Impressive AFV collection, Rob. I find the most striking to be the Western Desert markings of the Matilda and the little Vickers. Very colorful and crisply marked. The collection looks great. -- Al

Rob,
I am flabbergasted !!! What a tremendous collection . I thought I had a nice collection, but it is nothing compared to yours. (I only started collecting K&C 2 years ago). As far as the book shelfs are concerned ,I hope for you they are not IKEA, because you need an engineering degree to put these together .

Thanks guys:smile2:

Collection looks amazing and what is more amazing is a wife who will help set all those afv's on the shelves.looks wonderful .

I'm a very very lucky chap , and I see to it that she knows I know it !:smile2:

Hell's Teeth Rob

Where in Sam Hill's name is Little Round Top, 20th Maine and Hood's Division going to live???????

Bob

Bob, when we eventually extend into the garage the ACW will have its an area all its own:wink2:

An "Incredible" collection, and wonderfully displayed, to be sure. I see it has even extended to the shelves to the left. I feel sorry for the poor Landing Craft propped up against the wall, though, seems lonely. I guess you will need to start an entirely new themed cabinet.

Thanks Larry, very kind, the wooden Landing craft is only there on a very temporary basis and will soon have a new home..I wouldn't try that with a Polystone version though!{eek3}:wink2:

Hi Rob,

That's an impressive fleet of armoured vehicles you have there.

Hope you don't have to pay parking fees......

Cheers, Raymond:)

Thanks Raymond, my good lady lets me park them for free luckily enough:wink2:

Cheers and thanks to all you guys for your comments.

I now have to set about building the other bookcase so I can start filling that up too...you gotta love this hobby!:smile2::smile2:

Thanks guys:smile2:

Hi Rob,

Not sure which is the most impressive, your AFV collection or your Wife! A very understanding young lady........:wink2:^&grin

Dear Rob:smile2::wink2:,what say:smile2:?beautiful view!!!!!!!!!!
Mario

Thanks guys, there is no way I can buy every AFV released so I try and have a good representation of each theater of the War if possible.

From looking at your collection I just assumed you had bought every release up to this point!^&grin:tongue:

Great collection my friend, and I like the fact that you have them out on display to look at. Most of mine are in their boxes, but I'm working on that currently to get more of them out for display.

Thanks Duke, they are good to look at, its taken me about six/seven years to collect them so it is nice to have them out on display.

Hi Rob, what a great collection you have. You're welcome to park some of your overflow at my place. You'd be able to visit them each time you come to Australia.

Adrian

Very impressive collection Rob. Thanks for posting pics. I can see that more shelving is needed. Probably will be more releases coming to your car park. John

Hi Rob thanks for sharing your amazing collection :) glad to see I'm not the only one using book shelves to store my many sets on lol

Craig

Rob, wow, what an impressive collection (okay, I'm being repetitive). I enjoy seeing such an amazing display. Chris

Wow! Thats impressive I especially like the landing craft in drydock.:p
Personally it's just can't do that many, I catch occasional critisicm for selling on ebay, but i reach a point where I say Oh my God! what am I going to do with all this!?!?! then I thin the herd(and usually by a couple of others:tongue:). I actually keep a lot in the boxes just for that reason, maybe I'm claustrophobic?

Beyond belief, all quality stuff, but how do you get away with it? I have to look at it again to make sure I was seeing correctly.

Thanks to all you guys for your comments, you are very kind. I've built these up over about seven years from my first (Wittmans Tiger) purchase from Mike Neville in London way back then. I do have a very supportive and understanding wife and believe me every day I thank my lucky stars for her.:smile2:

So now I have a bookshelf for Allied and another for German AFV's. so lots more shelves to fill......yipeeeeee!!:smile2::wink2:

Rob

Rob ,
Your collection looks great. I like to see photo's of collections in the home. It let's you in to your space and closer to the guy's we talk to. Great. Simmo.

Thanks to you both, much appreciated.

Simmo, fully agree, its a very enjoyable part of the hobby sharing with and meeting other collectors on these forums and at the shows. Its all good!:smile2:

Rob,
Ignore Adrian. Much better to let me take care of your collection in my shop. That way more can get to see it (before I sell it ^&grin).

No really that is a great collection and cool to see displayed like that.

Regards
Brett

Thanks Brett. I'm afraid my good lady has a plan for the collection when I kick the bucket, something to do with ebay and a foreign cruise I understand!:wink2:

Cheers

Rob...

Whats the total count after seven years??

Would love to see another of these, Gordon painted one up for a dio some years back which looked superb, here's hoping!.

Rob

My collection is no where near that extensive..but I do have quite a few...I have divided my collection into two groups: displayed in glass enclosed curio cabinets..and then, those still in their original cartons (which I am happy to have, but I dont get the enjoyment since they are out of site.)..I thought of displaying all of them on book case shelves, but, I wonder how you solve the problem with dust. Also, I have most of the new warbirds, but have displayed none because the are more wide and wont fit in my glass cabinets. I have some vehicles and mini dioramas in my basement on end tables..but they are all full of dust..and my old fingirs tend to break off smaller parts when I try to clean them. Any suggestions?
