My captured Bin Laden figure is now an anachronism.

Seriously, God bless our men and women in uniform.

Whilst I have a lot to say about this I will not as it will probably get pretty political as it is. I will 2nd the prayers for all of the men and women in orginizations around the world trying to rid us of terrorists. {sm0}{sm2}{sm3}{sm4}

Hope this is a beginning of long lasting peace in our region also.
God bless the brave soldiers.

Perhaps a new Set SF08 "The End of Bin Laden" ?

The Set SF02 "Captured Bin Laden" is now historically inaccurate.

Good point, could this sort of set now see a surge of interest in the US?.

I am not so sure. IMO I would think it would make sets of this nature even more unlikely to be released

Such a figure could make K&C a terrorist target. Don't forget they love soft options. Trooper

Agree....Not a good idea for K/C to get into this; at this time....Would have rathered a capture and brought to trial and justice.... and execution....Buried at Sea??? Why?^&confuse

I think one dead LADEN is enough don't want to Glorify him the less about this mongrel the better glad they dumped his body at sea so no shrines etc could be erected.

Imagine the security nightmare and all the do-gooders saying this and that no the best thing has happened he is dead end of story and it hasn't cost anymore money what a nightmare to bring him to trial,feed him etc etc he isn't worth it the dog got what he deserved.

Good point, hadn't thought of that.

Buried at sea so his grave/burial site cannot be a focal point for supporters.

I'd like a dead Bin Laden (preferably in the act of being shot in the head), his son getting killed as he tried to use a woman as a human shield, all the members of Seal Team 6 present, a diorama base of a portion of the compound, and one of the choppers involved.

It would take pride of place in my collection, right at the top of the steps when you first enter the room.

I guess for now my diorama of Allied Special Forces in the act of capturing Bin Laden at the mouth of his cave will have to do.

I believe I could also take one of those sets. :)

My sentiments exactly. -- Al

All of the arguments for and against any figure of bin Laden, whether alive or dead, are similar to the arguments for and against personality figures of Hitler, Himmler, and other Nazis. There will probably be those who want one, and those who don't, and eventually some maker will fill any perceived need in the market.

Prost!

Maybe not. With all the Muslim extremists around, it may not be worth it for a manufacturer to make it.

Perhaps a commerative set of Navy Seals? To celebrate their success in removing some scum from the earth:smile2:

I fully agree! K&C already issued a "capture of BL" some years ago, and as far as I know nobody set a jihad on them. I already mentioned this shortly ago on a "dispatches today?" thread, and I think that releasing a special forces set depicting SEALS and Deltas are certainly in place. After all this is an iconic historical event, and staying bellow of radar just because of fear of retribution is giving the thug a longer life.... Putting it simply, the ongoing war (which is far from over) was mainly shaped under a reaction to this man`s actions, and the military importance of this raid certainly ranks among the most celebrated operations in war history. Not only do I support whichever toy soldier company that may manufacture such figures as well as I will promptly buy them and proudly display!{sm4}
