Cheers Wayne,

This release looks to be superbe and unusual to boot. The Mountain troops look superbe too! Sadly, I must admit I was very disappointed with the Kettenkrad as it seemed almost like a "hurried" release along with the Medical Kubels. I found the Kettenkrad lacking detail (fixed position for handle bars & front wheel); a bit undersized from an aesthetic focal point (non measured scale reference); and a very mediocre paint job (Luftwaffe version in this case)-too many small areas (corners, etc.) missing paint and too many shiny glue marks which I have noticed a lot more from ALL manufacturers. I dislike the plastics or similar used in the trailer construction and would have rather seem a tow hook for the Luftwaffe version. Since most of the TGM releases have been quite nice, I had high expectations. The Kettenkrad and Kubels reminded me of the older NMA sets. I would have rather paid more for the sets and had a better product especially after comparing it to my K&C winter Kettenkrad which is the only other one I can compare it to in my collection-I have seen the CS & W. Britains releases at various shows but do not have them for a side by side comparison. That being said, I do appreciate TGM's effort to keep prices in check and for those of you die hard fans/loyalists, keep in mind this is simply constructive criticism and a non-biased personal opinion only. I have a lot of TGM sets in my collection which I thoroughly enjoy.

Thanks,
Marc

Marc,
although that there are some neg points one has to admit that you get value for money
and with a little bit of imagination and a little bit of extra work look what you can make for example of the medical kubel
guy:)

TGM is underscaling the vehicles?

Guy..

The kubel is quite small and smaller than K&C's. Even you mentioned the very small boots and cap in the rear being more like 1/35th scale. Its a nice model and a great dio unit but, a little small
Mitch

I can only say that the Kuble is the right scale . Have not yet received my kettenrad
guy:)

That's odd. TGM figures are the same size as K&C figures. Well, they can't be the right size and too small at the same time.

Was the Krupp truck right? No one commented on scale being small for that one.

The Kublewagen was 374 cm long and 160 cm wide. At 1:30 scale that would be 12.5 cm and 5.3 cm.

I just measured my Kubel it is 12cm long and 5.3 wide( incl the mud-guards) . So it is quite up to 1/30scale

It could be a touch longer bumper to bumper - less than 1/2 cm more - within a margin of error for measuring.. I'd love to see some side by side photos with the K&C Kubelwagen as a comparison.

I recall people complaining about the K&C Kraftwagen looking too small, but it was measured and was the correct size.

Terry..

Your wish is my command oh wise canadian. Some pics of the two kubels. Ignore the conversion bits I am doing for a collector and neils long tom but, they show the comparative sizes. The TG is slightly smaller than the K&C version but, not by much in the measurement

I see the problem. No one took into account that the TGM version is the sports model ^&grin^&grin

Actually the TGM does look slightly smaller, but pretty close. I doubt you could get models from 2 different companies to be exactly the same size except by chance.

Terry

terry...

TG's is the RS variant while K&C's is the RT!!! Not a great difference in size but, there is one. Both nice models
Mitch

Thanks Mitch , problem solved . Nice conversion of the medical Kubel I must say
guy:)
