Speaking of sherman , i had a job that took me to the American Armor museum today ... it is a M4 E8. By the star on the turret you can see real shrapnel damage !!
Finally a Sherman!!! This will be my 1st FL tank. Start saving your pennies now fellas.
The FL Sherman does not seem to have a turret number so I guess multiples should work in a medium size diorama scene.......As in Tommy's photos at the museum, hopefully there will be a US tank commander made available to fit inside the turret hatch along with some US tank riders....Now that would be AWESOME and also a bit pricey:wink2:....But I would be on board just the same.{sm4}{sm4}:salute::
Terry informed me about the addition of an M4 to the FL line. Initial impression is very favorable. As Terry said - it is an M4 with the 75mm gun and added applique armor. The photo looks like it typifies the most common US tank in Normandy. The US Army tried to keep the logistics manageable by only sending M4's and M4A1's to France with the initial tank battalions and armored divisions. In July the 76mm-armed M4A1s came to the continent and by August-September the later versions of M4A3 started appearing.
I will be interested to see more of this tank as time progresses. An M4 like this was the most common US tank in Normandy and during the breakout and into the Battle o the Bulge, so there are lots of possibilities for repaints by FL or by customizers. UK forces also received some M4s (in addition to the M4A1s, M4A2s and M4A4s - the British Tank Commission doesn't seem to have said "no" to much).
I usually don't follow First Legion, but might watch the site periodically to see how this turns out.
At least it IS a tank used commonly by the Americans as opposed to a couple recent offerings from another manufacturer!

Well I as I see it, there is nothing wrong with pointing out errors if indeed the errors do exist and are blatant or quite obvious since all these hobby purchases are not in-expensive...It keeps military miniatures from becomming "just toys":wink2:
Not really sure what Spartan's post was about or, whom it was aimed at??? However, I fully agree with Frank's comments if a manufacturer gets something wrong and FL have also then there is for me, no aggravation, hassle, problem with stating what it is. Its exactly what should be done and, in this case I don't know enough about the minutia of a Sherman so, Gary's input is greatly appreciated.
I now don't want to spend hundreds of pounds on an item to have to convert it myself to make it correct. If we don't want to hear what is wrong with an item by anyone either don't read these posts or, complain where it should be aimed at the manufacturers.

Wouldn't it be nice to have someone start a decent thread and NOT have it turn into a scale/color/theatre ops. just for the same ol song and dance?? give it a break fellows, the tank hasn't even been put into production yet and the BS is already starting?? take a day off of critique and let a few enjoy the hobby for all it's flaws and warts...Sammy
And just in case it comes up again, That I am trying censorship. I am proposing a choice of views, for people not to read the critics has to say, or read what the critics has to say. Unobstructed. Two different views without any prejudice to sway, anyone that does not want it.
Interesting post Gary keep it up:salute::Terry informed me about the addition of an M4 to the FL line. Initial impression is very favorable. Shoe on the other foot you could say you keep posting about critics across different threads is just as bad maybe you should leave it for the mods to run the forum ^&confuse
There was a shot at the bow at " other manufacturer", so it crossed threads, that is why I crossed threads, and as far as the mods. What I must be saying must be within the parameters of what is allowed in the forum. And people advises to not read what someone does not like... and block that member. But you are reading mine?
