Hello everyone.

It is my great pleasure to be able to share the newest addition to my "British Empire" collection, commissioned as usual with fellow forum member John Firth (beating retreat).
Just arrived this afternoon, and may I say that it is another true masterpiece John has done.
Am a bit challenged to describe it properly :smile2:, as the normally used superlatives just don't do it anymore, so I just let the pictures do it :wink2: ^&grin.

All the furniture including the picture frames and swords, are from the old Phoenix Models molds and purchased from John Eden Studios. The fireplace is also from John Eden.

Hope you enjoy seeing this fine piece of work.

And some attention to the numerous accessories included in this diorama and the third pic gives a nice view of the beautiful book cabinet.

Here some more explanations from John: "The animals heads are conversions from Britains zoo animals, heads removed and mounted on medieval knight shields, the crossed lances are scratch built.

The mess cat, a tabby, sat on his favorite chair known in the mess as "General Gordon" and is considered to be the best mouser this side of Bengal ,from Phoenix molds by John Eden.

The flooring is balsa wood, stained and varnished".

Thats brilliant work, as usual from John.

I've got a similar set of 4 figures from John Eden to paint soon for a local collector, and some Yeomanry Officers, so your figures will give me some great uniform colour ideas.

WONDERFUL :)

Hi Konrad,

Congratulations on your fantastic "Christmas in India" display. This is a truly outstanding. I think this is the best display done by Mr. John Firth (beating retreat) as commissioned by your goodself. I love the interior decor which is so exquisitely done. Is the carpet rug by Sarum ? Hope to see more pictures later.

Best, Raymond :)

Fascinating vignette. A real centerpiece to your collection I'm sure.

Congrats.

Brad

The kit is from Yeomanry Miniatures, sculpted by Alan Caton.

Hi Konrad,

There is no way I can top Louis' comment. The best I can do is agree with it!

Congratulations on one of the most outstanding vignettes I have ever seen! My compliments to you for comissioning the work and to John Firth for his outstanding and amazing work.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat {bravo}}

Beautiful stuff, a reminder of the long gone times when one could sit and take a cup of tea or coffee with lots of time to spare...^&grin. The details are just mind puzzling, wall hanging paintings in...54mm scale? Wow{eek3}!!!
Congrats Konrad.

I would be hard pressed to disagree with this assessment. I hope John's creation finds its way into the trade publications.
