So how does it compare with K&C's Panther?.

Rob

The KC Panther is brighter and the tracks look like they were melted in a microwave oven. The KC figures are nicer, but there is no comparison with the tank. HB version is much superior.

I have said it before, but I'm sure Honour Bound (and Figarti) would sell more product if their photographs were brighter and showed more of their model's detail. King & Country use plenty of lighting for their pics and I suggest this is a significant factor in their success.

We live in an internet and global buying environment these days where we rarely have the opportunity to inspect these items first hand before we buy. And as much as we depend on the opinion of other members to help our buying, we have to remember that they will have different tastes and preferences to our own.

At the end of the day we buy something because we like what we see, and if we can't see what we are buying to clearly it makes us a bit nervous about handing over the funds.

Could not agree more. Image is everything and if the only image you have is one that is out of focus just a bit or has some slight shadowing that distorts the objects realness (hay I just invented a word, realness), well you get the point. Marketing is more than advertising. Marketing is your image portraited to the consumer in such a way to influence the consumers purchasing decision. In other words, if it looks good it sells ok but if it looks great it sells great, maybe (I always add a maybe to most marketing decisions cause I still think its PFM [pure fricken magic anyway]).

More time and effort should be spent by Figarti and HB in their photographs. I have yet to purchase one piece of my collection having seen it previously in person. All have been bought on the net and I don't see much of a significant change for me in the near future. K&C photos match the object. Time is spent to determine the best image possible. Nothing new. Its just tried and true marketing.
