Hi Martyn,

I had a chuckle to myself when I saw this listing on eBay.

:)Raymond.:)

Thanks the links Martyn and the horse in question is actually the Suffolk Punch stallion from HM of GB.

It looks like a later version of the set....

Hi Al

I think it is mid 1990's, both the MKL and Trophy catalogues of mid/late 1990's list the set as EQ28A I've attached a scan of the label on my early set, you can clearly see where an "A" has been added in pen.

Cheers

Martyn:)

Martyn,

He is there again in 2 versions....one with a tea coloured pith helmet and the other with a white pith.

There appear to be 2 versions of the BB set Front Rank Reload.

Mike's with tea coloured pith helmets and yours with white piths.

Hi Raymond

You could order the set to be painted with white or tan helmets

Cheers

White helmets are the best. Why would you want tan helmets when you could have white helmets?:D

so you can have both?:D

I like White helmets best, but I do have the "unique" crawling wounded figure in a Tan helmet also:p

Managed to find EQ42/Z in both White helmets and Tan helmets which was quite nice:D

Cheers

These castings just sold for £173, they appear to be missing the two walking servants

AN ebay listing states

Trophy of Wales, A soldier of the 42nd Highland Regt. of Foot and a Fuzzy Wazzy doing battle to the death. The Englishman is in a position to finish off a Fuzzy Wazzy and holding his rifle in a stabbing position over a soldier of the Mahdist Army whos only defense is a knife in his hand.

The country of origin of Trophy is given as England.
There will be some upset Scotsmen and Welshmen when they read that. :D:D

Hi Raymond

Refresh my memory please, what is set#EL27

I would love EL5 - GORDON OF KHARTOUM

Cheers

Martyn:)

Hi Martyn,

My sincere apologies.....I didn't intend it to be a quiz.

The eBay.co.uk listing states that EL27 is the Duke of Brunswick.

http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130400759264&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

For a moment, I thought this was the set that went for GBP1000 sometime back.

No, that was the Duke of Brunswick's standard bearer.

I have been pouring over my catalogues, but don't seem to be able to verify the set number.

Perhaps you might have better luck with your Trophy literature.

Cheers, Raymond:)

Hi Raymond

Here is the info about the set

Hi Martyn,

EL27 is indeed the Duke of Brunswick. WA94 must be the 1,000 pounder.

Before you mentioned EL5 Gordon of Khartoum, I thought that the EL sets were for Napoleonic War personalities, as is the case for Napoleon, Wellington and Picton.

Thanks very much for the info.

Raymond.:)
