I managed to download the entire tww pages of pictures today.
Windows kept timing out but I finally got all the images.
Now to look at them individually.
That is a great collection.
Simply superb.
I look forward to the third part.

Thanks Damian and everyone else for your kind words about my collection. It spans 40 years and has and still is fun, especially when you are in contact with fellow collectors to share with. Mike did my avatar which is a photo of Len, Valerie and me in Sulphur Springs on our town square in 2002.

Tommy,

Fantastic collection, neat to see!

I have an answer for you on your question regarding the camel you have with musicians riding on it. It was made by Silk Road, which was really made by Marlborough for Star Collectibles here in the states. Awesome piece, their most rare piece that went with the collection was "The Dragon Bridge" diorama piece.

Again, fantastic displays!

Tom

Thanks Tom. I bought the camel from a table at the 2002 OTS. I think I paid $35 for it.

Thank you Tommy for sharing your collection there's not much I can say about it that hasn't already been said......The Lt.

Tally Ho Arrrrrrrooooooh. There will be blood.

Maybe not.

The gallery image is only a blurred photo of the photo on the box cover.

Potential buyers should ask the seller for photos of the actual figures and storehouse.

I would expect the set number (even if I know) and production number to be stated in the item description.

You are as always the voice of reason Raymond.
Thanks

Mike describes the Brunswick Color Bearer figure as "highly sought after"
It is a lovely figure.
I know one recently sold on e bay for about 1000 GBP?
What is the story behind the figure?
Is it a limited production run?
Regards
Damian

Damian: Mike said he thought that Len said he only made about 15 at the most as a single figure. I will try to find out more.

Damian: This may be of interest to you and other Trophy collectors. I have a copy of a letter from Len Taylor to Joe Overstreet, his Texas dealer, before Mike Laeding dated Sept 18, 1998. Len says his earliest list or catalogue is dated 1973 and contained British troops marching and the same for British Indian Army Infantry Regiments and Cavalry.(apparently no action figures). Len started production under the name of "Soldiers of the British Empire" before 1973. He also produced under the name of "Workcrest Ltd" for a short time. I have never seen any of those sets or boxes. Has anyone else?

Now that is interesting.
I saw one on e bay go for 1000 GBP so it must be special.
It is also interesting about Len's figures from the pre Trophy era.
A book is really what we need.
Mike would be great for the photos.

Here are some unusual Trophy sets

Still no bids on the Rorkes Drift set.
Seems you are correct in your assessment Raymond.
This seems to be a popular set for this sort of behaviour from dodgy sellers.

You know damien, this older version that is being offered is just not as nice as the newer version.

Damian,

It has been very quiet. Perhaps, it is the calm before the storm.....

Greg,

There is something to be said for both versions.

The 1st version Set ZDRD has all the 11 VC and 4 DCM winners plus more.

The 2nd version Set SRD needs Set ZS52 to make up all the 15 medal winners.

However, I think the figures in the Set SRD have better detail and paint finish.

Best Wishes, Raymond.:)

The may not be dodgy, unless someone's had a bad experience with them. I can understand not posting a display of all the pieces outside the box if you have an unopened, mint set. The set I got is in the original box, but it sure ain't packed in the original foam, much less in the original manner.

Dave
