Nous sommes touts Sauvages-1759 (1 Viewer)

Hi Reb,

for me as a collector of the French and Indian War it is a very special pleasure to see such fine work and with the same excitement that I had with your "top notch" Gettysburg thread I am looking forward to the next scenes coming up.
Thank you very much for doing this.

Bob,

Can't really add anything that hasn't already been said, so thanks very much indeed. :)

Avery's fears of being cut-off were about to be realised as a group of Abenaki's skirted the fight to await the second ranger echelon to enter the clearing

DSC07155.jpg

Positioning themselves north-west of the tree-line they formed a ragged regimental musket line learned from their French allies

DSC07145.jpg

The musket was not the favoured weapon of the Abenaki and none of them could be classed as a marksman. But as the second wave of Rangers-hurrying toward the sounds of fighting-rushed into the clearing the Indian line fired a volley into them

DSC07154.jpg

The musket volley downed three of the rangers and as the noise of the gun-fire dissipated the forest suddenly resonated with yelping war-cries as the hostiles discarding their muskets fell upon the few remaining rangers

Having taken two musket balls to the leg Ranger Jesse Clagett fell to the forest floor, swiftly pulling and cocking his flintlock pistol, very calmly fired at a painted figure who was about to leap on him

While his colleague Hamish Campbell of Gage's Light Infantry unsheathed his sturdy Scottish cutlass and completely ignoring the tremendous odds he faced lunged at the nearest Indian to his front

DSC07330.jpg

With fearless bravado the wild eyed Scot yelled at the advancing Abenaki's

"Come on ye heathen devils, there's plenty of room for all of ye in hell!"

DSC07315.jpg

But Campbell from the corner of his eye noted that some of the Abenaki were moving around to his and Clagett's right, intent on cutting them off from Avery's lead group, Campbell thought to himself
"Well, we'll see about that my wee painted devils!"

But Kwaniwibid (Long Tooth) who had not discarded his gun had his own idea of despatching this "mad white devil" as he slowly lowered his musket and took careful aim on the wildly thrashing Scot

Stunning set up, I like very much your scenario, very realistic.

Harry

I actually based the character of Hamish Campbell in the dio on your good self with all due reverence and respect of course!
Somehow the comparable description just flowed off my pen so now you know that Hamish like yourself is definitely a born survivor. ;)

Reb,

What a misfire? or just a bad shot? Can't wait for the next instalment.

I am saving these on my pc like I did with your ACW story, make a good book some day :D

Thanks for taking the time to set this up and posting.

Reb,
I'm lost for words (for once). I reckon Brad ought to run a poll. What other TF members ought to feature in a diorama? Maybe not - I seem to remember (was it?) KV and the Lt among others featuring as characters in some bizzare series of photos a few months ago...:D:D:D
I must say however, with all due reverence and respect, I'm honoured to be the "inspiration" for a character in one of your fantastic threads.:cool::cool:;)

Cheers

Those are some really beautiful pictures and the Conte figures really look stunning. Espicially the Indians. Great Diorama and great clear pictures!

WOW! Awesome terrain, I can't wait to see the finished diorama as you complete your story.

Thanks Reb for posting such great photos and the workmanship on the diorama is first class. I enjoy your work. Leadmen

I have already sent the first photos to Spielberg to begin storyboarding for a new HBO project to be produced by Steven and Tom Hanks. They are already at work on the Civil War project on Antietam that I previously sent after downloading UKREBS photos. With my cut and the residuals I should have plenty of discretionary funds for toy soldiers this year.:D

Seriously Bob you have a great product out there worthy of wider distribution as all of your fans will attest.

Randy

Awesome UKReb. I'm anxiously awaiting the next action packed installment.

Your knowledge and styel is tre magnifique! Are you sure you are not Irish and a seanachie? Pronounced shaw-na-key for you non Oirish types:D
