Hi Guys,

One of the great things about this hobby and Forum is the opportunity to actually meet and talk with many of the individual “Treefroggers”… in person. Allow me to mention one in particular…

Over the years I have corresponded with “Rob” and got to link up with him at the London Show and talk “all things K&C and toy soldiers” on several occasions.

Back in December 2010, during a break in the show, we were talking about favourite war movies and old British TV shows… One of which was “DANGER UXB!” The story of the Royal Engineers Bomb squads tasked with defusing unexploded German bombs during the Blitz and afterwards.

Rob could not have been more encouraging and helpful when I said I wanted to design and produce a few little figures and vehicles to honour these brave men. Like quite a few of you guys I happily shared and exchanged my thoughts on what I wanted to do and how I wanted to do it. Of course, in this case, I added… “But keep it under your hat!” Although as excited as myself Rob was, as always, as good as his word.

It’s an added pleasure and delight to see his latest dio (featuring the “DANGER UXB!” sets) which I consider one of his finest.

Like the vast majority of toy soldiers collectors everywhere… he loves what he collects… He has a huge amount of fun displaying and creating “scenarios” with it… He never disparages what others might prefer… He goes out of his way to be pleasant and helpful whenever he can to all and sundry…

I’m proud to have him as a friend… and an “unofficial” K&C colleague!
All the very best mate and keep up the great work. Happy collecting.

Is it two miracles before the Catholic Church declares you a saint? Rob brought peace to Treefrog Land...but is there a second Rob miracle?

Rob,
Agree with the comments already.

Like many others on here we have never met. However if I was ever at the London show you would be the one I would be most interested to catch up with. A credit to the hobby and always looking on the bright side of life (cue singing here{sm4}).

Now that you have acheived General and Legend status how about an autograph ?{sm4}.

Regards
Brett

Nice post Andy, and Rob you are a true gent and an asset to the forum. {bravo}}

Guys, what can I say , you are all very kind. Its a pleasure to know you all and I am very fortunate in that I've made many friends in this hobby through this forum, some I've met, some I hope to meet next year and some at another point in the future. I know some folk don't like my Dispatches threads or how often I post so I just want to say thanks for putting up with me on here. Some of you may know and some may not that due to a back injury (more years ago than I care to remember) I often have/have had long periods at home and as a result I have posted VERY frequently, just wanted you to know that sometimes the friendship of you guys and sharing of this hobby on the forum has helped keep me from going insane (ok ok, even MORE insane^&grin), because believe me, until you've experienced it you've no idea HOW BAD daytime tv is!!:wink2:^&grin

My best to all of you

Rob
