Rammjager Launch (1 Viewer)

Instead of debating the issue and "kill" each other, why don't we just ask Andy for the source and historical background of the Rammjaeger Jet design? Andy...are you there?

Noli,

He already answered that question, citing the book he used. I don't believe (and am pretty sure) that he will not be saying any more on the subject.

N-P, there is no historical background as such because they were never made ;) :D

Saw the RJ and transport today. I have to say that I was much more impressed than would have anticipated. It makes a very nice and interesting addition. A bit surprised that this was not a limited edition selection given how unique it is. Still haven't decided if I will buy it though given how much space it takes up.

Looks a very interesting little scene.I would like it but it seems to be slipping down my priority list as other things rise.Must say it doesn't worry me though even if it didn't fly, still looks cool.

Does the Rammjager come in a special box or the usual fighting vehicles box?

Don't know about the box but, I saw the set at the shop yesterday and I almost wanted one.

Kurt

It comes in the normal box, nothing special.

Great plane and looks great in my Dio i done

Tony

I still think this is a great model and will make a great addition to a German Airfield Diorama - thats my plan at least. :D

I just got mine RJ today with the transpoter. Very nicely done i must say !

Going to check this out on Saturday and am always open to persuasion.:)

Rob

:D:D maybe it did exist:D:D
Certainly looks like it with german markings , but I'm no aviation buff

Obviously, it is a Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka (see:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohka).

Those soldiers are visiting a "museum" and they are in the section devoted to Japanese aircrafts. Look behind the guy going inside the Ohka, there is an airplane with Japanese markings.

BTW, the Me 262 is pretty cool.

Pierre.

P.S. Try to find the Rammjäger in the following list:

Germany

Experimental and test jet aircraft

Fiesler Fi 103 R - piloted version of the V-1 flying bomb.
Focke-Wulf Ta 183 "Huckebein" fighter, never completed.
Heinkel He 178 - First aircraft to fly under turbojet power, 27 August 1939.
Heinkel He 280 - world's first jet fighter, cancelled in favour of Me 262.
Heinkel He 343 - jet bomber, not flown.
Henschel Hs 132 - Dive bomber. Factory overrun by Soviet forces before test flights could begin.
Horten Ho 229 - Flying wing fighter.
Horten Ho XVIII - a redesign on the Ho 229 to make it a four jet engined bomber capable of reaching America.
Junkers Ju 287 - Multi-engine bomber design; proof-of-concept aircraft flying from 16 August 1944; factory and project captured by Soviets before definitive prototype built.
Messerschmitt Me P.1101 experimental aircraft with ground-set variable-sweep wings. ~75% complete at conclusion of war.

Operational jet aircraft

Messerschmitt Me 262 - the first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft.
Heinkel He 162 - second jet engined fighter aircraft to serve with the Luftwaffe
Arado Ar 234 - the world's first operational jet-powered bomber.

I had almost forgotten how much fun this thread was. On the other forum I suggested that dealers should put a disclaimer on the WWI armored car to ensure that collectors are not mislead by KC's inaccurate and nonsensical description of what they are buying. At the very least not include the KC description which is misleading at best. That would also apply to the RJ.

Rather than accurate model makers, maybe they have become 'artistes' using a great deal of artistic license ;) :D
