The ship's cat appears to have been left behind in Cairo.

Ship went for cheap at 386 and that is only b/c I got outbid! Being on vacation, I was not able to be there at the last moment and snipe. I think that was a good buy.

Or schedule a couple eBay buyers to have their heads checked :D

Al

Someone must have really, really, really wanted that set, or should I say two people really, really, really wanted that set.

Let's see what the other sets go for.

ZS 69 is a quite unique set.

Due to collectors demand Trophy produced a set of two casualties entitled "THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE" , the following Regiments were available:

DS31 – SCOTS GUARDS - TEL EL-KEBIR (Red tunic)
DS31V – POST OFFICE RIFLES – TEL EL-KEBIR (Blue tunic)
DS31X – ROYAL IRISH REGIMENT – TEL EL-KEBIR (Red tunic)
DS3HL – HIGHLAND LIGHT INFANTRY - TEL EL-KEBIR (Red tunic)
DS90 – GREDADIER GUARDS – SUDAN - (Khaki tunic)
DS90V – ROYAL MARINES – SUDAN – (Blue tunic)
BS48 – ROYAL WELCH FUSILIERS – BOXER – (Khaki tunic)

The two casualties were from ZS69 but the other four figures in the set were only ever available in set#ZS69.

Here is my set of DS31 – SCOTS GUARDS

I haven’t found the other sets………yet;)

Here is ZS69

The "Fields of War" series complimented "The Ultimate Sacrifice" series but had completely different figures

Cheers

Martyn:)

PS I'm sure no Trophy buyers need their heads examining, they just need very deep pockets;)

Martyn, these don't look quite as nice as most of the other Trophy figures that have been shown before...are these earlier designs?

Jeff

Thanks Martyn....these are much better imho but I suspect that the older versions are just as collectable.

Hi Jeff

The later DEQ1 set has more detail in the painting, but both sets are highly sought after, note the price a collector was willing to pay yesterday.

The set below completes the Egyptian Artillery pieces that were available

SET# TEQ.3

EGYPTIAN GUN BATTERY – OUT OF ACTION

TEQ3-1.jpg

I've added a gunner with ramrod to my set;)

I can’t find any record of TEQ.3 being reproduced later as DEQ3

Yes!....scary stuff

Martyn thanks for the info.

I prefer early to middle production for my Zulu War sets, but I prefer the sculpture of the middle to late production figures in the Boxer line. The later runs of the Boxer series seem more robust to me.

Power to them (including under-bidder) some of us would sell the whole Trophy collection for these prices. On the other hand another Dervish with a rifle was sold for $21...the flag must worth 80 bucks :D

Very scarey Al, working on those prices a boxed set of 6 could cost £384:eek:
I've seen several single 24th figures sell for over £70 each, I have sets of 6 with the original £39 price sticker inside, a much more civilised price;)

Completely agree, Martyn... 3 -4 bidders on eBay create the whole impression that Trophys are gold (price wise). Please do not get me wrong I love them buying my lots on THESE prices :D
It could be just a few reasons why it iss happening:
1. they know something about Trophys that we (at The Forum) do not know
2. they do not know nothing about Trophys
3. they have too much money and too little time for looking...:D
At any rate :you know, any item is worth as much as somebody is willing to pay for it :)

Al, nowadays I think not being short of a bob or two helps;). All this talk of recession and a Chinese Vase sold in the UK for over £50,000,000 a couple of days ago:eek:
