The quality of the building facades is amazing and while supposedly just to be the backdrops setting the scenes for the figures on display and telling a story are stealing the scenes !
thanks for all the pictures you have posted of your trip to Europe, I have been to many of those places and tried to add a few of my pics to show what you hadn't so the other collectors get an even better trip.
I haven't been back to Munich in 'modern times' but it is definitely somewhere I would like a week's stop off at.
It was 1976 when last I went there, following the 'Hippy Trail' from Kathmandu to London, and later in a VW Kombi Van around Europe, so the only German cultural places we visited were 'Bier Kellers'
I really wasn’t expecting much in Munich so was pleasantly surprised by my visit there. YouTube doesn’t really highlight our “interests” focusing more on the touristy things to do. Half the stuff I saw completely took me by surprise. I need to get out more. HahhHha.
The last stop of my trip was Switzerland. I’ll say it here- it’s dullsville and everything is so expensive.
But I did come across this totally unexpected place in Lucerne. If you don’t realise it, it’s one of the few cycloramas in the world. I saved the best for last. ENJOY!
a minor event at the end of the Franco Prussian war. A French army retreated thru Switzerland to escaped the Prussians at a crossing known as Jura. The Swiss Red Cross was involved in providing humanitarian aid to this army.
