My son has started work on a large diorama for our display cabinet, apparently his Marines need a home.
I have been wrangled in some painting and casting, we limiting ourselves to 2 hours a night and seem to on the same page about the style.IMG_0404.JPGIMG_0408.JPGIMG_0406.JPG

Coming along nicely, but only two hours a night! But I guess you two need to do the dishes as well....^&grin

A couple of photos from last night, the round archway i made a while ago and now the young fella's changed his idea of what hes building.{sm3}

At first it was going to be some jungle and a U.S base, now it's some jungle and as he put it - "you that building the marines were in, in full metal jacket".IMG_0411.JPGIMG_0410.JPG

A couple of progress photos, it's slow going but at least tomorrows Friday and we can squeeze in some more time.IMG_0414.JPGIMG_0415.JPGIMG_0416.JPGIMG_0417.JPG

It's looking like a really cool project. The best part is; it's you and your son building it.

Paul decided to get back into his diorama and of course changed direction, it will now have a village instead of the building out of full metal jacket.{sm3}
We are going to have fun cutting all the brick work off and when i say we it will be dad.IMG_0574.JPGIMG_0575.JPGIMG_0576.JPG

Thank you gentleman,

The best part of his renewed interest in his diorama was he decide fathers day would be the day.

I also find my son is more open to discuss any issue's that he wouldn't normally let dad know about while we work on dioramas together.

Great thread Matt, look forward to seeing further posts. Also magic to hear you and Paul enjoying the hobby together!{sm4}

Paul's Jungle / ruined Temple diorama looks excellent and I love those creepers.

I can see that I'm going to have to step up my game. :salute::

Hey Steve,

The creepers are hopps for model railways, i will see if i can find a product code when i get home.

Work always seems to get in the way of diorama building.{sm4}

Cheers mate

Yes I have the same issue ^&grin

Steve

We have started the village and when i say village it will only be two buildings.
I was left by myself for a while and started this building, young fellas not sold on it.{sm4}IMG_0783.JPGIMG_0784.JPGIMG_0786.JPG

We have ditched the building we made early for this version.

We now have room for another hut.IMG_0842.JPGIMG_0843.JPG
