Omaha Beach Reinforcements! (1 Viewer)

I feel like one of the "Hanson Brothers" from an old hockey movie you guys may know, dying for my chance to get into this one...

What a sporting spectacle!

Two points:

Anybody in their 20s is old enough to know how to behave like an adult. Age is no excuse.

I can't believe it's gone on so long....

Look Kiwi. I don't even know your name but you need to look at this thread and if you don't like it: Don't comment.
If you do like it: Comment about the figures.

This thread has turned into a debate about soldiering.

This is a TOY SOLDIER FORUM so I propose we keep things on track.

Scott

My name is Todd Scott and part of the reason the thread has so many twists and turns in it is because of your responses.

You're absolutely correct this is a TS forum, which as I recall is all about discussing the hobby and to my mind anything else related.

I don't see a problem with the thread or whats been raised thus far and in all intense and purposes it's all been quite civil.

I have no doubt the moderators are watching closely and it's their job to guide things as they see fit, not yours.

If you don't like what's being discussed, then there is a very quick and simple solution to that.

Kind Regards.

Ok Gents,

Back to the discussion if there is anything to discuss about D-Day.

Dave

OK Guys.....I am fully aware that this thread is now completely off topic but i would like if i may to make one final comment. We are all entitled to our own opinions and we should all be capable of respecting each others views in an adult manner void of sarcasm or hurtfull and childish comments.
And one last word in the defence of guys who take part in Living History or re-enactment groups.....No it is not all "playing at soldiers" obviously there are some guys that are there for the wrong reasons but please consider the fact that re-enactors are often the guys that are striving to keep history alive and thier way of respecting the memory of what that generation achieved in WWII....These are the guys that often adopt graves in military cemetries all over Europe, meet veterans, take part in long distance marches..Airborne march in the Netherlands or the Ardennes well known winter march. I once had the absoluut honour of introducing 3 Canadian vets who were retracing the route they made through Holland in 1944/45 to a shooting range where i am a member, one of the guys sat an hour with my hands in his and we both had tears in our eyes. And another guy i know who was asked to spread the ashes of an 82nd para who had fought in Normandy and had passed on in the States his only wish was to be back amongst the friends he had lost but his family could not afford the trip to Europe and as there were long standing links between this "re-enactor"and the vets association it was arranged that he had the honour of spreading the mans ashes.....If this is playing at soldiers then i guess i got it all wrong!!!!.
This is my last word in this thread and i hope the next time i visit the forum i can talk TOY SOLDIERS...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Remember and Respect

Steve

Oops, here was me thinking they bred them tough north of the border.

Just imagine the scene as :

The 9th Legion marched into Scotland

William Wallace faced the English at Bannockburn

The Scots saw the English army at Culloden

Sir Colin Campbell ordered the 93rd Highlanders to face the Russian cavalry in the thin red line instead of the usual square

and responded by saying this is bullying, let's share it on social media.

Welcome back Scott:salute::

Try 40 years in the Medical profession friend.....service and sacrifice for our fellow man and yeah that takes guts and mental capacity....But at least nobody was shooting at me!!!!!!!!

Congratulations, but what on earth does this have to do with your original response and my reply? I don't believe your original statement was about you, but a reference to "real soldiers". I only questioned the equation of that to only "combat" soldiers.

As I said before, Respect is given in kind as well as earned. I have no issue with your service and find it commendable, I am only scratching my head over your defense of a rude disrespectful tone and sarcasm by another's post. As an reader/observer of the thread, my take is that it is rude and consequently the seeming disrespect that was received.

Aw yeah great comparison! You have a very wise perception of the world.

Scott

You're right Scott...Much wiser than some!
Andy.

Remember the good old days Andy. When you were nice to me and didn't have a go at me for nothing. What's your underlying problem Andy?

Remember the time you sent me a copy of your Newly released Market Garden diorama at the Hartenstein Hotel DVD?

Or remember at the London show one December when you singled me and another youth out and presented us with original drawings you had made of different figures. You said that both of us were the future of collecting and thanked us for our interest in K&C. You met my mum and me and you were the nicest, and seemingly one of the most caring guys I'd ever met!

Now all you want to do is belittle me. Have sly digs at me and get more people on your bandwagon to do the same.

I don't know when you turned into this hollow version of the man you used to be but I really think you ought to have a look at yourself and the things you post and say to me You wee a role model to me and I have collected your products for 17 years now and still continue to collect.

K&C has been a huge part of my life and helped me though when I lost my mum as I had dioramas to focus on but now it seems all that was for nothing as the guy who made all those products has decided to hate me. And for what? For What reason? Why do you do it?

I don't think I'll ever get an answer but you were a good guy once.

Scott

Scott,
I am not seeing Andy as the one having the problem. Unfortunately you come across as an ill mannered person who has little idea of how address people on a forum. Not saying you have to agree with Andy or like all his products or his business decisions but many of your posts are just rude and inconsiderate. Nothing has changed. I know probably hundreds of collectors who have met Andy, many multiple times and none has expressed any issues about his behaviour. Far from it, they are always complimentary.

As for your comment about Andy getting people on the "bandwagon" against you the credit for that lies with you. Despite what you might like to think those who disagree with you here are actual adults who dont have to be on any "bandwagon" to disagree with you.

We all appreciate you are younger than most and all older collectors generally like to encourage younger collectors. You should be wondering why your posts attract so much negative comment and perhaps adjust your approach. You might be surprised that being polite might actually get a better response here.

Brett

I'm still, I hope, a 'good guy' to most people I know and meet in this hobby...However that doesn't mean I have to put up with someone or anyone come to that who tries to be a 'smart-arse' and on occasion tries to show off...at my expense.

When people show respect...they get respect in return...pure and simple.
Andy.

Ok we need to knock this on the head, enough !! Keep with the discussion or we will be forced to close the thread and issue infractions.

And I was completely respectful to you in my original and secondary post and third post? 2nd post 'Hope all is well mate!'

You and Kiwi started having a go at me after I asked you to stay on topic much like the brit farmer has?

So you're all going to listen to the brit farmer as he is a moderator but you're goinf to have a go at me for saying basically the same thing?

That's double standards by any account!

Scott

Please close the thread and issue infractions. I'm afraid it's too far gone mate! Some people seem intent on arguing for no purpose.

Three massive hurricanes and terrible earthquake in the Americas.....possible nuclear war with North Korea, terrorism in Europe, ethnic cleansing in Myanmar, slaughter in Yemen, religious warfare in the Middle East, starvation, disease.......and we let a toy soldier forum bother us??

Let's have fun before our world explodes!^&confuse{eek3}

Andy, sorry, shake hands?

And we do not need more "balls" carrier to help make matters worse by stirring the s_it. (one or two of you are really great at that, it is obvious).

It was good suggestions and we leave it at that.

Someone will pick these suggestions and produce them one day. Every manufacturer is experimenting with what works and what does not, what sells and what does not. We will have to respect each manufacturer and his decision and move on.

We can see that recently, this business is so tough that each manufacturer is experimenting new areas. We hope to continue to support these manufacturers through these tough times by giving them business. All said, too much p_ssing will just take away the joy of collecting and chase good loyal customers away. Nuff said.
