Aboard the USS Bunker Hill, somewhere in the central Pacific. Chris

Chris:

Great shots! I really like the action one with the propeller in motion.

Very good mate I like the deck and the moving prop shot as well cheers for sharing mate.

Great scene Chris and i'll echo what Wayne and Jason have said about the prop in motion, it's very cool pardon the pun! I like the deck as well and how big is it by the way?

Tom

Great pictures Chris, especially the one with the spinning prop {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

Cheers

Martyn:)

Great shots, Chris. The new deck crew are terrific and the plane looks really well done. It's a big one. How did you get the spinning prop shot? Electric fan or hyperventilation?:wink2: All very cool.^&cool -- Al

I can only repeat what everybody before me have said already "Great diorama, great shots"
guy:)

Great looking scene, Chris! The variety of the KC figures and poses leaves open a lot of possibilities for display. BTW, are those store-bought deck sections, or ones that you printed out?

Al, thanks and I had my crew chief (wife) flick the prop with her finger while I took the pic.

Thanks Moe. I downloaded the carrier deck images and printed and pasted to a foam board. Check out Scalemodelscenery.com. Used Tamiya tape around the elevator. Still hoping Andy releases a deck section.

Thanks TOm, I will measure the base when I get home.

Many thanks for the comments and like votes guys. K&C has done a wonderful job with the F4U and the detailing on the figs. THe pics don't do justice to the painting on the figs with the shading and the "new look" of the goggles. Chris

As everybody said, great scene! Back at the 4th New York Symposium around 9 years ago, I asked Andy and Gordon to make me the Island and a deck section from a small Japanese carrier, but K&C got super busy and they never got around to it. I would love it if they would do a deck section, as have two Zeros, a Val and a Sieran floatplane that would make a target rich environment for my 3 Corsairs, Hellcat, two P40's Brewster Buffalo and Helldiver!

THanks Louis. I asked Andy if Gordon would make a deck section for me, but like your request, they are way too busy getting ready for the Chicago show. BUT, K&C are "considering" making a deck section available. :smile2: I really hope something is released to support these great deck crew figs and the continuing acft releases. Chris

Thanks Tom, the base is two sections, as shown it's 28" x 44". Enough space to add another acft and figs. Chris

Outstanding scene and my money was on the wife the entire time!!!

In late November 1944, my father got a ride from Ulithi, Caroline Islands back to Hawaii abroad the Bunker Hill, as part of the rotation of Air Group 15 (Essex). Unsure, if he made the trip back to the States aboard the Bunker Hill which was heading to Puget Sound (Bremerton Naval Shipyard) for repairs or on another ship. The Bunker Hill was back off Iwo Jima by the middle of February 1945. So I am always happy to see the Bunker Hill on the Forum, the Essex would be better but the Bunker Hill works.

Can someone please say Torpedo Bomber!!! Either a TBF-1C or a TBM-1C, either works --- favoring the TBF though (Grumann). Internal paint differences really the big difference between the Grumann TBF and the General Motors TBM.
