Finished a pair of ruined buildings for our Great War dio, thanks to Bob who started the painting and whose advice was very helpful in allowing me to finish the job.
Wayne.

Superb mate who is the clown hangen on the wall.....................^&grin

Next ruin will be a barn which has been blasted, I am using 'field stones' that I cast from some moulds I just got, I will post progress.

I'm in the process also of casting the required amount of bits and bobs to make a church and bell tower, the stash is growing....

Jeez mate, those buildings are soooo well done! What colour did you say is the mortar between the bricks? It looks to be a dark brown you used.

Tom

A bit daunting seeing all those tubs of bricks Wayne, knowing they all have to be laid end to end and bedded down. I guess it's a labour of love.^&grin, the barn is shaping up quickly. Robin.

Wayne, I want to ruin my buildings like that! Very nice, I look forward to completion of your buildings.

In this case black mate, I found dark grey to black looks ok with the field stones.

Thank you lads.

Progress on the ruined barn, have added a floor and then rendered it with polyfiller. I have placed tape in places and when the polyfiller is dry I will remove the tape to expose the field stone.

Simply Brilliant Wayne,:salute:: would love to know where you got the molds from? I used to have a set of rubber 'castle-maker' molds but the person I lent them too, accidently threw them out.......I was gutted and ever-so-slightly pissed, cause they really were good and very easy to use.

Wayne, you did a great job with your "ruins." So many times, when I look at diorama buildings, I imagine them being extruded, whole, from some sort of machine. However, I look at the flooring, walls and trim on your creation, and am very much impressed with your craft skills and artist's eye. I'd also note that I believe that I lived in worse digs than those when I was going to college (the first time).
Anyway, great work and kudos to you on all counts!:salute::

G'day Moe, your reference to living in 'old renters' when attending College made me laugh, here's one that just sold here in Auckland for over a mill.....location, location, location...{eek3}^&grin Cheers Toddy
