How will you cope with four years of commemorative releases?

I shall be a very good boy, do loads of chores, cooking , gardening and hope all this does not go unnoticed:wink2:

Oh and of course I'll be telling my better half what a lovely place Ypre/Somme is at this time of year (Jan-Dec:wink2:)

Just start introducing her to people as 'your first wife' to empahasise how important it is to you.

My thoughts on no dispatches. I decided to let some time pass before commenting on K&C's latest move. Interesting to see emotions running from outright anger to contentment. I must say my emotions ran up and down too. Few like change however from this latest announcement it is clear to me that the industry in dynamic and constantly changing. K&C is just responding and repositioning itself within that environment. Taking unpopular decisions is one characteristic of strong leadership of which K&C certainly is. To stay the course forever seems unrealistic in any business now of days. While I think these changes are not for the better from a customer standpoint they obviously make sense from K&C's business standpoint. At the end of the day as long as K&C keeps putting out quality product at "reasonable" prices I'll be content. The addage "its business, nothing personal", comes to mind in this situation. Perhaps due to the small size of the industry, the close and immediate relationship K&C has with its customers especially thru the immediacy of this forum I think we often tend to take things personally when we likely shouldn't.

Toddy...all my mob were from Scotland way back when...:wink2:{sm3}

I think this new policy is going to lead to some very nice last min surprises over the coming months, hoping for something very special in Chicago this year. I wonder if we will get advance warning for these type of shows, would also love to see something launched in London^&cool

So do I think there may be last minute surprises. Probably not good considering no time
to make corrections.

Hi Guys,

One of the great things about the Forum and K&C collectors is that it always helps to have “extra eyes” on figures, vehicles and anything else come to that…

A couple of weeks back one of our collectors, a former Parachute Regiment Colonel, wrote to us about our depiction of Major Gough… particularly his hair colouring and cap badge… I’m happy to say both have been amended as per his suggestion.

Thanks also to a couple of others who got in touch… Muchos Gracias,
Andy C.

Blake,
Actually your reference to Andy's post shows something you dont seem to have realised. That is that the problem was fixed at short notice.

April Despatches announced for the first time the new Para figures coming out in late April. They did not appear in late April but Andy's thread/post dated 3 MAY indicates 2 weeks earlier he was informed of an issue with Gough VC. So that means very soon before the actual release date he was able to sort the problem out and they are now coming out this month. What was noticeable was people seemed far more interested in the thread pointing out the "ërror" than the one where Andy mentioned he had fixed it.

I do agree that in some cases we will find out about releases very soon before release and there will be little time to correct problems. No doubt K&C will bear this in mind. Maybe this will mean more surprise items appearing at shows (ie. LA, Chicago and London) to get feedback. Obviously Andy will have considered this issue before deciding to change his Despatches.

Either way hopefully the reaction to this change is an indication of the great interest in K&C products and the eagerness to discover what is coming.

Regards
Brett

One thing that I always find interesting is that there is often little agreement about whether something is an error or not. Even amongst collectors who have had an interest in a topic for decades there is plenty of room for disagreement. The Mustang, Rommel and the sandwich, and RAF blue are three that I have a sense may have fallen into this category. This would be further muddied by the question of the significance of an error (for some all errors are significant, to others none of them are, with most people perhaps falling between those two extremes). Others issues seem driven by a cost control/ease of postage issue that must influence decisons at times. I always sympathise with people who receive advice from a variety of quarters. When I was teaching it was quite possible to deal with a parent at 9.00am who abused me because I had dealt with a bullying issue too severely and at 10.00 am I sat with the other parent who complained that I had been too lenient. Both felt that I did not take their advice (which was true). At some point I learnt just to say 'stuff it' and did things the way I wanted. I left teaching six months later but hey, what a semester!

I see another manufacturer is not releasing details of any new ranges in May. It seems as though Santa has looked at who has been naughty and nice and decided we have been bad ... real bad.

No good deed goes unpunished. Otherwise, must be you mates who are naughty since you are the ones with the winter holidays now... and Santa's sleigh must have got held up somewhere while heading south.
