Just did a tally of attendees, counted 26 from this board. I want to try to meet all of you, although most of you I know.
How many of you are staying at another hotel besides the Hyatt?
I stayed last year at the LaQuinta, about a half mile away, made reservations for this year prior to leaving last year.
They gave me a rate of $110 a night.
Thru promotions etc, I have reduced that to $61.10 a night.
I will have a car up there , but there are much cheaper options than staying at the Hyatt.

I am driving to the show every day. I have not met anyone from the forums yet but hope to this year.

If you have a car and attending the K&C dinner on Friday, Shannon is looking for some drivers.

Gary, I am also staying at LaQuinta Fri-Sun, AARP rate of $58 + tax. Will also have a car. Will be arriving sometime mid Friday morning. Perhaps we can link up. Mike

Okay, it's settled. I am now committed to making the trip and am so excited. Will be arriving in time for the dinner event on Friday night and staying for part of the day on Saturday. Staying at the Hyatt Summerfield which looks to be about 7-8 blocks from the show site so not too bad. Looking forward to making some of your acquaintences and checking in with some old faces too.

I will be at the Springhill Suites Marrriot, about a Mile away. I travel so often for work, figured might as well burn the points.

Wait, wait, wait a second, did you move MD, because a few months ago you lived in Wisconsin:confused:.

That is correct Herr Colonel. This Summer has been a largely unenjoyable effort moving from Ripon, Wisconsin (great little town), to Northfield, Minnesota (also a great town). Finally getting settled a bit now, but still living among boxes and piles at the moment.

Are you anywhere near TF?

Hi Jeff, yes it is just a little over an hours drive from Northfield to Eyota. I have been there once a few months ago, and I can tell you the warehouse is impressively large and well stocked.

THE Northfield, Minnesota; how is the raid represented and how did you enjoy the Defeat of Jesse James Days?

It is actually going on as we speak. They re-enact the raid 3 times a day all weekend, and it is pretty entertaining to see at least once. Otherwise it is a pretty typical street fest, with dodgy carny rides, crappy food, and so on. The original bank facade is easily recognizable along the main street, and there is a nice little museum adjacent to it that I have yet to explore fully. Check out "The Long Riders" released in the 80's I think for a good film on the James/Younger gang's demise in Northfield, MN.
