Why not, Gary? Thanks. I'll ask the boyz if we can make such markings and you can count on it.

Thanks!

Do you have any pictures of the originals that these tanks are based on like the "Al Capone"?

Here are a couple of shots of M4A1 76mm Wet Stowage types in action;

A classic photo of an M4A1 76mm with hedgerow cutter in action

These are Signal Corps photos that are from the Archives Normandy site. Use the "all sizes" tab and you can get nice large photos. These tanks are from the 2nd or 3rd Armored Divisions as they got the first batch of M4A1 76mm Wet Stowage tanks in Normandy. Other units did not get them until the next batch came after the Battle of the Bulge (the M4A3 76mm was the dominant 76mm armed type in the fall/winter of 1944).

The "Al Capone" name might have been inspired by the decal sheet for the older Italeri model of the M4A1 76mm that appeared in the later 1970's. That's the only place that I have seen it.

The first wood tank K&C ever had made for them in 1990 was a long barelled sherman with the "Al Capone" markings, based on an old Tamiya model.

The New Sherman's Look Good I May Buy One In The Future. My Question Is Will American Troops Follow. This Could Get Interesting.:d:d:d

I can't wait to see these up close in London on the 30th.I am going to buy at least two possibly three.Just trying to decide which one first?.

As much as I love Shermans, I cannot see paying $195 for a K/C like tank...For that money, it would have been nice to have something more unique....It looks great, but about $100 great....Michael

I agree with you Michael. The cost is too high for a Sherman. I don't see any value in it. Leadmen

I certainly hear where you are coming from, gentlemen, but I will say this: In the past when K&C sold wood resin and metal tanks in limited numbers, they retailed for between $300 and $400. The reason for the expense was partially the cost of production in the Philippines as opposed to China. When I spoke to dealers, the superior quality and limited production numbers were also cited as reasons for the expensive retail price.

Honour Bound is producing excellent quality tanks in limited production numbers in Argentina, which, like the Philippines, involves higher production costs then China. Accordingly, the retail price has to be higher for the company to survive. They are trying to make the price reasonable through superior quality and limited production. With regard to the Bergepanther and Field Kitchen sets, I felt the quality warranted the additional cost. I have just pre-ordered one of the Shermans and will soon see if its quality warrants the additional expense as well. If the combination of limited production and high quality generates a secondary market (a completely unpredictable variable) in a few years people may think $200 is a bargain for one of these tanks. Just my two cents.

It's been mentioned before, but the KC "limited" editions are in the $200 range (Panzer Meyer, Sherman). Given that even fewer of the HB Shermans are being made (200 vs KC's 1200) I don't see the price comparison as being unfavorable to HB. In fact, just the opposite.

I think its an apples and oranges comparison. Remember the K&C limited editions come with around 5 full and half figures, whereas the Honour Bound Sherman comes with one half figure. Those extra figures do effect the value.
