In several threads, people have hinted at this issue so why not have a poll and a thread to gauge reaction?

I have to keep more money out for daily living expenses.food, gas, bills have went up,non-eating esstentials. You name it,it's went up.Less for the fun things.

Less the economic crisis directly, but the currency changes...over the last year or two the US dollar has been weak , resulting in compensatory T.S. price increases by all manufacturers, however the dollar has not only regained that ground but strengthened...resulting in a defacto 50% increase in T.S. prices based on currency changes alone in the last couple of weeks for Australia and New Zealand :eek::eek::eek:

The G20 should consider the plight of TS collectors in Australia and New Zealand at their meeting this weekend and pump more liquidity into our credit cards :D:D:D:D Well they seem to be pumping money out for everyone else:D:D

Yes......I'm in the bunker......coming Brad!:D

Since I buy mostly kits, and old figures for repainting, I don't spend that much to begin with. I think you guys who spend $35-$50 on single K&C figures, and a couple of hundred dollars on polystone vehicles, probably have collecting habits that are more susceptible to economic distress than mine.

On this side of the Pond we have had enormous hikes in the cost of electricity, gas and water prior to the present credit crunch and traders at various shows have reported a fall in turnover. The first significant indication of the present financial crisis will be the December London Show, although traders are hoping for a last splurge for Christmas before customers economise. Tough times ahead, but some bargains to be picked up on EBay no doubt.

Actually, it's Black Friday, which is the Friday after our Thanksgiving holiday. It'll be the 28th this year.

Prost!

I'm now thinking very carefully about every purchase.I think about the price, will the item be retired soon and i think about what range to purchase from next.In the old days i pretty much ordered whatever i want when i wanted it,these days more thought is involved.

Rob

Yep, but I needed to cut back on purchases anyway. I have one last bargain set of Hussars that I am considering but currently no more gotta haves.

Not affecting me that much really. I don't collect any series at all, I just pick and choose individual pieces that take my fancy, and I am not in a rush to get them as they come out really, there are always some on Ebay and always will be.

I think the economic crash will have a significant influence on what people buy. Making them more cost conscious and selective with more an eye for what would fit in with their existing collection and less about buying something they don't collect purely for resale.

It’s going to heart a lot of people. Texas is one of the top places in the whole entire world that has a good economy. What really matters right now is at least you have a roof over your head something to eat and toy soldiers.

I started.....uh I heard a rumor that New Jersey has started talks to sell

Pennsylvania to New Zeland to raise a little cash. We're having a little trouble

finding buyers for the turnpike and parkway.:D

Njja,
You heard that Corzine wants to charge rural towns for police coverage? A couple years ago my neighbor caught a skell breaking into my truck..and the fight was on..45 minuts later the pretty boys show up on an assault in progress..But no guns for homeowners:rolleyes:

OZ, you are correct. In my case I am no longer getting anything I want. I am simply looking for some select Trophy sets to add to my Zulu War collection. and I'll be patient, waiting, in the cover, silently waiting, like a hunter, waiting for my prey. And when that Trophy set comes wandering by with not a care in the world...BANG.:p

Yeah Vandilay is right when he says New Zealand won't be buying anything. We prefer to stay quietly tucked away and out of the Limelight. Owning real estate, let alone a whole state, in the U.S. is a risky business at the moment I hear ;)
Last thing NZ will want to do is draw attention to all those bungy-jumping sheep in "Shebangabang" :D

Besides we don't even know what the hell a turnpike actually is??

I can see when I finally get back there we are going to have to straighten

the place out!

No guns for homeowners? Ha! I'm more like Denny Crane, usually carrying at

least two at all times.......:D

Not to mention the knives, I did finally decide the nunchaku were a bit much

as they stuck me in the ribs when I sat down.

Heres a shot of me reminding the UPS Guy.......not to drop the packages

cause I'm watchin.:D

do is capture the Cheeze Whizz Warehouse on Frelinghuysen Ave.:D

If they have no Cheeze Whizz for the Philly Cheesesteakes........games over!

Ah......you might not want to invade on a Sunday.....cause if the Eagles are

playing those Fans are Brutal!
