OTSN Attendees List (1 Viewer)

Any special events I should know about, and when do the doors open?

Col. - if you're speaking of Sunday only - I know of no special events that day. The show begins at 10:00 am. - 3:30 pm. Here's a link to the official website:

Again, if you only get to the show on Sunday and not any room trading you will NOT be disappointed. Many of us spend 4 - 5 days there, so the show tends to be somewhat anti-climatic.... having said that - I still always attend the show on Sunday, and thoroughly enjoy it.

As mentioned - nothing much Sunday but the show itself. Very large - rather crowded, lots of neat stuff but not the chances to talk to the dealer/maker in detail like you get in the rooms. There is a dinner for K&C (Friday PM) - attendance is limited but Treefrog had the tickets. Figarti has a great luncheon on Friday - see their posting to see if there are any openings left. Last year Matt from Hobby Bunker did some presentations on painting foam buildings, Ken Osen did some presentations and I think there were others.

Gald to hear about the Treefrog pins coming. Can we get those at "headquarters" (the Treefrog rooms)? Maybe all the forum members should wear a red shirt on Friday as a recognition signal?

Gary

Dang ,no kilt and no red shirt, guess I'll have to shave my head.

I understand K&C has a dinner on one of the nights? Does anyone know if this is open to anyone or is it only open to dealers?

Its by special invitation only, usually about 10-12 people, dealers and collectors who are close friends of Andy and Gordon.

If that's the case, just contact Shannon about purchasing a ticket.

There are four sponsors to this dinner: Treefrog, Sierra, Sagers' Soldiers and Troops of Time. You can contact either.

I had previously posted this before:

This is what Shannon said in her newsletter (it's the only thing I've heard):

"As some of you know, Treefrog Treasures, along with three other sponsors has put on a King & Country dinner for the past three years which has included dinner, a talk by King & Country founder and creative director Andy Neilson, and last year, a special figure exclusive to the dinner.

People who have attended previous dinners want to return and people who have not had the pleasure of attending in the past continue to express interest in attending. As the popularity of this dinner has grown and the number of attendees continues to rise we have had to make some changes to accommodate for this.

Final details will come later (a few sponsors are currently out of the country) but I can tell you a few of the general plans now.

This year, collectors will need to reserve their place in advance by purchasing an admission ticket so that we can plan for the proper number of people and no one is left out because someone else reserved a seat but did not come.

The price of the ticket is unimportant however because each collector who attends will receive admission to the event, hors d'oeuvres before the event, dinner, a special exclusive King & Country Chicago Dinner figure AND a voucher for the same amount as the price of admission to be redeemed with any of the sponsors.

So essentially the event remains free but with this new format we think we will be able to accomodate each collector who would like to attend the event and the sponsors do not have to be in a position of having to turn people away.

As soon as the details have been finalized I will give you an update and we will begin taking reservations. I look forward to this opportunity to spend time with you in person at this fun and tasty event."
