no dispatches....... lol now thats fun (1 Viewer)

Definitely a major disappointment . This decision also eliminates pre-orders and planning one's collecting budget ahead of time. Without pre-orders how will dealers know what quantities to stock?

Eliminating "pre-orders" almost cancels the need to be a K&C club member!! As to dealers, they would surely get advance information on planned productions.

Not necessarily so. If a collector has allocated the funds to buy a piece but then in the dispatches sees something else he'd rather have he may postpone his purchasing decision whereas if he was contemplating buying a piece and the dispatches didn't have future releases, he may go ahead and make his purchase.

It may much ado about nothing, in your opinion, but managing inventories may be quite important to K & C.

What difference does it make which piece they buy? If they are only willing to buy one of two - which is implicit in your example - it doesn't make any difference if they buy this month and pass next month or pass this month and buy next month. It doesn't reduce inventory unless the collector is ultimately willing to buy both for some reason. If they just buy the same amount it's a wash - one item will be bought and the other will be in inventory. If they needed to reduce inventory they would reduce prices or allow the dealers to sell at a discount after a certain period of time - which many no doubt do anyway.

I'm not really interested in having a debate with you about this so we will leave it at that.

Don't like it. I prefer to have a view of what is available within two months. And I am really disappointed that we were not warned. I was looking forward to this week, and it is a big let down not see what is in the pipeline. It would have been so easy to let us know last month about the coming changes.

No problem with the new strategy, I like surprises.

I liked the old way, it was fun to see what coming up at the start of each month but the new way is fine but it is not the end of the world nor some evil plot...crikey it is a worry the way some think about what Andy and Co do! It has some talking total...(well you know) and some talking to themselves (again:wink2:).
Wayne.

in the real world, people have watched and been smothered with information about how politcs work these days and this has had an effect on how people think about everything. including the toy soldier drama

With all of the latest surprise strategies being implemented, makes one wonder what is really happening these days in the Toy Soldier world... ^&confuse{sm2}

Why not mate we have a whole month to waste before next dispatches thanks to Andy.....................^&grin

It's not worth arguing with some people. Sometimes you have to state your points and move on.

It also allows for a bit of catch up - I have to get the ALH figures pronto!

Tell me about it! Personally I needed some breathing space to get on top of my other bills, not only the stuff i have on order!

Tom

Brad,
But there would be no fun in arguing about cricket for some people because Andy does not play cricket.
Brett

Maybe we need to find out if Andy has a hobby like golf Brett ^&grin

Hey folks,

Seriously, there are only two things I look for in dispatches that require immediate attention. Limited editions and retirements for the range I collect. All else, I usually take my time to see the sculpts and to gauge members' feedback and reviews. We had very good dispatches last two months. It is back to the High Life again with WW2 and soon WW1 (anniversary).

Please go back to posting pics and reviews. Do stop and smell the roses.

Go buy yourself something else this weekend, there are still lots in the catalogue. I am getting the civilians since I do not think it will be economical for me to borrow from Wayne.

Hey...I'm cheap!............^&grin:wink2:

For me personally I don't think the new change in Dispatches will make a big diff to be honest. I guess it means I won't plan as many purchases, each month will simply be a case of wait and see. Anyone else think this?

Much the same for me. Collecting seems to be a constant 'catch up' so I do not normally buy a K&C piece straight away. It takes its place in the line and waits its turn.

Problem with K&C with having a big range of different soldiers it make from Wild West to WW2 you got no idea when the next time your see anything new to you collect from one year to the next , I collect MG & there brilliant RAF range but beside the new MG figures that took two years for some new soldiers to coming out I've got no idea when were see some new RAF items maybe going the WB. Way with a catalogue would help with sells ? Just my personal opinion and not telling Andy how to do his job:smile2:
