Rammjager Launch (1 Viewer)

This continues to be an issue because KC perpetuates through its advertisements the false impression that the RJ and armored car represent actual vehicles. For example, here is what they say about the AC in their WWI brochure (p.7) "the K&C model is just one of many designs used by the forces of both sides during the conflict." That statement is nonsensical but does anyone disagree that it gives the impression that the KC version actually existed and was "used" in WWI? Do you think Andy does not know better by now? Do you think there are collectors who might choose not to purchase these items - as several of us here have indicated - if they knew they were not real? Do you think there might be new board members or collectors who did not follow this discussion previously and might find this information useful or at least as useful as some of the other discussions on this board?

If you disagree with any of that, it might be more constructive to say why rather than attempting to pressure others into ending the discussion because you don't like for some other reason. If you think it has become tiresome fair enough, but most threads on this board have been rehashed more than a few times.

I can see both sides here, but I do believe too it is a dead horse.

That being said, I bought the RJ b/c I liked it, pure and simple, regardless of whether it was ever built, I do believe it was a concept and that is good enough for me, so ANDY built it, big deal.

As for the Heydrich, I like the green car, so what if the original was black, it was a good set and I like the car, black is boring at times, how many black ones do we need.

As for the WW1 car, well, that one I have not made a decision on one hand, I believe there were enough different styles out there that we should get a model of one that existed instead of a hybrid, BUT again, I like the car, so I will probably buy it.

Just a matter of choice, I think that the historical point has been driven home quite clearly.

PS Was the Goering car (original staff car) really blue in reality???? I don't know the answer, so am curious. All existing film shows a dark black color........ Ok, just a little fun, the film is B/W!

Pierre and Combat,

If this were the first time we had discussed the issue, then I would agree but I think you've previously posted the info you posted earlier. This issue has been exhaustively discussed here and while I'm not disagreeing with your right to say what you want, I just don't know that there is more anything to add to the subject. If you want to talk about it, feel free. However, it's also the right of others to disagree with you on it.

I'm sure at this point that most members are aware of the issue.

My feeling is that if you don't like, don't buy it. No one is forcing anybody to do so.

Live and let live is my motto :)

For the record, Brad has edited my post above to delete a friendly joke with a fellow member. It was in no way inappropriate or offensive to the party involved and had no relation to what is being discussed here.

I'm sorry you were offended but this is a very volatile thread with you on one side of the issue and Harry on the other. I can't take any chances to let things get worse. You always have the option of pm'ing him.

Brad-

This thread was not dead, it was just sleeping (like all the other threads of the forum) and the proof is that panda1gen made it live again by posting a video and asking (h)as anyone posted this already - are these Americans getting into a ramjager or is it the japanese version?

I simply reply to that question and I did it with facts.

Take a look at the tail of the "flying machine" in which the guy is climbing: it is the tail of a Ohka. It is not an opinion, it is a fact.

The list of the experimental/tested and operational jets was taken from Wikipedia. That list is a fact.

My answer was certainly not s*** (which is the meaning crap if I am correct) but, on the contrary, was instructive (note that I can also post OH! and HA! for everything and nothing).

Also, the if you don't like it, don't buy it thing is certainly not the best marketing strategy for K&C and in my opinion (now it is not a fact), they understood it as Yan and Fanny are emailing me regularly informations about the new releases of K&C and they never ever told me to not buy it if I don't like it.

Finally, I never said that the item numbered WS100 was not attractive and I remember having wished that Andy had produced a Yokosuka MXY7 with officers from IJN. I also remember that Louis was enthusiast at that idea.

En toute amitié,
Pierre.

Lemme see now, it's (what..??) 09:30AM here in Hong Kong and last night was a riot.
So what's all this then..?? What issue..??:confused:
Did Combat poke a wee joke that got "Moderated" or sumthin'. :p

Doug.....post it again if you will. What is there to be offended about when its two adults that are having a friendly "difference of opinion"..?? Besides, I generally like your posts.

Brad.....Combat's messages are never hectoring, arrogant or patronising and while Me'n'Combat probably are on opposite sides when it comes to this one in particular, that doesn't mean to say that we're going to get all bent and twisted out of shape by exchanging a few messages with each other on here. (Maybe....:D:D)

Promise we'll be good boys..!!

Cheers

Harry-
You probably couldn't take it and would break out in tears. It would take years to recover. Fortunately you have been saved from that fate. Glad to see that you are a good sport. I will add triple smiley faces so this is not deleted.:):):)

Stow it boys.
The dispathces are out next week then we can have a real catfight over a new issue.

And if their errors keep coming in the same old way, we'll see them off in the same old way :p

Awe Gee, I've been sussed out at last and now the world knows I'm just a Big Girl's Blouse......:(:(

Doug, you and I have disagreed in the past (somethin' about ashtrays being the wrong colour I seem to recall), but we've never let it degenerate into the kind of childishness that's evident elsewhere.
Of course I can take it as well as dish it out. I seem to recall being described as a baldy, squinty-eyed, with chest-hair sprouting everywhere SOB - a description that's so accurate I actually burst out laughing - and Kudos to the guy with the eye for detail. It's the people who dish it out and can't take it back whom I despise.:rolleyes:

Anyway, I digress as usual. In my view, you are just as entitled to express your opinion as I am. Nuthin' wrong with that as long as we keep it at an adult level. :):)
Right, I'm opening and re-packing my new Toy Soldier goodies as I type - so some new displays are being planned for when I get home to North China tomorrow night. Unfortunately, I won't get my hands on the new ranges I've ordered for a while yet - so the new displays will just have to be the same old SOHK/IC stuff. Oh - and some Crusader/Saracens.

Best Regards
H

O.K.,

Here's what I did today...

I got the Rammjager and sold the two figures to Pierre. I like it, it looks weard with the FW-190 canopy.

I know this RJ wasn't real, but I'm going to use the Figarti V-1 trolley instead of the K&C trolley to rest it on, and use the three guys that came with the V-1 and the 4 guy add on set. The guys will all be pushing and pulling the RJ backwards, like there positioning it to fit under the wing of a HE-111. I'll be sure the rocket nozzle is clear.

I think it's kind of cool this way, as the RJ pilot looks like he's looking over his shoulder as he's being positioned backwards under the wing.

Who knows, maybe Figarti will do a 1/30 German bomber someday.

If you come to the museum some day, I'll let you set mine up under the wing of my K&C HE111.

If you'll give me a second, I'll find the picture for you.

Here is the photo from Louis' collection,
