they'll be talking about that goal for the next forty years, can just see the conversation now "Hey remember when what's his name scored that goal at the end of game 4 in the Stanley Cup finals vs that goalie whosamajiggy, wasn't that awesome"........."Ah no, it was what's his face that scored the goal in double overtime in game six of the Conference finals vs whosyourmamma"....................

"No, you are both wrong; it was game 5 in overtime of the Conference semi finals after the Capitals got jobbed, but it didn't matter as the Devils beat the Rangers in the Conference Finals anyways youse guys"...................

Yep, one for the ages.

The Devils are in the Conference finals, congrats to them as they smoked Harnell and the rest of the goons from Philly, what a cementhead that guy is.

Rangers/Capitals; ,one of you is up next.

Best of luck to either of you.

You'll need it.

Does Putty still root for the Devils?:wink2: -- Al

LOL.................yeah he does, but he's a body painter now instead of a face painter.

Good luck tonight Al, the Caps should have won this thing already, take care of business tonight and then flip a coin for game 7...............

Thanks, George. I'm not a huge hockey fan, but the Caps are on my radar and I follow enough to know that it will take all their luck to stay in this thing. They just don't fare well in the playoffs. As that famous pundit Roseanne Roseannadana says, "It's always something". -- Al

Rangers Devil split 6 games so I don't think there is an advantage either way. However, it's likely to be a seven game series that should be a lot of fun to watch.

Did you know, George, that a player from one of your favorite teams was at Game 5 the other night? Justin Tuck was seated behind the Rangers goal wearing a jersey. Apparently he's a big hockey fan.

Justin Tuck is a great player, I've got no issues with him, he worked his tail off to help the 10-6 and 9-7 Giants win both of those Super Bowls and besides, that's in the past, nothing I can do about it now, looking forward to this year, the Patriots are once again loaded, beyond loaded actually...............and I'm sure he's a huge hockey fan.

Aren't the Rangers still playing the Caps? At least one more game. :wink2:

Woo Hoo! Caps get a game 7! -- Al

Have to give the Capitals credit, they didn't fold their tents tonight after that bag job the other night, they outplayed the Rangers from the drop of the puck till the final second ticked off the clock.

Game 7 indeed, should be exciting, the winner gets to dance the the Devils...............

I didn't see a lot of the game as I was switching back and forth between the Mets, Knicks and Rangers but it was probably predictable.

That's why you work hard to get the home ice advantage.

The Caps played a solid game. The series should have been over except for a couple of bad breaks. I also worry when a team plays a complete game like the Caps did last night. It's usually followed by a let down for some reason. Going to be tough to win in NY, but every game the Caps have played has been close and they are due for a break to go their way.

Yes, the Caps have played it close this playoff season. They have played 13 times and 12 of the contests have been decided by 1 goal, with the other by 2. Can't get much closer than that. Here's hoping the Caps don't let down, but winning #7 in NY is going to be a tall order. Will be a must see and should be fun. -- Al

The series should have been over except for a couple a horrible penalty called with 21 seconds left in game 5.

Fixed it for you.

If the Capitals go on to lose Saturday, they were done in by a terrible call.

Not the way a playoff game (or any game for that matter) should be decided.

Sort of ironic that the hero of game 7 vs the Bruins could also end up being the goat of game 5.

Best of luck on Saturday.

Sorry to see the Caps lose game 7 by a 2-1 score. Not unexpected given the Caps playoff historybut a disappointment, none the less. Caps did have an exciting playoff run as all but one of their 14 games were decided by 1 goal. Missed it by thaaaat much. -- Al

WW III begins on Monday night at MSG.

Yeah great, how awesome.

Anyway, the Kings continue to amaze the hockey world, winning again tonight (nice to see all those yahoos at the game in Phoenix all shop at the same store); if they knock off Phoenix and go on to beat the Rangers in the finals, they'll have beaten the #1, #2 and #3 seeds in the west and the #1 seed in the east, just incredible if it ends up that way.

Between the 82-80 Cardinals, 9-7 Super Bowl Champion Giants and the #8 seed Kings, 2012 will always be remembered as the year of the mediocre champs....................I guess the regular season means nothing anymore................

Best possible outcome for the NHL is the Kings vs. Rangers since they have big markets. Phoenix vs Jersey would be brutal rating wise. I really can't stand the way this years playoffs have been played out but being a fan of hockey I find myself tuning into the coyotes vs kings. Heck I might even turn on the Rangers/Devils for a bit.
Funny how all the teams left have some sort of affiliation with Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky was a Ranger, Gretzky was a King, Gretzky coached the Coyotes and Gretzky had the famous quote that insulted the NJ organization calling them a "Mickey Mouse" club.
