Sherman is coming (3 Viewers)

Yes the entire hobby is over-priced....NO DOUBT....and....VERY TRUE......Regarding the Question: Is the accuracy worth $100+ extra for an AFV....Maybe yes...MAYBE NOT.....Maybe we will have to decide "how much" we will buy and simply limit our purchases:wink2:.....The real question is Quality vs Quantity...I personally think $50 extra would be a more then fair mark up for historically accurate AFV's:wink2:...That said I certainly would not want to purchase "toy like", poorly made, and historically inaccurate products for a just a few dollars less......So I will buy VERY CAREFULLY....before I part with my hard earned money.

Ever thought about taking up golf ? Seems like the hobby you are in is not giving you much enjoyment.

Dude, your trying to stir up ol dust that settled lonnnngg ago, the forum has for the most part moved on from the old days of K&C vs. FL which is suerly a good thing, but every now and then someone has to stir the pot just for a refesher course, it's very fair to say you do not like FL product, right? you don't collect FL product right?, but do like to make sarcastic remarks on FL product, right?? I'll answer that one for you..yup!! enjoy the forum, and your collection and let others do the same...Sammy

Hi Sammy,
Relax buddy...I'd thought you'd be used to it by now, I know I am. It's been how many years ??? I think it's quite entertaining and predictable actually, every single time that FL have announced a new ATV at least one guy not to mention names ( Terry :wink2:) goes for the books spending hours and hours trying to find something wrong with it :salute::. While a few certain loyal collectors from a certain other manufacture are guaranteed to pop up with comments ranging from it's too light for the money ^&confuse, to just feeling the need to tell us how they just prefer thier such and such:rolleyes2:. And you know what ? I can guarantee it will continue ad nauseam, so you gotta except it, see it for what it is, have fun with it and move on.

So what have we learned this time out guys???? Well nothing really except that the new Sherman is well suited for what FL have intended it for and looks very nicely done... What else....hum... and that a few collectors still feel threatened by this "NEW" company FL who has ruined their party by making beautiful figures and ATV'S . Well guys I say get used to it FL are here to stay and the silly comments are made even more transparent with every new quality release FL produce.

I welcome the "experts" with every new release to have a nice long look, who knows maybe they will actually find something and we will all learn something in the process. I really do find it enjoyable. I know I do the same thing whenever they release a new figure in a range that I have some knowledge about. The thing I have found is that they really do a fine job producing wonderful products in what has become a wide range of periods. Are they perfect nope but nobody is, but they do a wonderful job from top to bottom and that's why I and many discerning collectors like yourself and many others are making them a part of our collections .. regards Gebhard

You forgot to mention my title as Google King or the satisfaction I feel when an AFV is well done and historically accurate. Or the disappointment when it is poorly done and historically inaccurate. To me, the AFVs are historic miniatures and not toy soldiers. Well, at least some are historic miniatures. :wink2: So I'm not looking for mistakes but to see how well done it is.

Well, as usual your conclusions are wrong again^&grin....I very much enjoy this hobby... especially First Legion products:wink2:. They are the best made and most historically accurate military miniatures made today (IMHO of course:wink2:) and as Gebs said they are HERE TO STAY....Prices being what they are these days in this hobby, I'm just very careful as to what I will purchase and thus try to plan my purchases carefully, thus moving my collection in the direction I wish it to go....Again Quality vs Quantity........As for golf I've been playing for years..."A Great Game" that can never be truely mastered...I play to a 7 handicap, so I better not give up my day job....see you on the links.

My apologies, It is quite easy to misinterpret your constant complaining about pricing, Ebay etc for lack of enjoyment.

As for the comments by Gebs I thought his post was in keeping with his comments over a number of years.

No problem cobber mate:wink2:.... no appologies needed and no offense taken..... as I explained earlier, the hobby is indeed not inexpensive these days and thus I try to excercise good judgement in evaluating the quality and historical accuracy of TS products......BEFORE..... I part with the cash.^&grin

Hi Terry,
I'm sorry I must have misread your intentions but when you start your post with " And now to ruin the enjoyment " well you can see why someone might think your out to crap on Sammy's Sherman party and not really looking to " see how well its done" as you say. Hey maybe with the next release you could start a thread entitled " How well its done" and you could share all that satisfaction you feel :wink2:^&grin regards Gebhard
