Didn't tell me earlier you had a great selection of photos to share that you had taken at the show. What a nice surprise Michael and thanks for taking and sharing them..........Papa Zulu

Great pictures Michael.

I have to ask, were there any Trophy Miniatures?;)

Cheers

Martyn:)

Thanks for the pictures Mike. That street scene by Gordan in post # 8 is $2200?whew! I don't see it myself.I see many things made, especially by Ken Osen that are superior IMHO at a fraction of the cost.

I actually commented on the price myself...it is a nice piece though and I have no idea what it is made of..

Mike,

So overall what did you think of the show? How did it compare to last year's for you?

We had a great time, already planning on attending again next year.

John

Thank you so much Michael for taking the time to take the photos and then sharing them with us here. Looks like you had a great time. The USS San Pablo (post #1) is just beautiful.

I had a great time...

the venue location...San Antonio...OMG...the greatest food and hospitality...I'm a crack head for Mexican food... know I put on 5 pounds...the River Walk...the Alamo...the Mercado...the people...so friendly and so many "eye candies" on the River Walk...it was 93 degrees...so I gravitated indoors as much as possible...everything is so centrally located...

the Menger Convention Facility...very nice...they had expanded several booths into the second room...very well organized...and of course KingsX Store and their very friendly staff is on the Menger premises...an employee there... young Hispanic lady...actually remembered my name from last year when I stayed there...I was impressed...Martin Vasquez is running the show there and you couldn't find a nicer guy...the Menger Lobby and ground floor is impressive...plus the Mall is a less than 1 minute walk from the Show...I took a friend so it worked out perfect...

the show itself...was definitely bigger...I guess it's growing...they had about 6 more vendors in the second room than last year...Figarti had a big presence this year...it seemed busier than last year...but I'm not sure...

overall...it was very nice and more than I expected...this was just my second year...

the only bad thing...one of the vendors I really wanted to see was Compton Creel...I bought some really nice original pieces from him last year...but he didn't make it...someone told me he had car trouble and maybe some health complications...

I stayed at the Holiday Inn on the River Walk...very contemporary rooms...so centrally located...$125.00 a night...valet and self parking...great staff...on the River...really nice clean rooms...

I hope this show will continue and continue to grow also...for my area...it's all we got and I welcome it...I'm pretty sure I will be there next year...
